As you can see from my sig I'm going to say Redemoticon-0100-smile.gif

Red has been my favourite colour ever since my first car (1976) but this is the first time I have had it on two consecutive cars. Just replaced my Focus ST in Colorado Red with the Octavia VRS in Corrida Red.

I also object to having to pay c£400 for an extra pot of paintemoticon-0120-doh.gif

40% of all new cars registered are silveremoticon-0124-worried.gif

I have race blue but wish white was an option when i bought mine

Anthracite, or yellow if you're feeling brave...

... Brimma would be happy - he's desperate to see pics of a yellow FL VRS :)

Keen I think, rather than desperate :S

Don't want it to look too good as it'll start me thinking again

I'll confess to having thought about yellow myself, but...

I'm not changing my car

I'm not...

Ah, but!!!

The £400 I did'nt spend on metallic paint on my ST, I spent on a S/H Dreamscience re-map which gave 45 extra horsepower and Eibach lowering springsemoticon-0144-nod.gif

I could feel and appreciate the improvements it made to the caremoticon-0103-cool.gif

Anthracite doesn't suit it???!post-50060-12657614221185_thumb.jpg

ANTHRACITE!!!

Ok? :giggle:

After not seeing another FL vRS on the road I saw 2 in 2 days in my neighbourhood. One was white and one was yellow. Neither did it for me I'm afraid, particularly the yellow. emoticon-0145-shake.gif

Everyone's taste is different though, just order the colour that YOU like. Shame the colour choice on this model isn't a bit more extensive tho.

How do you drive, if its "enthusiastically" Yellow & probably white (when clean) is a no no as plod see you coming from the next county.

Make sure you see cars in all colours that end up on your short list, often outside colour dosent work with the trim, its also agood way of demonstrating how dark colours show all the swirls.

For me it would be anthracite as it stands out the least. Blue & Silver are both safe bets, Blue I guess would comand a better resale as it looks good on the car IMO but as you say there are loads around

[i may be biased, but......

My car is a pre-FL vRS wagon in yellow and, despite generally not liking yellow on cars (or most other things as well), I really like the colour. I wanted to buy a Race Blue car, but got such a brilliant deal on this demo that I took it. I'm glad I did.

I think the yellow really suits the shape, makes it look less bland. It also shows the dirt less. And it really stands out - people love it, or hate it, but they really notice it.

In Australia, most of the press cars have been yellow, for good reasons - they stand out, grab attention and photograph well.

Your call, of course, but I encourage you to be brave.

And to resist the calls of the dullites on here :) that are trying to push you towards boring old metallic grey or black.

But of course, colour is a personal thing, so you have to choose for yourself. And what would we know?

Cheers

I had a choice of a few and opted for black - when polished it looks amazing and with the windows tinted, really does look nice. Only one I didn't have a choice of was yellow, but not brave enough for that. Only downside to black, you gotta work at it to keep it clean - but lucky I enjoy washing :D

Race blue is popular because it really suits the car. It was always the colour I wanted no matter how many others there were.

Black looks great too but I've had a black car before and like you I've been through the pain of keeping it nice.

Gray - I like the grey I think it's good on the car.

Silver - I agree with you that silver is a bit ordinary now.

White - I like the white, it's a colour I used to hate on cars but I'm coming round to it.

Red - doesn't work for me on the Octy

Yellow - Not for me.

Colour is a very personal thing. For me it's blue, white, black or grey in that order.

Yellow isn't as popular and might affect your resale value.

Edited by Aspman

Aspman is obviously colourblind because RED is the best colour ;)

Yellow would be a very brave move, especially when it comnes to resale value - spoken like a true accountant ! There's a very good reason why Black and Silver cars are easier to sell - they are much less offensive and whilst a little bland appeal to more people than they put off.

Personally I think it's got to be Race Blue - classic vRS colour in IMHO.

Get white then have it resprayed gold *bling* ;-)

I've gone for the Race Blue as I think it really suits the car, although I did give Anthracite as my 2nd choice.

I normally drive red cars, last was a red SEAT Leon, but didn't think the red suited the Octavia.

Currently got a white Ibiza, and not sure whether I'd want a bigger car in white.

Did once have a Neon Yellow SEAT Arosa - like a yellow highligher pen - that was, er, noticeable. Once parked it in a national trust garden car park and came back and thought someone had thrown black paint over the roof, it was actually covered in greenfly....
