Yeti spotting - result!

Featured Replies

Drove into the Albert Street car park in Hebden Bridge about 12.45 today and spotted a black, 11 reg, Yeti near one end. Drove the length of the car park and not a space to be had (bloody tourists). Turned round and was heading out to look elsewhere when the black one started to back out. Stopped and waited while the turn was executed, got a huge smile and a wave from the lady driver, and there was one perfectly Yeti shaped gap for me to drive into. Thank you!

well i've been a busy boy over the weekend.

spotted a dark blue one on the A5 friday.

2 silver, both near machylleth yesterday.

and coming home today, 1 silver, 1 dark blue with dutch plates and a black one with german plates. all apparently heading for the royal welsh show in builth wells.

i hope the weather cleared up? it was lashing down this morning.

Drove down to Gizmo this morning. Nothing as usual. Back round to Teddington. Nothing. Drive down from Tolwoth towards Kingston and I saw one. a red TDI 4x4 11 plate being driven below the speed limit, so I overtook it at the 40mph speed limit. It then turned off towards Ewell, going towards James & Allams.

Not seen any in ages, then two within 100 yards of each other northbound on the A38 heading towards Derby. One cappucino (I think), one darker brown. Have Yeti's starting huddling together in groups? ;)

Could be the mating season?

Ah yes - that would explain it!

Snap! Result!

Saw an 11 reg Tangerine CR110 4x4 Elegance with Gobi leather and Annapurnas parked outside M&S Food in the Borehamwood Retail Park, next to my office, when I popped out to buy some lunch today.

Looked resplendent with clean shiny paintwork and notably had Skoda Auto UK (Milton Keynes) on the number plates.

No sign of the driver though. :'(

Corrida red at Skoda dealers near Mont de Marsan so far 900 ish miles from St Albans and no Yetis spotted apart from that one!

En route to Portalegre (Portugal) on road average 63mph/36 mpg. 140 elegance, Thule bars and Ranger 90, 3 people. Great autoroute cruiser, comfortable, quiet, iPod on mix. Currently at Venta dos Banhos, last 500kms tomorrow.

Second beer and smoked almonds welcome and going down well!

Enjoy! :envy:

Pretty good speed/consumption figures.

I'd wager the roofbox has less effect on the aero compared to being fitted to a car as a Yeti is pretty much a 'barn door' already. Also the extra weight will compress the suspension by 15-20mm so your really driving a Greenline :giggle:

Having only seen one other (it lives it the same village) since getting mine at the beginning of March, I've now seen two in two days. One Amazon green one in the carpark at the Game Fair at Blenheim Palace on Friday and I've just passed a very smart dark blue one (Storm Blue possibly) parked in a layby on the A425 south of Leamington Spa.

I was that surprised at seeing another one I just about remembered to give it a toot as i went past. Are they starting to infiltrate I wonder or just passing through?

Was it wearing green wellies and carrying black labradors?

Waiting at traffic lights in Bradford at about 1.30pm today, silver one (very new or very clean) crossed in front of me heading down Great Horton Road towards the city centre.

hi

the storm blue one was me and i was asleep in the drivers seat at the time (i work nights followed by a day-trip to Northampton so after being up for over 28 hours i was getting sleepy on the drive home)

Well I arrived at my hotel near warwick on Tuesday night and the first empty parking spot was next to a steel grey SE.

Saw a black 60 reg 4*4 with roof bars this evening at c. 18.30 heading east along Mansfield Road outside Gospel Oak station.

There are so few SM's in this part of north London that it really is worth remarking on.

Saw 3 today on the way to the North

1) About 1.5 hour ago on A1(M) - Grey Elegance with Orange Ariel Ball heading south

2) About 1.5 hour ago on A1(M) - identical to mine - S Aqua Blue heading south

3) About 20 minutes ago on Newcastle Road, Durham - Black Elegance or SE (can't remember) turning down towards Ushaw College

2 this weekend:

very dirty white or silver one coming into Llani on the Hafren Forest road.

white one just outside Churchstoke this afternoon, on the way to work.

That's my car! Except that it's never been within 100 miles of Gospel Oak... (I took the roof bars off yesterday evening.)

Spotted one myself on Saturday afternoon: a dark blue Yeti heading south along the A6094 between Rosewell and Howgate. Managed a brief wave but didn't have time to see whether they responded.

Silver one, on police interceptors, channel 5 just now.

In Sheffield on a roundabout somewhere

On the last two evenings I've passed what I think was the same silver Yeti driving along within less than a mile of my house. It might be the one that I often see parked in a disabled bay opposite Blackford Pond. I should try to note the reg next time I see it.

A little later this evening I was out for a run and discovered that a neighbour a few streets away has a smart 60 reg red Yeti (with no model designation on the tailgate - I didn't know you could get them de-badged) parked on their drive.

I believe the 1.2Tsi has a clean boot except for the Yeti logo

Correct !

I believe the 1.2Tsi has a clean boot except for the Yeti logo

Can confirm this! or if it has 1 tailpipe (later ones have 1 large pipe instead of 2 in earlier versions)

Spotted a 53 Reg Aqua Blue SE near Shincliffe, driving out towards Bowburn, about 1 hour ago.
