Before I go through where we are now I thought it would be interesting to say how we got here.

So I went back through the whole thread and below is the list of the key things and when they happened.

 

 

July 2012 - bought ex-demo Citigo SE
August 2012 - bought TT donor, engine bay stripped, test fitted 1.8t BAM engine
November 2012 - engine mounts made, shell stripped, boot floor cut out, frame for rear diff made up
December 2012 - rear wishbones fabricated
January 2013 - rear suspension mounted
April 2013 - fuel tank, inlet manifold, radiator and intercooler package made by Pro-Alloy
August 2013 - engine built
September 2013 - gearbox fitted
November 2013 - downpipe made, dash stripped
December 2013 - cage made
January 2014 - pedal box brackets made, gear shifter mounted, seats mounted
May 2014 - cage painted
September 2014 - pedal box fitted
October 2014 - rear diff rebuilt and fitted
December 2014 - engine and gearbox fitted
January 2015 - front and rear suspension refitted with 4 stud hubs
March 2015 - driveshafts and prop fitted
May 2015 - brake discs and calipers fitted
June 2015 - Citigo collected from Jabbasport and put into storage

Thought about adding that to the first post to give new lookers an insight to the project so far? Otherwise the post might get lost as we venture forward 

So after pulling the car out of storage and going over it this is where we are.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The plan was to go over it and work out just what needed doing.

When I collected the car in June I didn't look that closely because to be honest I was tired of the whole thing after three years, with sometimes months between updates.

 

Looking at the pictures you'll notice:

 

Other than a wiring harness on the rear diff and gear indicator there is no electric system at all.

It has no braking system beyond what's bolted to the hubs.

The engine/box is sitting under the bonnet, but there is little else.  It's just bolted in, no plumbing etc... it's completely bare.

It has no exhaust.  Not even a downpipe after we changed from the EFR turbo as it wouldn't physically fit some time ago.

 

The fact is, it doesn't look a lot of work but it's more than you'd think.

It still needs quiet a lot done to it.  More than just wiring up.

Sorry if I've missed this bit but what was actually done to the engine to achieve 450bhp?

I'd also be interested on what forged bits and bobs you've used and what turbo to get that power.

I only plan 350bhp, but i want a reliable 350 in the Fabia.

Jabba built the engine to 600bhp+ drag spec and then we went for a well known turbo to give 450bhp.

No, this isn't the twin scroll version.

It's a Borg Warner EFR turbo which are made to a very high spec and have minimal lag.

Good news is it fits... with a bit of trimming to non essential metalwork.

So we back tracked and went for a proven 1.8t set up of another turbo and manifold.

 

I now have the EFR (capable of 500-550bhp apparently) as a paperweight at work.

Thought he said the efr didnt fit? If its garrett your talking gt30 at that power or the older larger t38 but its old n heavy n doubt that would fit either. Friend of mine has a td06 on his 450bhp lcr but its so laggy and he wants to go gt30. Glad this cars still around tho, just as epic as the cossie ka

Ps richard you had room for the efr, its called the boot/rear seat haha, rear mount twin turbo vettes seem to work well

Don't know if it will be any use to you, but my daughter is studying Automotive Engineering at Uni, and is apparently a dab hand with that 3d software stuff like inventor. I have no idea what's required but if you need tech drawings for the stuff I can ask her what info she would need to run you up a set of drawings.

So, where is this build at the minute, my guess is that it's away for the Christmas period, but I'd like to see it on the road! In fact I'd like to drive it :D

The car is s at JDM,

But there are a few more urgent projects on the go at the moment, Yeti and Tin Top Fiesta race car plus a few Nissan projects.

The Citigo will be finished in time.

In time for.....

It to be overshadowed by a faster Skoda Yeti and a couple of race cars.
