That's interesting!

I've bought an ex-demonstrator which didn't have cruise control on it and they told me they are retro-fitting it this week!

Which dealer was that by the way?

It most certainly is interesting. Let's hope it happens for you and we can go back to our dealers and give them the good news :giggle:

You've got me worried now!

The dealer actually contacted me about doing it. I was looking at another Octavia that had CC but didn't have some other feature I wanted and he called me up and said 'I've got this other one which has everything apart from CC but I can get it fitted by the service team'

I did get him to write me a letter confirming they would fit the CC for free before signing the finance contract.

I better not name the dealer in case they've made a **** up!

I don't think VAS will allow dealers to code items that were not there when the car left the factory without authorisation from Skoda.Sent from my phone so please excuse brevity and spelling

Good luck with that, I haven't seen any info anywhere on coding cruise control on the MQB platform. Some things that were simple to do on the A5 chassis with VCDS still haven't been documented for the MQB, component protection and encryption are involved.Sent from my phone so please excuse brevity and spelling

I also purchased an octy from the show room without cruise control, as soon as this is done I will defo. Getting it fitted.

Skoda UK rang me back today regarding my email about this. They've told me it's now possible and the parts should be available to the dealer. So i'm booked in for Wednesday next week. Just hope that they're right!

Good news for you. My breath is bated until next Wednesday!

Reassuring that!

Spoke to my dealer today who said the service guys have ordered the part as they didn't have it in stock and it should be in this week so fingers crossed.

Be interesting when they come to code it seeing as most dealers can't enable cornering fogs, rain closing, both rear fog lights etc etc, all of which are a doddle compared to coding cruise.

Great news but, how much are they charging ?.

SUK gave two part numbers to the dealer, one for the stalk etc, and one for a disk with the coding software apparently.

Not cheap, about £350 fitted.

I don’t suppose you can get those part numbers? Would be good to go to the dealer armed with those!

You have PM

...and for me too please Mike.

So, not that different to the price I was quoted back on post 15 of these thread, I ordered the Elegance eventually, I wanted the cruise, floor mats & 225 tyres with the depreciation on a spec'd up SE being more than the basic Elegance kinda seemed the right move.  Just forgot tell the wife about the half leather she doesn't like.

Cool, so the dealers don't even have to know how to code it!

Did they get round to trying this week in the end?

Not yet - spoke to the dealer this morning and the part hasn't arrived yet

Mike,

Have been attempting to get cruise fitted to my Octavia since September last year, just seen this thread. Would you mind sending me the part numbers too as I'm getting no where with my dealer.

Thanks in advance

Dave

Suggestion, might it be a good idea to post the part numbers in the thread?

I really think there should be a third part number......... for the right foot rest

And a fourth for a dealer that can actually get it to work once the parts eventually turn up  :giggle:

Well this afternoon will be the moment of truth on this one hopefully. Although I'm not particularly confident it's going to work. I'll update this evening. If it does work I'll put the part numbers they used on my car up, but not much point otherwise.

Even if, and it's not what we're all hoping, it isn't sorted it would be good to hear the whys and wherefores. Keeping fingers crossed for you.
