Also - is there any chance we could have another shot of your interior ? The Alcantara looks stunning but I haven't gotten a proper shot of the front seats - I think it really makes the car.

I'll buy ya a pint if ya do!

No probs, will sort out a few more pics in the morning, the light is fading fast now! I'll PM you my Pay pal for the pint, lol, only joking, it's a pleasure that so many on here are interested, SWMBO doesn't get cars and the kids just trash em, they're banished to the FL TSI for the foreseeable!

  • Here are a few more pics of the interior as requested, also couldn't resist giving it a quick swill (just a wash'n'wax and spray on demon shine to finish off, oh and I put some rim wax on the alloys )

  • Tried the Eco mode this morning and it managed 58mpg with a clear 22m run on the motorway at a steady legal limit speed plus a mix of 6m country lanes and 8m across Nottm via the ring road. Stop star

  • I settled the VAG finance today with cheaper funds borrowed on my mortgage. It cost me £9.48 for 6 days accrued interest since signing the finance papers, no cancellation fees for withdrawing within

I like the shark fin style aerial. Is that a factory standard thing? I used to have a stubby aerial on my Fabia and thinking about getting another one for the Rapid, don't like the long aerial on it :(

Yep thats factory standard at least for all cars with sat nav, not sure what the lower spec cars come with.

Yep, I think it is standard when sat nag is fitted, it's piano black too but I think bolero units get the one with the long aerial.

Having just checked the photo of Octy 3s on auto trader only those with sat nav have the sharks fin, those without don't have any visible aerial, they probably have one integral to the rear screen.

Shark fin will be the GPS antenna then I'd guess. I did actually wonder when people were telling me to upgrade my standard stereo to an Amundsen how it would receive GPS signals. Think I'll stick to the TomTom + Brodit clip, cheaper :)

Is it the amundsen you Got?? Have is the Sound? Does it sounds better than the Stock radio?

It looks a beauty mate .you enjoy no date for mine yet

Yes, I got Amundsen, with standard speakers, compared to the old Columbus with standard speakers in the Superb, first impressions are that the sound is better. So far have only adjusted the sound to increase base, reduce middle and treble and fade more to rear, that seems to suit my taste in 80s rock music! Can't compare to the Bolero, but based on the old Bolero in SWMBOs car, compared to old Columbus, I would expect sound quality to be similar, unless you upgrade to Canton.

Ohh And Matt. Please..... those rear mudflaps..... Takes me back to the good old Cortina days. Sorry but they have to go too. :giggle:

Sorry pal, if you get your way, I'd be stripping it for parts and selling on ebay! At least they match the front ones that the dealer threw in for free!

Congrats...car looks great. Mine will be late July so a bit of a wait yet.

Looks good in the race blue, I went for silver in the end but I was also considering Denim Blue and Race Blue. The only reason I discounted the Race Blue is because I currently have a Toyota in Island Blue which is pretty much the same colour, so fancied a change. I like the Denim Blue and changed my mind a few times between that and Silver before I eventually made my mind up.

Enjoy the new ride!

Sorry, had to delete some of the pics uploaded yesterday as I exceeded my allowance!

My main problem is I do about 500 miles a week, mainly on motorway, so will be fighting a losing battle in the long run, the Superb is battered with little stone chips all over the front end!

I only do about 350 a week, mostly hills and countryside so I have to batter with the odd stone and mud, I'm going to be so paranoid about keeping it clean. I'm thinking about investing in a pressure washer as I will be very proud of it and want it looking brand new. I am going to let the Girlfriend drive it, if I had kids though, I'd make them wear radiation suits!

I think a couple of clean sponges and a few buckets of clean water + hose will be kinder to your car than a pressure washer.

Must get a set of those front mud flaps for mine. Love those wheels!

Im just kidding :giggle: its your car and it looks vere nice. Here in Denmark we have to pay extra to get folding mirrors on elegance models. is it worth paying extra or is just waste of money?? cant decide..

I love the folding mirrors, they can be programmed to fold automatically or can be folded via the mirror control on the drivers door. As to whether they are worth it it depends on individual circumstances, for me they would be ad I previoulsy manually folded my mirrors on previous cars.

My understanding is that folding mirrors are standard on UK Elegance models, but the optional extra includes puddle lights - is this the case?

Puddle lights seem to be fitted to mine so must come as part of the folding set up, which as mentioned is standard on UK Eleg. Set up is also better than on the Superb, as you had to hold the lock button on key fob for 3 sec to fold, as Stokey says, you can set to fold automatically on the Octy.
