  • Whats with the attitude? FWIW, the engine cubic capacity was asked because i'm entering my car into a time trial championship and there's a multiplication factor involved with forced induction engine

  • Heres the replacement car       Comparisons   The steering and handling is much much better in the ST by a huge margin.  Performance wise v a stage 2 1.4TSI id say the ST loses out, not

I think he means NoS :)

All it is really is a vehicle to add more oxygen into the charge allowing for more fuel to be added - Volumetric Efficiency modifier.

As a bonus it cools the chage as well due to phase change action taking place.

Nitromethane is a completely different kettle of fish altogether. In drag racing some clutch is on run use - most plates are welded toghether during the run. rings, pistons one run. Rods bearings, valve train 3 runs. 5 runs everything is replaced. Superchargers alone need 700bhp to run them lol. Funy trivia fact, they actually get more Gs on deccelaration than during the acceleration :).

Nitrometh is also used to power RC models.

yes i meant nitrious oxside. just been reliving some classic ps1 games where its refered too as nitro haha. if only things were as simple as on a computer.

Subscribed. What a great thread.

Especially like those Tarox brakes.

So who would be interested in a bumper modifications sales bonanza.

Only planned on keeping the car for 12 months. Its 20 months old now and ivd spent the last six months debating whether or not to strip it back flog it and then buy a ready prepared tin top race car instead. Makes more sense financially plus it'll be infinitely more fun having a race car and trailer. thinking somethjng lkke yhis http://classifieds.pistonheads.com/classifieds/motorsport/race-cars/tin-tops/golf-gti-16v-race-car/885784

Anyone fancy some go faster parts

I'd be interested in the water Meth and maybe few other parts

I can see your point, but it would be a shame to lose one of the highest modified MK2's and tuner development cars.

  • Author

Id sell it fully modified if i was offered a good price.

Crikey I cant believe its been 20 months!

Id prob strip the car back to standard and sell the parts separately.

After all that :-(

Looks like we'll just have Richard's Citigo thread which will go the distance

I think car is completed and project finished, Sy just got bored of it as I understand.

I wonder what are the final dyno figures with everything completed and tuned.

  • Author

Still got it a few months before I sell it. Hopefully at least three track days before I strip anything off the car. Hence why I'm still fitting some better brake pads and the anti roll bars etc. You never know, the next trackday with the car running 100% and all the chassis work complete she might tempt me to keep her a bit longer

I wouldnt put mine in the same league. Mines just a jumped up Fabia that uses readily available mods. His is a custom monster. I highly doubt we'll ever see a second person go to that extreme with a citago

When and where you going to track day her if you don't mind saying?

No final power figures yet?

Almost seems a waste doing it really. After you almost decided to sell it last time I wondered how long it would actually be until you did it.

Double post

Ill post them up when I get them. Back in the UK Monday so hopefully pick it up before the end of the month if I get time.

I thinking of doing either Snetterton, Bedford or Oulton park early December then Donnington at the end of the month. Need to confirm some other dates though as my wife has planned a busy december for me.

I'm tempted to keep the car till at least feb though because I'm moving up north and will be 15 mins from Croft circuit

I enjoy the modifying as much as I do the driving. I get itchy feet alot hopefully ill get back and the cars drastically improved. I've only driven it 1500 miles this last 7 months. I'm away to often recently with too Much time on my hands to conjure up plans

To be fair, it's still a nice car and very well specced.

How did the work go with APR, what kind of figures has it been producing?

Any idea on quarter mile times yet?

  • Author

I'll let everyone know how it has all gone when i collect the car. The APR cooler isnt complete yet either. Not sure when that is done.

As for 1/4 mile times, we'll have to wait until next year as all the strips are closed for winter i think.

Sy

Sorry, I thought it was finished.

See you at a quarter mile event next year then, hopefully. :)

How are you finding the H&R sway bar?

  • Author

Dont know yet mate. Only got back into the UK tomorrow. Plan on collecting the car on friday.

The ARBs were fitted today. Originally i only planned for just the rear bar, but Alex had the front/rear kit in stock so rather than than wait for another single rear bar kit to be ordered i thought do the full kit.

Alex is doing a fast road geometry check on the car next.

That looks like a pretty straight forward installation.

I wonder how much difference will it make in handling?

Sometimes having it too stiff can be detrimental but I do not think this will be the case :)

  • Author

it wont be to stiff, dont forget its only running progressive springs and its not exactly slammed.

Apparently the rear bar fits REALLY snugly and required some blood and sweat. The front bar requires the exhaust to be removed to remove/replace the bar.
