Double Din Head unit

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Thinking of installing a double din in my skoda fabia classic 1.9sdi estate, just wanted some ideas on what others have installed and any brands that look best.

thanks in advance

Jonathan

I've got a Pioneer AVH-3200DVD which is fantastic. Couldn't recomend it enough!

I've seen a JVC AVX-640 double din unit that i'm going to install in my VRS soon. £209 from eBay. It does everything and seen a few reviews on YouTube. It has a fully detachable screen, which i think only a few have got, and if you get the ipod lead you can connect your iphone to it....then if you run your sat nav app it comes on on the unit full screen! i think it looks ace! plus it has 35,000 colour variations to match your interior lights, can't go wrong IMO.

Looks like a decent unit that bud. Might be worth getting one of those especially for that price.

I'm thinking of doing the same.  It would be good if anyone on here with a double din unit could post up a picture of it installed.

£100 cheaper than Halfrauds too.

i can't find another that'll do that much for that little money, and cannot believe the screen detaches! i've had another JVC unit from the KVX range i think it was with the single din dvd screen and that one was brilliant (just didn't match the interior!) also phil555 what are the wheels your running on your Fabs mate?

Agree, the unit does look and sound very good. Going to get myself one of them.

Wheels below bud.

17 x 8.0 Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2s in Gloss Black fitted with 205/40/17 Yokohama Prada Spec 2 tyres.

Black Alloy Wheel Bolts & Locking Wheel Bolts.

i've got the pioneer avh-3300bt in my vrs. it fits perfect. you just need a £3 piece of dash trim from the dealer to fit in the space above it

I have the Pioneer AVH-2400BT which is the cheaper version of the above mentioned AVH-3300bt. I couldnt reccomend it enough, the built in Parrot blutooth handsfree is brilliant!

Nice work chaps. I just bought the Pioneer AVH-2400BT today. Did you manage to fit it in easy enough? Going to attempt it tomorrow.

The only tight bit is the cage there not as flexible as a single din cage so take some forcing in

Do the dash lights turn green on these pioneers? What's the difference between the two different mentioned models?

i have a clarion nx501e for sale if you check my for sale thread buddy

I've fitted it all without any problems but the previous owner made a right hash of fitting a stereo and I'm missing the side trim parts that run down the side of the double din unit.

Do you know if these are Skoda parts or if they are aftermarket? I have the Skoda part that gig above the head unit. Will post pics later.

I'm liking the looks of these too, I'm after one with built in sat nav though, and not one that piggy back's off my iphone, any ideas? :)

Pioneers can do any colour near enough.

The differences are screen size button positions and styles and what files can be played on it ie DVD DVD disc with mp3 or divx and such. Also if they have bluetooth or not

The side covers you should be able to get from dealers or any breakers who have a vrs in

Good shout mate. The Pioneer unit is awesome. Button and screen colours can be changed to pretty much any colour. You can even use a JPG file off a usb drive and use it as the background. Audio quality is miles better than the OEM Skoda box. You can buy an add on for SAT NAV, think its £200 though.

I put a Pioneer unit in a friend's Fiesta about a year or so ago, can't remember what model it was or anything, but it was really really good, he got a good deal on it too and it was the sat nav one. Going to have to track it down! Got a single din jvc in at the moment which is alright, but I want phone control and sat nav in there
