Yeti spotting - result!

Featured Replies

Three today, within a 10 minute period! Got a very friendly wave from a guy driving an 11 reg Corrida Red (just like mine) as we passed in opposite directions on the ring road north of Leeds near Horsforth, then saw a silver (10) and a grey (59) in the car park of the big Sainsbury's in Allerton/Moortown area where I stopped off to raid the cashpoint.

Three today including including one on Hampermill Lane towards Watford around 2.30pm in a very natty "Doctor on Call" white Yeti.

Saw two today on journey and destination.

Pacific Blue SE 59 Reg - Stockton-on-Tees campus (not RR pack - no rear film fitted)

Aqua Blue S 59 Reg - Stanhope outside a row of Terrace

Wow there seems to be two on the same street in Stanhope. The aforementioned Aqua Blue S and a Grey S driven by an older gentleman.

Saw another one yesterday near Nevilles Cross on Newcastle Road - Aqua Blue SE

One today, strange colour - champagne SE near Framwellgate Moor on Newcastle Road.

I'm still not seeing many SMs on the road but saw a white one today on the A59 near Skipton just before 6pm, driven I think by a lady with long blondish hair. I was so taken by surprise that I didn't see the reg or the model but just about managed a quick wave (which I think was returned) as we were level with one another.

Anyone on here?

Travelling back over the paek district last week I saw two different mettalic grey yeti's both driven by older gents with grey hair. I remember thinking that was a good colout match for the first one, then was amazed to see it repeaterd 30 mins later by someone else.

Watch out - they'll be a Tangerine one being driven briskly around the Derbyshire Dales and Peak District for a few days in mid October as I'll be on holiday. :giggle:;)

Filled up with diesel last week at Shell, Hickstead. When I came back out after paying, parked on the next pump to me was a muscovado Yeti. I had to look at the Reg. Nos to be sure which one was mine! I noticed the driver sitting in his and gave him a big thumbs up and a smile - almost involuntarily! Fortunately, I got the big thumbs up and a smile returned!

I was sat in our local Tesco the other day, waiting for my wife to do a bit of shopping.

Had the window slightly open had a kid yelled YETI! to his dad as they walked behind the car.

Dad gave me a smile and said "good cars aren't they"

The answer was obviously yes. :)

Similar ish experience. Driving Down Brighton Road there was a man in bright yellow/orange fleece with child. Looked at car as I drove past - saw him staring in the mirroremoticon-0136-giggle.gif

Mind you I was driving a......................

The helicopter episode of TG is being repeated on BBC2 tomorrow night ... more recognition likely to follow.

I keep seeing a candy white 11 plate yeti around Livingston. Seen it twice today already.

Saw a white Yeti with the green checks on the outside today..."Doctor on call". Parked up in Croxley then heading back East on the A41.

Good to see they're considered reliable enough for Doctors, Police etc.

Two in one day for the first time ever! Aqua blue (I think) near Bury on M66 and a grubby silver (probably) in Colne, both late afternoon on my way back from a day's work in Manchester.

I was followed between Leatherhead and the M23 on the M25 by a grey 4x4 tdi 10 reg driven by a young lady, who drew alongside on the inside as she turned off. She waved at me and I reciprocated emoticon-0144-nod.gif A first sighting on the M25 emoticon-0148-yes.gif

driven by a young lady,

Totty in a Yeti?

Down boyo!!

Think of the strain on your heart at your age.

I am seeing so many Yeti's now that they are not worth reporting. Is this thread still valid as the cars are simply not rare anymore? (apologies if this seems miserable)

I hardly see any still!!

It may be that because I live in a rural area, Northumberland, that the Yeti in 4wd guise makes a lot of sense for people. It is also an area where people generally don't get Chelsea tractors but have real 4wd cars that offer value rather than prestige, Nissan X-Trials, Mitsubishi Outlanders, Freelanders are the most popular, and the Yeti fits into that group.

Fair enough then, keep them coming.

Just back from 2 weeks in the Algarve -saw one Yeti on the motorway near Tavira - lots of other Skodas (Fabia, Otavia) in Portugal - looks like a good market for them.

Yetis are still rare around our way (Cambridgeshire) -we saw one on the Peterborough parkway the other day - a dark blue one with a Wales/cymru sticker on the back - driven by a large guy with a cigarette hanging out the corner of his mouth - he did not notice us at all when we pulled up alongside him at the lights.

We are off to North Wales next month to our new holiday home near Porthmadog - should be a better hunting ground for Yetis. This is the reason we bouight our Yeti - something practical for travelling to Wales, and which can cope with the weather there in winter !

Pete

I saw several in North Wales last week, even flashed by a red one :)

Down boyo!!

:D ... an old man can still dream!

:giggle: about night mares?
