  • Picked up the new VRS: 2013 Fabia VRS by Graeme_Smith, on Flickr

  • Popped to the garage at lunchtime to swap coolant temp sensor. I don't think it's the problem but it can't hurt. Going to swap O2 sensor later for the spare I have. Went well, all sorted in 5 mins. T

  • modified the cup holder     It's now a hobnob holder

Got a nice new scratch down left back door as some :swear: decided my car was too near for him to get out .

Took it to get a wash, drove home, deicided it wasn't clean enough. Proceeded to:

Hoover it.

Wash it.

Attempt to treat some stonechips and scratches.

Polish it.

Vinyl wrap some bits.

Productive day :p

Me - nothing.

My soon 1,5 year old - eating some cookies all over the back seat :D

Yesterday got 4 new conti contact premiums fitted, today trip to pick up 12ft trampoline then another trip back again to pick up trampoline that actually had a trampoline in the box!

Tomorrow.....build trampoline

fitted rarb then went on test drive ended with a big smile job done

Plus EGR bypass emoticon-0144-nod.gif

Any more info on the EGR bypass Steve? I've fitted the gasket with the smaller hole but mine still feels a little spluttery at times

Matthew

Took wheels off to replace pads and 312 discs

realized they look virtually like new after 2 years

cleaned wheels and put them back on.

(plus 100 miles at 61.2mpg (trip computer))

Fixed the brake pad low warning light I've had since the Brembos went on - the pads in them don't have the connector for some reason.

I used a bit of wire, some plastic and insulating tape :D

Paid off my Skoda - YAY!!! First time in 8 years that I haven't been paying out on ANY form of Skoda (I've had 4 tee hee)...

Now to enjoy having that bill sorted lol!

have a look at my blog.....done lots of blingy superskoda bits on it!! deliveries from them are superb an a milotec dash trim I returned was credited in full the next day, they have had a bit of a bashing on the forum in the past but my experience of them has been brilliant, maybe they listened to critisism!!

Treated it to front flaps and new style stubbie Aerial. :) ...oh and of course Im just about to clean it ;)

Not today but last night at 9pm gave it a wash.

Put a Shark Performance remap on via the STS

I fitted the Allard one. Mainly due to a slight weep from the EGR pipe coming off the turbo.

Apart from the CEL light on and a slight judder at shutdown (expected issue with the bypass, as the anti-shudder is controlled via EGR - same on the Fabia) - it feels the same. But better in the long run by not gunking up the inlet with oil vapours emoticon-0114-dull.gif

Also now completes the engine work, so I can get a revised map from Ben emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Cheers,

Steve

Fitted my Decat

It needed a little persuasion to bend the hanger rods slightly but other than that went on quite easily

Fitted my rear bumper & tail pipes

IMG_0308.jpg

The rear bumper needed to have the rear parking sensors cut out and also needed a little more bumper cutting out for the towbar

Did some data logging before the decat/after decat/after map

Finally, stopped off on the way home for a couple of quick pics :)

really nice Matt, get that grill Colour coded! good results there from Decat & Map :-D is that a Custom Shark map?

also which Decat pipe did you go for? Wardy bought my unfitted one from PP tuning and had an absolute nightmare with it.

The grill is on my list of todo's along with getting the rear bumper touched up and tidying up the bodywork on the car in general.

My decat was from ebay and fitted very easily (with a little help from a small hammer).

The map was from Ben, and yes he did a custom for the decat, I've had the map/decat & bumpers sat in the garage since mid Jan, I think its the longest anyone has waited to fit one of Bens maps :giggle:

Good work - car looks great.

Removing all the goodies and extras I've added ready for it's trade in

It does indeed, I'm as happy as a pig in **** I still wish the sport bumpers would have fitted..

Nice looking car Matt.

What did I do to the Skoda today - Gave the Fabia wee run down the coast today, and started planning a couple of mods which might start next week.

Davy

Disconnected the return pipe on the coolant, fastened a pipe to it ,to a bucket , then took cap of reservoir and turned on engine and kept on topping up with fresh water till it ran clear. Then poured in anti freeze and ran till it went down to correct mark. then fastened cap and pipe and nice clean pink coolant  replaced My rear Sessantas with new ones B)

I washed some bird poo of a colleague's car using a squeezie bottle. Does that count?

Hopefully fixed my errant headlightemoticon-0144-nod.gif

Need to check it, But CBA the now!

But I did break my uncles A6 Allroad thoughemoticon-0120-doh.gif

Removed the front suspension to see why the spring is pinging.

I had put Loctite on the nuts on the Compbrake top mounts as they kept loosening. Well that slowed me down a bit. Ended up borrowing a big set of grips from the local mechanic and using a 1m metal pipe to extend the C spanner. Trouble is I had to use the grippers on the aluminium thread so that made unscrewing the nut much harder.

1hr 20 mins and lots of WD40 and swearing and one came out.

Tackled the second one today and that's the one where the bearing has seized. I could get the nut to the top of the thread then there was nothing to grip and it just span so after 40 mins of cursing out came the Dremel :(

So standard mounts are definitely going back on now!

Now I need a rattle gun to undo the top nuts so I'm stuck until tomorrow when I can go hassle my mechanic again.

Damn cars.
