I've recently bought a Skoda fabia estate mk1 which is brilliant to drive but I have some warning lights come on and staying on, these being the engine light ABS and traction control lights. I've had it hooked up to a diagnostic machine and the engine light was the egr valve which apparently was checked and is fine, the ABS and traction control light weren't on at the time the engine light was on and I've since done my own diagnostic check and it's come up with the error code 00301 ABS return flow pump, But I've read through these pages and it would appear to be either a wiring issue or a blown fuse, The problem I'm now having is I can't seem to be able to find the fuse's to check them and the manual is next to useless so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Fuses are under the panel on the drivers side and only visible with the drivers door open. Use your key to prise off the panel.

And some higher current ones, including the ABS 40A one, are on top of the battery, in a little compartment with a hinged lid.

Any idea what number the fuse's are in?

As you look from the front of the car, they go 1-6 Left to Right for the main strip fuses, then there are some smaller fuses in another compartment to the right of No.6

Fuses in the battery cover are open so a blow there should be very obvious.

Many thanks to everyone who has posted on this forum. This fault came up on my wife's car this morning. After searching the fault I found the solution here. Checked the fuse and it's broken. Many thanks to all who contribute here it's an invaluable resource.

Does anyone know what fuse powers the lights behind the switches etc please?

Fuse 36, 5 amp.

Also supplies the number plate lights, so check if they are working or not.

Sorted it now, 'her' ashtray light didn't work : "HOW MUCH FOR A BULB??" I took the bulb apart and fitted an led in it's place..

(Drilled through the plastic bulb carrier and put spade connectors on the end of the cable to plug it into the socket.)
Luckily, I have a few 5mm 12v white led's laying about!

SKODAPARTS want 14.19€ just for this piddly little thing! (You can't see the mounting/plug when it's fitted, so bolleaux to them!)

I remember getting one for my mk1 octy, from the main dealer. Even the parts dept manager (also my “Indy mechanic” outside work hours) was looking at it like wtf kinda bulb is that?! He only charged me about 5quid at the time in 2014.
