Cheers John :)

Great pics.

Any pictures of your setup? I want to swap from a pipercross panel filter. Not sure if the standard one is any good for 230bhp though

Will take you one :)

The standard air box/filter is easily capable of 230bhp. That's all I run on mine

Looks great. Do you have a link to the centre caps you got?

Car looks terrific as ever and a nice list of mods. About to tackle our suspension, (tending towards the B12 kit..) can I ask what height you have yours at? And do you worry about ramps, speed bumps, undulations etc?

Thanks

James

Thanks. It's on KW coilovers,so don't know how much it's lowered soz.

Could measure floor to sill lip distance if you want?

The only thing that catches, when it's fitted,is the engine undercover on speed humps.

Never touched anything else :)

Just read the full thing, I didn't know about the engine trouble!

Do you know what's caused the damage then?

I didn't think to plug VCDS in when the engine went, doh.

But when I put new one in and got it running EML was on so I checked on VCDS and it came up with two faults relating to cylinder two, first one was injector fault cylinder two, second one was misfire cylinder two.

So going by that the injector failed, and it was on a long WOT run so melted nicely :(

Not up dated this in a while, car is doing its job well,131k mlies now :)

One thing that really did get on my nerves was the delamination on the rear screen,so I got a SE tinted one fitted.

Also picked up the rear four side windows from a Sport to match.

Old delaminating screen

Not done much exciting to the car recently, apart from fitting a set of Sport seat belts ;)

New inserts fitted to the KW front coil overs, fitted a pair of Bilstein B8's to the rear as they came up cheap on here and KW pi*sed me off as they refused to sell me new inserts for the front coil overs, they want you to send the coil over in for them to fit the insert which takes all of 5 minutes and charge £15 each to do,FY KW.

Unfortunately for them they supplied the part number for the inserts on the original email so I googled it and bought a pair of inserts from Supra sport in the Netherlands slightly cheaper than KW quoted for them anyway!

Couple of age related jobs to fix now,MAP sensor wiring has broken, low tone on horn has packed up,and pass side fog light is cracked. :)

Coskev, How have you found the LSD? I'm contemplating having one in mine, But I cant imagine its worth it if only ever been driven in anger in straight lines?? (because of my wheels and stupid tyres)

Thanks, Jack

It'll grip more, meaning you can stretch some Nankangs with 165 width tyres and still get some grip :p

I wouldn't be without an LSD since having them in my last few cars, but if you don't drive hard then it probably is a waste.

LSD is awesome if you like being to use all the power the car can produce :)

After going in Joes GTB1756 powered car data logging in the wet it made me realise how good the LSD is,and it makes the car safer to drive.

Joes car on WOT runs logging will wheel spin at 75-80mph in fourth gear with no LSD :)

Having driven mine extensively with no LSD, then fitting the Quaife after, I can honestly say that it's one of the best mods you can do to a FWD car. The difference is incredible in the corners!

I must admit though, that I don't so much see the benefit in a straight line. Yes, it is marginally more tractable, but it still struggled in the wet.

The real win is the transformation in the corners. It made the car do what I thought was impossible! Let's be honest, the chassis on the Fabia isn't the best (my standard Mk2 Focus Zetec S would leave it for dead around the bends!), but the LSD does genuinely transform it into something that can be driven fairly quickly. Without fear of finding the nearest hedge through a massive understeer moment!
