I wonder, is a Superb close enough to a Phaeton to make a W12 possible?

 

i think not, as Phaeton has longitudinally mounted engines vs. transverse in the superb.

Can we please not give Mr Fox any more ideas, he's busy enough as it is :D

My last update on the Citigogo.

 

It's been sat secure and well waiting to be finished at John Danby Racing in Colchester, but my interests over the last few years have move on.

What with GT-Rs, The Yeti RS, racing and starting a team, the two 2016 spec BTCC Toyota Avensis cars...  I just don't have the enthusiasm or need to finish the project.

 

Sad, but ultimately true.

My number of race and track days is already high and I have more cars than I can realistically use hence renting them out for racing.

 

So the Citigogo has been sold to Clive who runs Beach Buggy Turbos.

He has plans for it and I am looking forward to what he does.

 

Thank you everyone for following this thread, reading, posting and even making suggestions, sensible or otherwise. :)

 

Four and a half years since this idea started.

Sometimes fast progress, sometimes painfully slow progress.  But nothing for the last couple of years, it's time to let the car go to someone that has the desire to finish it.

He'd better not break it!

Does this mean we will one day see the battle between the yeti and the citygogogogogo?

Also is he carrying on the build thread?

As one of the people egging Richard on to start this project, it's been disappointing to see things stalling repeatedly and inevitably get mothballed. After watching the heartbreak and frustrations, it's great to see some taking on this project and hopefully finishing it.

TBH I understand exactly how you feel here Richard; I'd never have said so before this last update, but I was getting similar feelings of frustration about the "non progress" at a certain well known tuner.

Sad day but I did foresee this happening especially with how well the Yeti has turned out. The Fiesta "series" will be equally great let alone the GTRs and the Touring cars now.

 

A phenomenal story this has been, a bit sad that it has now come to an end under your roof as it was your brainwave in the first place that started it all. But all things don't stay the same, unfortunately for some things, and this has now been far superseded by it's alter ego which will continue to be a blast in the long distant future!

Very sad to read that you've finally bitten the bullet and sold it on.

However, your patience with the builders has been extraordinary.

As others have said, it would be great if Clive could continue this thread so we can follow the project to its conclusion.

Many of us who met you and follow your projects will be disappointed for you. I hope completion will be soon and that Richard has the chance to borrow it and go for a blast.

Pretty sure Clive is going to continue the thread, there's just no updates of such as of yet, I think he's putting a plan into place of what he wants to do before anything else is done, those who are friends with BossFox on Facebook will already know a little bit of what's to come, if I recall Clive said he would continue this thread so give it time and updates will start coming in :)

So Guys I am here and yes I will keep up the update from now on in

 

 

so since the car has come to me we are putting plans in place but lets say its a massive job and some fabrication work needed to correct a few bits etc

 

we will be taking it back to a shell and starting again with all parts to ensure its correct.

 

the car has been at the cage builders and I can say that the car now has a full msa\fia cage fitted and will be back at my workshop on Friday ready for strip down.

 

this is a massive task and a lot bigger than first thought but we will have it finished and it will be a full on track car!!!

 

 

 

 

Bit less delicate then the Halo device in F1 eh? hehe

 

Seriously though, that is hefty.  **** it that's a big frame!!  Is there room for the driver?

Fixed that for you 

Yes once built it will be open for all to have a go

 

 So its now back and into full strip down and then run all the fuel and brake lines etc 

Glad you're keeping the project and the thread going Clive! It's going to be excellent to see what you can achieve with it.

A list of whats next 

 

1. strip to a bare shell again 

2. fill any holes and make brackets etc for fuel lines brake lines etc 

3. paint inside car 

4. we will then start putting it back together mechanically as there are a fair few bits that need re doing or changing completely as we rebuild from floor up.

 

after this stage it will be then onto the new loom and ecu etc to run the beast
