VCDS Options

Featured Replies

Thought I would compile a list of what we think are the best options to be enabled with VCDS. I'll start off with

1) Anti Hijack

Selective locking and teardrop wipe

What does teardrop wipe do?

What does teardrop wipe do?

When you use washers the wipers wipe, stop for a while and then perform another wipe to clear the dribbles.

Mine was MPH screen on the maxidot.

Switch off the seat belt chime/bong,

Activate the cornering fog lights,

Replace the Xenons with the fogs for coming/leaving home lights

Activate the front fogs as DLR in addition to the standard DLR bulb

Show a large digital speedo in maxidot display.

Increase the indicator turn signal from 3 to 5 flashes,

Activate the needle sweep on dash(all the needles sweep from bottom all the way round to the max, then drop back again upon start up. Pointless, but still puts a smile on my face everytime).

Can fogs be used for leaving / coming home lights on a pre FL?

No, FL only.

Thanks Mike. I hadn't seen any obvious way so not surprised. Shame though as would have been useful to protect the Xenon bulbs for what is a very helpful feature.

Cornering fog lights. What do they do and how do they work?

Not got maxidot on my FL se model but got kmh indicator when I start to move , can I change this mph or can it only be done if you have maxidot, looked around couldn't find option to make windows roll up from key fob,

You need maxidot for the large MPH display.

The comfort closing can be coded with VCDS.

I like them, but they don't seem to come on with indicator stalk Mike, just when I turn the wheel at slow speeds

Is this an option within the option?

My LE does

Thanks Mike

Whitby here we come one of these days!!

In my pre FL the cornering fog lights come on with the indicators....

In my case it is just how it works, it is not selectable like that.

Adam

Switch on rain closing windows

Switch on Scandinavian DRLs

Switch on anti-hijack

Switch on alarm chirps

Switch on CH/LH lights

Switch on twin rear fog lights

Switch on cornering fog lights

Alter weight of power steering (only on earlier cars)

Can we have the bits and bytes on these:)

Maybe a silly question as the post is VCDS options, but I am due to be getting a FL Oct VRS in the next couple of weeks and wondered which from these options are accessible and can be changed via MaxiDot or do they all require VCDS?

Thanks

No much TBH ahm

Selective unlocking

Alarm chirps

DRL’s

CH/LH lights (providing they have been actives previously)

Can all be turn on and off in the maxidot.

Some of these features cannot be done by the dealer as they don't have the equipment to do it.

I want the ch lh but can't get it to work. I was told I needed to have rain sensor or auto lights. Have tried lots of vcds options.

Anyone with fl 2010 with standard light and no rain sensor got the ch lh working.

Can cornering fog lights be programmed to a 56 plate pre face lift Octy?

Most posts refer to post facelift, just wanted to check.

Thanks

Maybe... maybe not...

It depends which controller you have as some of the earlier ones don't support it.

I have it on mine and it's a pre-FL MY08 car.

Phil

A safety coding option is to disable comfort opening of the windows via the key... this byapsses a potential security flaw.

Phil

Thanks Phil, it were registered January 07 so I expect the build date was Nov/Dec 06.

Will see tonight what is on it as I'm getting the lights coded to accept the HIDs.

Also looking to do if it's reasonably straight forward:

Alarm Chrps

Both rear fogs on

Switch on Cornering fogs

Switch on tear drop

You should have no problems with any of those but the cornering fogs may or may not be there.

Just go through all the bytes and see what's there.

Phil

Cornering fogs came in with 07 plate cars.

Not all it didn't. My '07 doesn't and I have tried to enable them.

As above, you need to check you have an appropriate controller fitted.
