Update from my dealer today:

Car ordered: 29th Sept ................... Race Blue................. Hatch....Rear Park-Manual-Maxidot-Auto Dim-VRS Leather-Heated Seats.... Petrol..................Week 50 ( that's the build week)

Dealer emailed me today to inform me that: 'Confirmation that your new Octavia is due to arrive at UK port of entry, and will be available for collection during the early-mid part of January' - yipee!

Just need to get my insurance sorted out and a cheap flight to Birmingham to collect - here's hoping the weather improves for my drive back to Glasgow!

Black 2.0T FSI Estate DSG ordered 22/12/2010 , was given an estimated delivery date 14/3/2011 to be firmed up once order processed by SUK and build date allocated.

Was told by dealer big delays on all diesel engines but Petrols not too much of a problem with SUK quoting 12 weeks typical lead times. Extra's didnt make any difference to quoted delivery times (unlike a year ago when leather caused me delay), just the engine choice - and I wanted petrol anyway.

i said it months ago - diesels orders have huge delays. no one wanted to "swallow the reality of it"!!

u have skoda, vw & audi all pecking from the same parts bin (suppliers) - who do u think VwAG is going to give priority too?!?!?

......clue - skoda doesn't get 1st or 2nd place!!

feel sorry for all those with diesel orders having to wait for so long - its unfair.

u'd think by now VAG would b doing something extra to satisfy the orders promptly - but from wat i hear, all factories r running at full capacity already, and suppliers r going as fast as they can!

Well picked mine up christmas eve and loving it!!!!, it's now sitting in my garage having not been used since, but going away for new year so at least I can drive it again then

YIPPEE !!! Car built and on way to docks. Not long now then! So excited.

Ordered winter tyres from Kwik fit Continental ts830 205/55 16 arrived at local branch in a few days

Ordered 6.5 j Skoda spec rims from local vw dealearship yesterday with 10% discount, who should have them next Tuesday.

Fortunately they should also fit my 2007 mdl Seat Leon Stylance tdi, so will put them on for a few weeks, after the snow nightmare. Think that my local council rationed the salt. Roads are lethal, even by our local hospital. Such a disgrace.

Having Ventureshild fitted at Covertech Birmingham +detailed by Midland Detailing. All costs more than I planned, but should benefit in the long term.

Finally the 30 wk wait is almost over. Need to make sure mudflaps to be fitted . Winter wheels / tyres to be swapped from Seat to Skoda. What a good buy they were. They give such confidence, without taking risks and so much quieter than summer Pirelli P7`s. Now realise that bearing type drone was tyres.

Note To All :- If you are thinking of having the brake lights flash under hard breaking instead of indicators, be aware that it will make the car an MOT Failure, so its down to you if you have it done.

Picked up car yesterday. Dealer fitted winter wheels / tyres. Car is fantastic, better than I ever could have imagined. Definately been upgrades to DSG box. So much better than DSG box in my Leon TDI. In auto changes up from 1500 rpm, very smooth, no lag. Cannot believe what a difference there is. Like the new aerial, way car drives, quiet, real quality. 85 mile return trip showed 54 + on mfd with a lot of hold up`s on M25. Managed to get phone set up today.

Can`t understand why anyone would pay £4-5000 more for a Golf GTD / Audi A3 etc, except for badge snobbery.

Only downside, dealer do not fit mudflaps to VRS. Do front set go straight on without mods? I know rears need a bit of tweaking.

Car registered on 24/12 (received V5 doc today), contacted Skoda, as think they should change warranty to start the day car collected, due to dealer being shut. Will be writing to them, if you don`t ask, you don`t get.

Also have to wait for dealer to put compensation claim in, before confirmed if £300. Also need to get a ipod cable to link with MDI.

Will keep you all posted.

Race Blue petrol estate with Xenon's, Sunset Glass & MDI ordered 22nd Sept, built week 49, arrived at dealer yesterday! Collecting Tuesday after PDI etc. The wait is finally almost over.....

Dealer did say though that Skoda UK have been told by Skoda HQ that NO right hand drive diesel cars of any description would be built during 1st quarter of 2011...... Hope this is not the case for those of you still waiting

I do hope this is not the case.... keep checking with dealer and my build date supposedly has never moved from week 2.....so shall know shortly

Update: Car is in country awaiting transport to dealer, this should be done by Friday. I should have delivery middle to end of next week!! Finally some light at the end of the tunnel!

That doesn't sound too bad. I ordered my manual CR vRS towards the end of December- I'd be delighted if it arrived early May.

Sadly I fear I probably won't see it until July at the earliest :'(

Now week 13 and climbing, I am considering canceling my order now. Everytime I ask it gets worst, i dont think i'll get it until april/may

I got mine 2 days before crimbo after a 7 month wait !!!!! It has now turned out to be a wait worth all the hassle .... Cant get over the massive fuel use difference from my MK1 Octy 1.8T ....now getting 550 miles per tank !!!!! And as for the Xenons .... supa dupa ..... :p :p

Picking up on Saturday. 29 weeks!

Ordered mine begining of June 2010 and told the car will be at the dealers by today and I can pick it up next week.

A long last the wait is over....... only 32 weeks.

Was losing the faith and going to sell straight away...... now keeping her as I believe it wasn't her fault just her creator.

Update - built, but awaiting a boat. Dealer say with Christmas it will probably be mid Jan before it's with me.

No - Only french car i ever owned was an absolutely brilliant Citoren BX17TD. ( yes a French car that only ever had wear & tear fixes )

FYI - So you're aware the compensation claims need to be set in motion by you - the customer, ( unless you have a very friendly dealer ).

It is a bit slow to get started at the moment due to Xmas break, I called to ask for mine on 30th Dec when I collected the car & got a call from SUK yesterday saying that they hadn't forgotten.

I now have a registration number, should now be at dealer and with me next week!

Originally told wk 44, then 45, then 50. Dealer has now confirmed built, so just wait for transport to UK. Hopefully delivery mid January!!
