MCE rang me today with my insurance renewal for the gsxr, £322. When I said I wasn't sure if I was going to sell the bike they came back with 'ohh well I'm sure we can get it to much less than £300 for you'

Can't decide what to do! So tempted to sell it and get a 125 to pootle about on!

125 not be a step too far in downgrade? A lot of calmer cheap eco hacks out there to choose from :)

New lid I want Shark Vision-R. Trying to decide on design, I like to go with a majority white in a design just for the whole visibility thing but not a fan of all white.

This one is on offer at the moment and available in my size at £199!!!!!!! (£279 last time I looked)

Similar to the one I have mine is about 18 months old now so was more expensive at time but still a bargain at the show

Have the S900 at moment got it more or less when it was out was just under 300 with a discount at time I think. Similar lid but had internal visor before and was best lid at time I could find with a drop down internal one again (so handy!)

Spoiler at back is awesome I didn't realise how much difference it would make but just makes head a lot more stable at speed, especially if fighting head wind. It is a worry for vision-r not having it..... Tempted to get a new pinlock visor and insert for the S900 run it another year then just buy the S900C and keep visor.... Part of reason for change now is visor has battled some amount and had a few stone strikes so a bit scratched replacing it now is a fault economy so to speak, as I would like a pinlock one.

Random one but just looking through my pics and remembered how much cooler Dutch registration plates are over UK ones! Obviously with a tail tidy like on my old ZZR1400 it looks better, come to think perhaps UK plate is more suited to current bike as is?

Hmm maybe so! I keep looking at 400s but can't bring myself to go back to a 20 odd year old bike!

Looking at ZX6Rs too, but the 1999 - 2000 models, can pick them up for £1200 - £1400. That's half the value of my gsxr and I could justify that sitting there for the odd sunny day :)

Would be soul destroying to have a boy racer in his 1.2 chariot smoke you at the lights on your 125 and think he is a man!

Have look here

http://www.helmetcit...hark-Evoline-2/

Evoline is a great shark lid, and less than half price.

Yea that is a fantastic price for the evoline 2. I tried the original evoline and the 2 not seen the 3 in person yet. Was interested in one, jaw locking system looks like it would give full face levels of protection. But was way too expensive even for what it was at time. At £149 ....... could be the ultimate sports tourer lid for many. I will be sticking with Vision-R idea at moment as it still offers a bigger field of vision than any other full face helmet on market at moment. When I was humming and haa'ing over the evolines I decided as much as I would like the up and over, I would never ride with it in such a position as in an off I would rather not risk my lower jaw catching on the ground and being ripped off my face. I just want the protection there.

I have not seen that site before some great prices they have the Vision-R I am looking for but not in my size :( price identical but more for delivery bahhhhh. That evoline 2 is seriously cheap though really is a bargain!

Your right!

I've just been looking on eBay realising I'd be going back to carbs, no smoothness of FI and not to mention there may be repair bills etc!

Also no associated FI possible issues either though and more to play with :D . Earlier in thread I think I mentioned I had and FI error come up on the ZZR1400 (sub throttle actuator had just stuck luckily) not long before I had to make the big decision between moving down to a 64bhp Versys or 140bhp Z1000SX. As the Z1000SX feels like a moped in comparison with 80bhp drop and 40kg odd weight gain. I am very glad I didn't go straight to Versys this time!

Really do like the new bike but, it lacks the 'madness' of its predecessor some what.

I had a 2000 ZX-6R J1 from new. They're brilliant if you get the suspension set up right. Fast and comfy, and they make a great induction noise. They can suffer a bit of carb icing on very cold days, but apart from that they're spot on.

I had a zx6r j1 from new and loved it. You're right about the suspension. Probably 1 of the best bikes I had! Did plenty of trackdays and the ring on it. Sold it after 2 years with 20000 miles, thinking get bigger was better. I should have kept it a bit longer.

Should have added it was quick, had 175 on the speedo. Not the real speed but it was good to see, especially from a 600. All on track....

Mine was a totally standard bike clocked at 165mph and still pulling, at Elvington. I think it would have done a genuine 170. Quarter mile was 11 seconds dead, at 135mph if I remember right.

I kept it standard too. I tried a micron race can for one ride! Then sold it for more than I paid. It gave me a hideous headache.

Though when i bought my blade it had a race can that I loved? Must be down to the tone/frequency from them.

Sounds good guys, the J1 is the preferred one of them! How much do you think I should be paying for a decent one?

I looked recently and 2k for a really good one, though I'd haggle. Shouldn't want to pay more than 1800 for a good one.

Would someone please stop the rain now - would like to take Gladys out for a spin :wall:

On a seperate note- is it me or do Messrs McGuinness and Crutchlow look in need of a toilet visit ?? :rofl:521917_4937022141847_1844367859_n.jpg:rofl:
