Just been on the DVLA website and the number plate is genuine and not made up the show.The car was first registered in 1991.

This is almost laughable but allegedly local war veterans claimed that one of the number plates represents UK casualties and another is 'close' to Argentinian casualty numbers.

Close....If if the number was off by 20, 45, 789 they would still be whining.

the last couple of seasons have been a bit cr@p.

even down to the "reasonably priced car" now being an astra. Compared to the old Lliana, its quite fancy!

the RPC should be, in essence, an underpowered, cheap, tinny bucket.

 

I reckon it could be saved, if they went back to basics - shoot outs with normal cars, like the Up! Fiesta, Sandero road trip,

just without the "lets drive to Chernoble" bit.... Every episode becoming about this weeks mental money hypercar started getting a bit tedious..

If they took away all the stupid stuff and toned down the supercars, you would have 5th Gear. Top Gear isn't an information show about cars, its car-related entertainment and no matter how much people moan about it, it is extremely successful at being that.

He also said the numbers 646 on James May’s Lotus could be taken as a reference to the 649 Argentinian casualties.

Lets see if the Producer continue with saying that it was not a chosen car for the Reg Number & nothing was meant or intended by using it.

This program formula passed its sell-by date after the first three seasons. Apart from the huge World-wide sales generated by anything that can crawl from under a stone parting with its money (BBC Cash cow) , what's the enterntainment value now of this program ? There's about three standard program variants that have been used for the last 12-13 years. How boring's that ?

 

Wake-up BBC, the Lad culture died with FHM and Loaded.
