MY CAR IS IN! Monte Carlooooo! (First Car)

I think we can do away about 90% of your post, George, and restrict it to the inheritance or rich parent scenario, at an educated guess

I think you need to wake up and smell the coffee.

Open your eyes and your mind. See the world that is there not just as you think it is.

Lots of wealth about all over the place, visit a airport car park to get a real idea.

Rich parents are not the reason often for rich young people.

It is often the case, but i know some very wealthy young people.

Dundee and the Games Industry made that the case many years ago.

I knew some young guys that were Ebay Sellers and have never had to do a job for an employer ever since.

They sold the stuff before they had it, then went and bought (cheaper) & then post it off.

New cars & travel ever since they left school.

george

I'm not naive, George, I don't need to wake up and smell anything thank you very much

You are the one talking of 'many years ago' and 'the 70s'

16 year olds do not walk into cushy highly paid jobs these days (especially in the fishing industry) as they may have done 'many years ago'

You are so wrong it is unreal.

But you just believe that if you want.

You need to get out and meet a few more grafter, labouring, scaffolding, roofing etc.

Some Young Farmers, male or female.

I know window cleaners at 17-18 year old that probably earn double your best years income ever.

Thats not on a ladder, Rope Acccess.

Young guys in their early 20's working on shore and off paying £5,000 in taxes a month.

george

Maybe Jay has spent the past years collecting coppers and took them to one of those change machines in the supermarket? Tesco sell cars now so entirely plausible. Isn't it

17-18 year olds

Early 20s

Relevance?

Only daft ones put the coppers in the machine and loose 9%,

Easy enough to count, put in plastic bags and trake to the odd bank that still takes cash in bags.

the smart ones open a Saving account and deposit money and pay no tax on interest earned and become of interest to Banks if they need to borrow. Smart ones only borrow if they need to, they know how to work.

They earned in the time from 16-18 and paid the courses that allowed them to go to the jobs for the big money.

Earned when 16-17 and could have bought a car, but paid a course, do the hours required to do the next level course.

Not all young people are lazy.

Some do 2 or 3 paper rounds,14 and 15 years old,

or a milk round, do a Sunday paper round, hold an evening Shelf Filler job and go to college.

Lots of earners out and about, you see them get a Moped at 16 maybe and a car at 17.

Well you do in the world i live in.

george

Come on gents, surely you lot know what's gunna happen when it gets to the point when it steps over the line.

Just keep your handbags in the cupboards.

I do not care if wrong, i am giving one side of a story on young people and why they might buy a car or how they can.

Many will get given a car.

Maybe the OP has a reason he will give or its understandable it is not anyones business.

grrr is  just being nasty, which is just water off my back, & his right.

no input to the thread on where the subject went on 16 or 17 year old picking up a car,

just trying to get a dig in at me, fair enough, but thats his thing.

Mines is talking trash as far as many are concerned.

Scotland has not got everything, but parts have what other parts of the UK has, areas of London, Cheshire, Sandbanks for example, many places.

not all poverty and benefit claimants.

Some helpful and useful points to consider before taking part

in this thread.

1. In the Fabia 2 Forum George is the font of all knowledge and

has never been known to be wrong on any topic.

2. The Fabia 2 vRS is the best ever car ever and is better than any car ever

or even the Millenium Falcon.

3. Deciphering the witterings of George makes marginally more sense if you

use this. http://www.yodaspeak.co.uk/index.php but don't expect miracles.

4. Scotland has got everything right.

This post deserves to go down in the annals of Briskoda history as one of the best posts EVER :)

Annals or Anals, that is quite appropriate given the poster of that posts current situation.

I do run from the mouth quite a lot.

That's below the belt even for you, George

To make reference to anyone's serious medical situation is lower than low, but coming from someone who dribbles from the mouth and talks out of his @rse it's probably all we can expect (please don't send me any more patronising PMs after this)

I wish him well, can humour not go each way,

Pot Kettle Black and all that,

funny what some see as a joke and others take offence at.

Just because i take abuse and others tripe & do not mind, Funny people & sensibilities here.

george

I don't mind, it's keeping my mind off my stitches.

No offence meant against you, and really best wishes.

(i have now got the Sweaty Sketty Girls as a ringtone, the Youda bit.)

george

Guys,

Can we keep this on topic please.

It doesn't matter where he got the money from to fund his purchase, and he doesn't have to answer that to anyone.

You can continue your dialogue elsewhere... and be mindful of the insults

Sorry Jay, enjoy your new car and look forward to seeing the custom graphics

Cheers

Damo

Im glad that you love your citigo! they seem a great little car! :')

i havent yet driven it so couldnt comment on the handling. but ive been taken out in one with the same engine, and i would say for what it is its a great little powerful engine.

id say the dash is really good, looks great! ive gone for the Tech Spec, so i have the SatNav, with bluetooth.. and the ESP Button, which i didnt even know about haha.. also i have an armrest and the full size spare wheel.

i would say that it was deffiently worth having them put on, i had the bluetooth mainly as a safety feature that my dad wanted me to have.

and no i have just gone for it haha! :')

Enjoy your citigo mate! is it the elegance?

I feel quite sorry for the OP he started this thread saying how excited he was that his new car was at the dealership and is turned into a complete off topic bicker! Who cares how old he is or where he got the money for the car? He's excited, and rightly so. I'm sure he will be just as excited about his next car and the car after that. ...I've had several cars, new and used, and I still get excited when I collect them. If he hadn't said he was 16 I'm pretty sure this post would have been a lot shorter.

Enjoy the new car when you can drive it Jay and until then enjoy washing it ;)

Now you really are showing a lack of maturity

He's 16.

And excited.

I think I can forgive him getting a bit carried away.

Just not sure about saying the dash looks good.. with those three big plastic heating dials from years ago. ;)

I have to say, the Tech would have looked a lot better with Climatronic.

The Amundsen Nav has the much nicer dials and in a Fabia looks like it's been put in the wrong car.

But that's a personal opinion.

Good luck with the new car OP and don't worry, not every thread on Briskoda goes down the toilet. :)

(although text speak and adding "haha" to the end of every sentence do help a bit) ;):D
