HID H7 Kits for Fabia with Projector Headlights

Recommended Posts

And just don't forget that if you want really good lights to bin the 6000K lamps and get some 4500K ones. I bought 5000K and they were too blue and really not that much better than high quality Halogens. The 4500K are lots better. I've got some 3000K bulbs on order to see if they are better still.

We fitted 6000k for Matty tonight, nice and white, surprisingly so.

Side by side they were noticeably whiter than my 4300k set up in the same projector lamp units.

OK, there's some very decent research that as ambient light levels drop, and your eye's iris opens up, the perception of whiteness drops in colour temperature so looking around at dusk with your 6000K headlamps they may look white but as it comes to total darkness they'll look blue.  I live on an unlit road so my perception will need a lower colour temperature light.  If you're driving around primarily in street lit areas then a higher colour temperature lamp will look white. I guess my point is that you should consider where the majority of your night driving will be before choosing the colour temperature of your lamps and that my previous post was a little to focussed on my own position.

Some pics here but these were taken by my phone so not soo good. They don't do the justice. The light output is really nice and white.

Not some "chavy" blue even though you might think that's the case looking at these pics:

I'll take some pics of where my ballasts and everything else are placed but thanks to Johny5ive these are fitted very professionally and look really good under the bonnet. We used some Number Plate Tape from Halfords and it looks like this does the trick

I can't comment on that one as I never had any 4300k HID Bulbs fitted but what I can definitely say is this 6000k and light output I'm getting from it is million times better than any of the halogen H7 bulbs I have tried (bear in mind I spent well over £100.00 on these bulbs).

I know where you are coming from and as Johny5ive mentioned once my kit was fitted we compared both and mine were brighter and more white, however we both we unable to compare the actual light output and which ones perform better on the road. I brought two kits with me, one 5000k and one 6000k, we decided to fit the 6000k t match my Philips LED Side Bulbs which are 6000k and kit matched really well.

All I know is if you have Projector Headlights and want to feel safer during night time driving invest in some HID kit and choose the kit that ticks all your boxes.

Yeah there is more visible light output the lower k you go.

Mines 5000, and has a little blue. I think its a nice compromise for more classy looks and output.

My mates got 8000k in his civic. Its hmm. Chavvy and not as bright to the eye haha

I might buy 5000k bulbs soon and see how both compare but if I'm honest, I'm happy with these 6000k and I think these look and perform great...

They look great Matty!

Took my car for its first night spin down the A38 just a moment ago after work, obviously to test out the HIDS and most definitely not to stay in 4th and clear the DPF light D:

However I was dead pleased with them on there. If anything, I really think they still need raising a little but I can do that soon. Then I switched on full beam on an empty stretch... WOW!!! The range of them is purely amazing!! Which backs up my theory that the projectors need raising a little.

Now to try and find some decent LEDs for the sidelights as I'm still using the standard bulbs. Any recommendations lol?

Thank you. Yeah. I'm really pleased. Can't believe the difference they make...!

Re the LEDs...buy some decent ones as I used to spent £3-£4 a set and these started flickering after one month and I absulutely hated that and decided to buy some genuine Osram and Philips ones (I currently have Philips ones fitted). Both brands give you warranty and both look really good.

I'll take few pics today and post here so you can have a look.

These are the ones I currently have:
Philips 0730151 129666000KX2, T10, W5W, Blue Vision LED by Philips http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B003TLNURC/ref=cm_sw_r_udp_awd_p6Zytb1AST6K3

As these are the ones I ordered two sets as they were on offer and still are ;) :
Osram 2880SW-02B Replacement LED Bulbs, Twin Blister, Set of 2 by Osram http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00I409JR8/ref=cm_sw_r_udp_awd_47Zytb13CDXXK

The Philips ones are great and look very nice. They give nice and crisp white light and transform the car. I know they are pricey but trust me, changing the side bulbs it's a right pain so if you buy these and fit the they will last long time.

Here are the pics with the side ones and HID kit on:

We have used the Number Plate Double Sided Tape to mount the ballasts and so far everything looks good and secure. I drove straight after I fitted these and to work today with no issues at all...

And HID kit on:

I'm really happy with these not sure why I waited sooooo long to install the kit...

Are you saying you fitted both bulbs but once these are on the colour is different...?

When I was fitting my kit, each plastic bulb cover had the sticker with the 6000k on it and both were exactly the same, both saying 6000k.

I also fitted the Terminator Kit I think I made the right decision buying this one.

Check these plastic bulb covers and see what the stickers say.

No sticker on bulb covers or any where else , just on the side of the box.Ticked H7 5000k.

Have a look at this pic. my bulb covers looked the same and had H7 and 6000K details on it:

if you bought from HIDs Direct yours should look the same...Might be worth contacting them (you already did) and ask what did they send you.

That doens't look right to me as my kit arrived in the same box, same options were ticked (mine was 6000k) and I had little stickers on the covers confirming what bulbs I have...Hmmmm...Not really sure what to say and was trying to help. The worst thing is you don't know which bulbs you have and which one to replace... Do you know what bulb they're sending you...?

BTW the pic I posted is not the pic of my bulbs, it was just to show you how these should look like... ;)

Have a look at my post above, 6000k kit installed and both look the same to me. Slightly blue when you put them on but go white after 10-20 secs once they warm up.

I'm pretty sure HIDs Direct will sort you out as they sent me some bulbs by mistake, I contacted them next day and my kit was desptached same day and arrived next one. I was really happy with their service and after care.

Spoke to Hids , they said that there could be a mix up with the bulbs when they were packaged ,they are sending me another bulb , I sent them a photo of the lights and they said to change the drivers side that looks bluish for the new one, just hope he is right , as you know they are a pig to change. I have just looked at their web page showing the Terminator set and mine is exactly the same , their photo shows the same bulb covers as I have.

mine are the terminators and I had labels on the wiring near the plugs stating 5000k. Both bulbs have the return electrode facing up?
