thinking of braking it..    never use it so seems a waist to me.      who would want what...?

Nooo, dont do it you'll only regret it. You'll also need to join freedom to sell anything.

Not many good examples left in one piece, and this is one of those. The MK1 vRS is fast becoming a rare beast, and demand for parts dwindling, just look at how many there are currently breaking on this forum and ebay.

granted..   but im paying for a car i dont use.    im never going to get a sensible offer on it so braking its the only option.

i paid for my freedom and lost it when the forum changed servers..  could not be arsed to persue it as colin never replied.      if i start to brake it i will pay the £12 again.  ;)

Not being used is not a bad thing, its helping the value going forward, in just the same way that the one owned by Lloyd must be 10 years old now with less than 20K on it.

i hear ya pal..      it annoys the **** outta me it sitting there tho..       the cost of insurance, the garage per month,  good chunk of cash i could put else where.

richard will not want it mate, it not a fabia, and its not his cup of tea.  lol

trust me people,  id keep it if i could,  but id rather keep the wife smiling having more money each month

I know that one I've done this 3 times in the past 4 months with vans that were just parked up as I was using my car and costing me on insurance and tax so I sold all of them in the end! The latest one to go was my Transit this morning!

Shame I'm not rich otherwise I'd buy it but I'm not and having 2 Fabias and a Clio will be enough for me especially now is time I need the money to spend on them :)

Trouble with breaking is the time it takes to sell the bits, instead of a car you could have a garage full of bits you cannot move for a year or more, especially the smaller bits. You'll still need to tax and insure the shell, and keep it mobile until you've got all the bits off.

I've still gots parts in the loft from a BMW from 2 years ago that just will not sell even at 99p

He's got the Fabia bug! :peek:

It really is a cracking mk1 Octy VRS.

Shame really that's it got so many nice parts on it that it would probably fetch more in bits than as a whole.

Not sure Gee could actually sell or break it though.

So much time and effort (not to mention skill) in that car.

so since posting this i have had much abuse..   i think ill have to much hate if i brake it...

it can sit in the garage and gain value from not being driven... will be low milage soon lol

  • 1 month later...

sometimes there are better places for money to go...   unfortunately, the octy is just sat in its unit gathering dust...  it still costs me insurance, mot and tracker for what?    to drive 3000k a year if its lucky.

i have driven that car 7 times this year and thats it!  :(
