So what bits would you like to see on Octavia III?

Recommended Posts

Seeing the thread about the heated windscreens makes me wonder just out of curiosity what bits would you say should be STANDARD equipment on all cars & STANDARD on cars such as the vRS, Elegance and L&K?

For me it would be:

ESP on ALL cars

CR Engines for those who like the diesels.

For vRS, Elegance and L&K it would definitely be:

Mirrors that dip when you engage reverse so you can see the kerb or parking bay lines.

Columbus as standard

Heated Windscreen.

What would you like to see on the next Octavia? emoticon-0112-wondering.gif

Standard on ALL models:

Bluetooth

Steering Wheel Controls

Xenons

Free metallic paint

Standard on the vRS:

Either a 2.0 Twin Turbo Diesel or a 3.0 Turbo Diesel

Selectable Suspension Settings (Comfortable, Road and Race)

Selectable Engine Management (Economy, Normal and Fast)

A wider 'free' optional alloys. (in 2007 my A3 had six different types that were all a free option)

a free choice of colour options on the standard seats.

Optional 4wd

Like Prolfe, would like to see Bluetooth and steering wheel controls on cars with manual box, instead of just DSG, and these should be standard in the vRS.

Would also like to see bi-xenons as standard.

If a new VRS, than with:

BiTDI (at least 204BHP)

Better leather or leather/alcantara mix.

Better isolation of the engine/road noise.

MFSW without paddles (for the manual).

Heated windscreen in combination with the SunSafe windows (double layer).

Suspension a tad lower and more refined (ie more comfortable and not too hard. More progressive).

Dimming mirrors on BOTH sides.

(or should I directly buy an A6 avant? emoticon-0136-giggle.gif )

think its got to be:-

4 x 4 vrs available (or one of the systems thats 2 wheel drive until the going gets tough and it goes into 4 x 4)

side airbags as standard,

keyless entry and start,

Multifunction steering wheel either as standard or as an option with non DSG

As I've said many times... petrol is fast catching in economy (since it beast derv hands down in every other area....), and we'll see it out-do diesel within the next few years :)

Blue tooth, sat nav as standard, with tom tom software so we can have the speed camera points of interest, and digital option on the radio

Better seats front and back they are just to hard, the front part of the drivers seat must be able to go up or down

4x4 with the option to lock it into 4x4

an end to the blown turbo problems

a min 120 bhp cr diesel

And the holy grail, LED Bulbs all round

Not many "new" features then, just more options as standard emoticon-0124-worried.gif

For "new" features how about -

Automatic rear door (as per Suberb Estate)

DAB for the Columbus

Park Assist (as per Suberb & Yeti)

Self cleaning paint work - (as per Pilkington Activ™ Self-Cleaning Glass)

have you tried a DAB stereo?

Unlike normal FM when it gets to the end of coverage or coverage is lost all sound just cuts out. Sometimes for minutes.
