Another left sider here lol, always remember from when i done my cbt the instructor said its safer from that side as you can go straight to covering the front brake incase bike pushes forward.

Just stuck with me all these years later.

So good to hear of other left siders :0) Think I missed listening to anything useful the Instuctors said to me.... Was far too mortified at fact that the course ( part one) was at a Boys School and there were no mirrors in the toilets!!!

Clearly he's not a professor of physics!!!! More speed = more height = more distance

It's the Adrenaline Crew. For anyone that doesn't know them they are similar to Jack Ass but with bikes.

Still looking at what bike to get even if I haven't passed yet. Best to be prepared and to know what to look for. Also a good sign as it shows I'm getting into it. Really looking forward to riding again. Theory is booked for a few weeks time and the only date available. Annoying really as where you do it is within walking distance of work so I could do have done it first thing. Good shout about sports tourer bikes. I want something that's nippy that I won't get bored of but is still comfortable and will be easy for a novice like me to ride. I've seen lots don't come with fuel gauges which I'd want. The bike shop in my town is a Kawasaki dealer but there's something I'm not keen on about a lot of them. But if it's easy to ride and cheap then why not. It's my first bike after all.

Been watching lots of Youtube videos for advice and some are better than others. Any must watch motorbike videos you know of I wouldn't mind seeing them. Saw the Guy Martin TT track ride and it's hard to even keep up I can't imagine riding that quick

ZZR600 has a good clear lay out and a fuel gauge :D

As for good videos I think something that looks at riding from behind like some instructors following students do a commentary then give it to the student to watch over and help them learn, sort of gives you an examiners eye view.

As an overview of what is expected step by step

Couldnt post vids all in one post.

One with the instructors summary of a lesson captions over video offer more advice

Also an example from riders view point

Vids like these can be very useful if you check the other videos the same up loader has there are plenty of good ones in there. Person narrating is an ex Police advanced instructor also ADI / Rospa / IAM instructor. http://www.youtube.c...deVIDEOS/videos

Those vids are perfect. Is the ZZR600 carb? Only had a quick Google but it was only made until 2008?

Yea all carb as far as I am aware. I loved it as a first bike, not too expensive very reliable and very forgiving for novice mistakes.

MCN review is a good overview to bike itself.

Been on MCN a lot lately and a decent review. Looks a bit odd from the front but apart from that it's got all I need

Yea front is older looking than rest of bike, just from a different era in that sense. The later ones were more rounded at front and smaller headlight than earlier ones. Look at my old one in post #1 it was an E7 I would genuinely consider getting one at right price if I needed to sell current bike to help fund buying a house, as insurance is dirt cheap for me on one and it essentially is a ZX6-R but with more comfort and slightly heavier as a result. Also over 200 miles from the wee tank if you want to is fantastic ability! Even has a little glove box on fairing lol.

In the Kawasaki family for cheaper to buy/run first bikes ER6F is sporty looking but even that is a big power drop on the old ZZR600. A lot heavier too but does look like a lot of bike for money they go for.

2005-2008 http://www.motorcyclenews.com/MCN/bikereviews/searchresults/Bike-Reviews/Kawasaki/Kawasaki-ER-6f-2005-2008/

2009- http://www.motorcyclenews.com/MCN/bikereviews/searchresults/Bike-Reviews/Kawasaki/Kawasaki-ER-6f-2009-current/

But regardless of what bike you might think is best for you and might be or have been the best for someone else, we are all different and how the actual bike fits the rider physically and their feel for the bike on the road is where the big decision will come.

I would have loved it to have a dual headlight in nose but it does have its intake slots just below so breaks it up, really loved the shape after I got used to it. Coolest thing was I bought it off my mate for £1550 and when I traded it in against another bike I got £1900 18 months later, was gob smacked :D

Not that it should be of any real concern it could do 85mph in 2nd! Speedo could get to 165mph (real speed prob 155 ish at that)

I loved my ZZR600. They're fast and comfortable and just nice to ride. They're a bit soft on the rear suspension but apart from that I can't fault them.

I read somewhere once that more people buy another Kawasaki after owning one than any other brand. I can see why that would be, they have something you can't quite put your finger on. I'm a Kwak fan.

I am on my 4th out of 5 bikes :) I have no real big brand loyalty I have a good appreciation for a fair number of bikes but when it's change time it has always seemed to be a Kawasaki fits me best. I got the gixxer one day going into RobSpeed in Grimsby looking for a ZX9-R lol and in typical salesman fashion gixxer was suggested and I did love it :D I said insurance would be too much, he called his mole in MCE and handed me phone got it for a third of what it should have cost so deal was done! Was a total minter so so so so clean not a single imperfection on entire machine! Like with all bikes I seem to regret selling them but have good reason to at time lol.

Come to think I have had ZZR600 / ZZR1200 and ZZR1400............. all I need now is the 400 and 1100 to have completed the set :D
