Delivery Dates For Octavia Vrs

Featured Replies

Our dealer has advised (which coll-orates with the fleet tracker) a build during week 6 2011. However, went to a local Skoda Dealer to try and blag a test drive......and........

They advised that they had received a communication from Skoda advising a 6 month (yes 6 month) delay to all 2.0 CR TDi vehicles to be built after week 2 2011. The salesman went on to suggest that it was the EGR valve that was causing the problem and Bosch couldn't make them fast enough. I should point out that as far as he was concerned we were looking to buy a car! He also said that they expected further clarification on Tuesday. It has gone as far a people ordering the lower powered TDi's being offered the 1.6Tsi and £1000 to change (so he said).

Any one else heard anything similar?

Yes. I have been told by a dealer that the diesel VRS will "effectively" be unavailable for 6 months. There will be no offers on this car either in the New Year.

Mine has told me the same, I just laughed at him, saying 'of course'.

Dealer has just confirmed that everything from week 3 is going back. Unable to specify delay.

Look's like we will be getting our deposit back.

Been told today that my CR VRs has an 'unconfirmed' build date of week 6!!!

Looks like it might become one of the delay casualties!! :'(

Will get more details of what's happening tomorrow. :S

14th August..........................Blue..................Hatch...................DSG............Diesel...................

Originally told wk 44, then 45, then 50. Dealer has now confirmed built, so just wait for transport to UK. Hopefully delivery mid January!!

i have been on the phone this morning to the dealer,I had been told i had a build date of week 1 now they tell me its week 3. not happy but not too bad .Then i rang SUK and got some bad news. apparently my build date is not confirmed at this point i am very ****ed off .Then i was told that because i ordered my car after the 21st August i will not be eligible for the £150 good will gesture for having to wait 18-25 weeks for delivery and £300 for waiting over 25 weeks ,first i have heard about this .The person i spoke to at SUK was helpful enough but had nothing good to tell me. they did say they would try and find out more info and get back to me but nothing yet .They also said it was down to the supply of engines .considering i was only a couple of weeks from my first build date im not happy that no one has been on the phone to tell me and that it takes this forum to keep me informed! thanks for all your info keep us informed as SKODA are not

Neither the dealer nor SUK will verify the build date of your car till 1 week before actual build, so afraid thats the way it is.

The 'goodwill gesture' points of 18 & 25 weeks, I would try & speak to a manager, as I had not heard that it had been removed after a particular date, I read on SUK site that the delay week was moved from 16 to 18 weeks at around that time.

If this is actually the case that the gesture has been removed, I would suggest that anyone who is going to be hit by that should collectively send letters of complaint to SUK.

Just got back from local dealer having had my VRS in for 1st service. Toyed with the idea of ordering a new one (petrol DSG) and we got talking about delivery times. He stated they had recently been told by SUK that diesel VRS's would be 26 - 28 week delivery times on new orders!!!!

Well now would be a good time to order it with 17.5% discount available on all orders before 31 Dec, then just sit back & wait for the Sept 2011 reg, as thats prob going to be the reality .

Just heard the same . I am a fleet buyer and I have an L&K on order which has been delayed already to 6 Months. SUK have been instructing some dealers to return deposits.

I am awaiting a confirmation of whether it will actually be built in week 7 (7 months)

UPDATE

Mid July.........Silver..............Hatch...........Manual................Diesel..........On Transport to dealer

Dealer advised that car is due their tomorrow, but SUK, say in 48 hrs, given that the SUK system is so to pot, i wouldnt be surprised if it is on a transport stuck @ Immingham, unable to get out of port. - ANYONE in this area confirm the roads around Immingham ????

Nice gent @ SUK, told me the reason that they are in this pickle, is that when the car market went dead @ the start of the downturn, SUK & suppliers made lots of layoffs.

The scrappage scheme started the upturn, & trying to get the people back to work was not easy as a lot had found other jobs, so it has been a trial to get new people trained in the factories along with getting suppliers back up to speed. With the addition of the offers & the motoring accolades, this has caused the explosion of orders. - The fullest order books in 110 Years.

I would like to have my car for New Year

Bit gutted reading this topic,I ordered a vRS diesel last week but had no build date yet.Dont know if I am prepared to wait 27 to 28 weeks hope i get better news than some of you on here. Are the workers at the car plant on a short working week?or is demand so great .

Demand for diesel allegedly. I am sorry but I do not think the news will be good. Many of us have been waiting around 6 months.

There was a post on the site from a person that went on a factory tour back in October & was told that the facroty was working to capacity.

I know its not good news for you, but now you know what the story is, you can decide if you want to wait.

The Nice man @ SUK also told me he wanted to order an L&K Octy, but was told no chance , so has ordered a Yeti.

This is what I have sent my dealer and the response I got.

I am hearing some very worrying news that all diesel VRS, with a build date after week two are going to be delayed for six months. Can you please confirm this.

There is some truth in this, we will be more informed in January when we will come back to all our cutomers , we will phone you after the 7th Jan when we have more concrete information

Just tried phoning Skoda UK, they have no information on any delays. Helpful, think I'll just cancel and get my deposit back.

I'm very gutted I cancelled my order yesterday.

When I spoke to my dealer and mentioned the issue with the Bosch valves, he stated it wasn't a 6 month delay for CR 2.0 TDI engines but they are being pushed back. He told me mine had slipped 3 weeks. I couldn't take the chance of further delays as this is financed through a company car allowance and it would seem like I was extracting the urine if I didn't receive it till June. Therefore order cancelled and had my deposit returned.

He further stated there were no Q1 deals on diesel Skoda's due to the component issues.

The worse thing is I couldn't come up with a suitable alternate I liked, and I am now getting a Vauxhall Insignia 160 CDTI SRI as a Company car. I am Rick the Rep!!!!

If you have a Diesel Octavia on order I do hope you see it before the model changes in 2013!!
