What did you do to your Skoda today?

Nearly crashed it. Bumped a kerb in the ice but thankfully missed the telephone exchange...

Renewed the car insurance with Admiral.

No one seems to be able to match their prices, its gone up by £20p/m to £130p/m due to being unemployed

WTF - £130 per month? What is it a friggin bugatti. Plus im curious what was their justification for it going up due to unemployment? More to the point why on earth stick with Admiral if its gone up so dramatically? Smells of rip off to me.

The irony! Unemployed so you earn less and it costs more to insure a car!

Mind you mine went up when I changed from IT programmer to Marketing.

Nope, modified Fabia PD100, also have 6yrs NCB, high risk area tho

Next cheapest was £1550 if I paid in full, Admiral's was ~£1300 (if paid in full)

You did try the forum sponsors?

I don't think I've ever paid that much, even when I was 17!

Last year mine was 153 a month, and I'm 27... And clean license...

Hmm, I'm 25, modified vRS, 2 years NCB, 1 at fault accident, clean licence, and it's £650 for the year...

£300 a year. Protected Full NCD. Just to rub it in. . I do live in Scotland though and we all leave our front doors unlocked up here as its so safe. Apart from the recent spate of Audi thefts that is.

Did you try all the specialist and insurance forum sponsors Chris? The issue will be you're insuring a modified vehicle with a standard insurer.

I know the area might be higher risk, but with that car and your NCB I'm sure it shouldn't be that much....

Tried, most won't either touch me or are after £2k+

Thats what I don't get, Admiral are willing to insure me whilst these specialist companies won't due to the postcode and now the fact I'm unemployed gives them another reason not to bother

Very strange. Some might not due to postcode, but as they don't all use the same underwriters you should at least find one who use a more sensible risk profile :)

Hung upside down for about ten minutes in my footwell. The common Clutch pedal fault on my mk1 octy vrs :( Its now sat on the kitchen side whilst i try and get a mate to re weld it.

clutch pedal not the vrs ;)

Squeezed in to it after some utter Bellend in a Jag parked like a numpty. Note the black pre-fl vrs behind, so that's half the offices vrs contingent in one shot. teduqany.jpg

Played some ridiculously loud music on the journey to work. Even made my flat cap vibrate on my head.

Cleaned and polished it - not been done in 4 weeks.

Took it down to the dealer to get the chrome on the rear quarter-light replaced under warranty. It looks like it has white bubbles underneath the coating and has gone grey. Since they have to take out the windows and re-bond them it's in overnight and I have a Rapid as a courtesy car (with adverts plastered down the side of course :))

Yesterday really, but drove it back from work and had some fun with ChrisZero on the way (he works at the same place and seemed to also be heading towards Bristol)

Washed the Fabia today, went for a short drive round a few local villages on the way to Sainsburys. Getting my 312mm brakes done tomorrow.

Planned to replace my clutch. washed and dismateled everyting until it was time for the drive shaft and i realised i forgot the bit spline bitset at home hundred miles away. Big fail

Ripped of my Leeds United badge from the back window and stamped on it.

Plasti-dipped my 2nd chrome grill surround ready for my Pasty badge to go on. B)

Drove it to the dealers and got it booked in for Thursday as the airbag light decided to stay on this morning.

P/X'd it. :)

Gave it a thorough clean- snow foam (borrowed from my mate and incredibly fun to use!), wash, clay, polish, wax....soo shiny and smooth!

...until I catch it in the sun in a few days time and find swirl marks I didn't manage to get rid of :wall:
