Been out for a ride, saw Ben90 out on his Fazer for a second or two over in Bath.

I had the wifes lid on so he may have not have recognised me as we passed one another.

Wasn't really feeling it tonight, couple of times I wondered what's behind me???

And I usually know that so my checks weren't up to speed, I also had some young tw@

in a remapped TDI Bora playing silly bu99ers and getting too close at fairly high speeds.

Took that as a message and came home while I was still in one piece.

Earlier today I went and looked at a bike for my wife and had a blat on that.

It felt like a toy bike, I thought it was hilarious fun. I'm bidding on it tomorrow so may

need to run down there in a hire van and collect it as it's not Taxed or MOT'd yet.

Here's hoping, it's ideal for Mrs Grr.

When did they go fuel injected then? 2001? I thought the tank just got abit bigger in that year.

Headlights too. They any good? I do quite abit of riding it night when i do go out. Another reason i went for the viffer. The headlights are brill for a bike.

Went out with a mate today to meet another mate at Tintern Abbey. Then came back to AV8 in Kemble for a cuppa and saw these land. Anyone know what they are?

Shoulda blasted the bora off. They usually dont take too much getting rid of.

Used mine for shift work and hl were fine no issues

Think the tank got bigger as well but as far as I know 2001 they went fi mine was a 1996 so a very early one

At a quick guess a Canberra and possibly a pair of Hunters(not the welly type :giggle: )

Urgh. This got me looking at SP's on ebay.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/191297051683

Im never happy with anything that isnt in the best condition i can find.

So. £7k for an SP. Ouch!

Goin up in value though?

The day i get a decent one of those in my garage, iv succeeded in life. I'll take my beer fridge to the garage and take a chair in too. Then I'll just sit there all night drooling over it.

Ironically my uncle told me last week he is going to sell his SP1 as he has finally reached that point where he needs to sit upright. His is cheap in comparison and has crazy crazy money spent on it (he is a bike mechanic race and road bikes).

If its decent, does he fancy swapping a vfr800 for it? ;)

lol been his pride and joy for years, he has already got a couple of other bikes to replace it. VERY strange to see him selling it, we all thought that bike would be kept forever! He was talking £5.5K ish. Wish I had the space for it :( It's not for the faint hearted, I have owned some fast bikes but jesus, I'd be nervous taking that out!

A friend of mine has many bikes a 2000 sp1 being one of them and having had several good go on it they aren't too horrendous no worse than a TL r but they do handle better lol

The worse bike he has is the pannigale! Sooooo twitchy and highly strung! You spend the first 10 mins warming the tyre so it doesn't kill you then you stop and they get cold and try and kill you all over again! There's far too much power for UK roads! And it cost £16 k ish

I went today, it was in Fordingham. South east of me.

Went in the van. Nice honest seller.

His wife fed us flapjacks, and my Mrs had to hold his baby for a minute or two.

Tidy enough bike on a 59 plate, VERY low miles. Will need an oil change and a service

if we get it. I've got a max price in my head so we'll see whats what. It did feel funny ragging it

along at a max speed of 65 LOL I'll know if it's mine by this time tomorrow. I will be bidding but

not until last minute.

Sounds good! Theres some real bargains about if you have the patience to wait and find.

I got my 2005 CG125 with 500 miles on the clock in 2010 for £1150. Was a properly immaculate bike. Got £1300 for it when id finished with it with 17k ( i think) on the clock

I did recognise you mate! And I spotted you had your wife's lid on, I just couldn't wave mid-corner :p I would have pulled over and sent you a text but I left my phone at home. Pretty cool that we crossed paths though!

Were you off on an evening jolly too? I went up to Lansdown then along the A420 at a fun pace, the roads were empty.

Just doing my usual lap, the blat earlier on a 125 got me in the mood although as I posted

earlier, once I was out there I wasn't really feeling it today so went back home again.

Sometimes it just doesnt work

I went out saturday afternoon and just came across car after car that was doing 30 in a 60 with about 10 cars behind that wouldnt overtake. It just wasnt fun. Couldnt get into it.

Another biker here, currently riding a k6 suzuki SV1000S. Will get a picture up in a bit Been on bikes most of my life, had a big smash back in 2008 and still on 2 wheels although more of a fair weather rider these days

Very nice!

I bet that sounds lovely with that can on

I had a k1 sv650s with a beowulf can and that sounded awesome. I miss that sound.

Urgh. Dont get into Harley's!

My dad had a brief try with em. Bought one brand new in 2010. Got along with the torque from the engine, but nothing else. It wouldnt corner, it wouldnt stop cos the brakes are shocking, it blew the same relay every now and again which caused it to just stop working. It wouldnt cruise at a decent autobahn speed, even though it had bags of power. Nuts and bolts rusted when you looked at them the wrong way etc etc.

He traded it in for another r1200gs in 2012.

I'd never buy one, for me it was the noise & feel, I didn't get above 20-25mph in the yard, it had alot of relaxed grunt which I liked, I didn't notice the brakes being shocking but then I'm used to the YBR's brakes which are less powerfull than my MTB.

Could be had for 99p yet then :D

Starting bid £700, it's worth that and I'll go to £800 but no further because in reality

I have to allow for van hire. B and Q do van hire which is done on an hourly basis

at approx £14 per hour including fuel. If I get my finger out I can do the return trip

in 5 hours including dropping the bike off for a service and MOT and getting the van back.

This couple who are selling it have a 3 month old and the bike was the womans.

She stopped riding once she had a bun in the oven and the bike had been sorned

and the tax and MOT have lapsed. I've had a look over it and it will pass the MOT

no problems. An oil change, carb clean and a new spark plug and I think it will be fine.

I'd like to put bigger mirrors on it too, but that's easy enough. I have a spare tank pad

to put some protection there. They are decent people having met them and I don't anticipate

any sodding about. They were happy to let me bog off on the bike for 10 minutes and rag it

up the b road they live on for a bit, and when I returned my wife was gassing away with the couple

with a cuppa and a home made flapjack in her hand. I think she was chatting to the lady about her

foray into motorcycling. I hope we get it, my Mrs really likes it and it has a gear change indicator

which will be a great learning tool for her.  I would have preferred fuel injection but that's ok.

It's a single so no carbs to balance, but it does need taking out and loosening up a bit. It's

still very tight at 1700 miles. And the lady who rode it last isn't the redline type. The bike is

going to get a shock on its first run out with me, that's for sure.

If you buy a Harley it's middle aged biker law that you buy

some buttless leather chaps with tassles, stop shaving and wear mirrored

sunglasses even when you are indoors. Don't do it Matt! It's just not worth it. :p

'Mummy... What's wrong with Daddy???'

'Nothing dear, he's just watched a Sons of anarchy box set that's all.....'

'He said you were his old lady.... You're not an old lady mummy... Nanny is an old lady...'

'sigh'
