  • You'd have to be a bit daft to think there won't be. Ford has (unlike other car makers) realised that loads of people remap and found a way to influence what people do to their cars. At least by off

  • This is my one, love the little beast.

  • Makes you wonder why so few makers do have an approved remap available. You'd think it would be better for VAG to be involved in a safe remap for it's products that just leave the door open to a mult

Just another Hot Hatch at Hot Hatch prices,

not a Mega Hatch or Mega prices.

It's amazing how far Hot hatches have gone in the past 20 years....

In 1995 the Clio Williams was king with 150ps top wack of 134MPH and 0-62 in just under 8 seconds, now hot hatch needs to have 190ps to even be considered a hot hatch....

I really love the Abarth 500, but oddly only the 135bhp basic version I used to have. Recently tried a 180bhp 595 and I'm sorry to have to report I thought it was an absolute dog. Such a big disappointment! Tramlines very badly and the ride was just diabolical. The bigger wheels and stiffer suspension over the base version didn't do it any favours. The handling wasn't great either and the car I drove had a naaaasty pull to the left (worse than mk2 fabia lol). The 595 seats looked stunning but the driving position in them was poor -perched way too high for me. Also disappointed in the Monza exhaust. Sounds ok from the outside but inside didn't seem to add anything. Wanted to love it but just didn't do it for me. Reckon these are best enjoyed for what they are in the base 135bhp version, where they are also cracking value. :-)

You're right - just had a look and basically new and new-ish 500s can be had for not a lot of money - however, there's a big leap in prices (to £18k / £19k) for the 180 versions (a huge premium that seems hard to justify to me).

Sir Arnolds employees will be lining up to 'sell you happy' between now and March.

Any model in any colour at 'much cheapness' if they have one on its way, or Ordered for a Build.

RRP's are just an indication, nothing like you have to pay to buy one.

Arnold has a 2015 pre-registered 500 (10 miles on the clock) at his Abarth dealership in Glasgow for £11,300 - much cheapness.

Brian i really do not fit in a 500.

Well i do, but like a glove.

?

Have you ever looked at an Alfa Romeo Mito, with the 172ps Engine and TCT gearbox.? (Quadrifoglio Verde Mito)

I fit in them, and am comfortable much more than in the Fabia, love the gearbox and the 'DNA' switch and the way they go.

A bit marmite in looks, and 3 door, but bargains can be had.

Well worth a road test in one.

Spending more than £20K on a new car seems painful to me when VAT is at 20% ie a £4K tax donation to the Government so the £20K Clio RS, just taken segment B Ring records seem best of 2015 new cars to me and a huge choice of upgrades as it has its own race series.  Eventual replacement to my Fabia 2 VRS as Skoda are not doing hot hatches any more.

How good it is around the M25 is maybe more important than some record at 'The Ring'.

(Still about 'Ring comfort' sort of thing!!  & Wet Rings.)

Hopefully a 'Warm Fabia Estate' is coming soon.

Something with some Oomph (150/192 ps) & Handling & experience from Skoda's Motorsport Heritage, not just a 'Sporty name',

Contrasting Colours & Stickers.

The Clio RS would be very at ease on the M25 or elsewhere in the over-populated SE of England or crawling through the Birmingham or M6 conjection with its auto-box and if anything softish suspension for a hot hatch.  Many Clio RS die-hard says this Mk 4 Clio RS is too soft but it sounds just right for me.  The Fabia 2 VRS had too much body roll as standard.  I worry for a Fabia 3 as if it did get made, and with the excellent 192hp twin injector 1.8TSI engine I am worried the price might be around £18K which is too close to the Polo/A1 etc when I only paid about £14K for my 180hp Fabia 2 VRS ie more of a value brand bargain.  Would like to see Dacia/Renault  do a warm Sandero RS based on the Clio 3 for around £15K, it would sell I think.

Have you driven the 1.6T RS200 or Trophy 220 yet.?

Good fun, nice interior, silly Clio back window.

Not yet but hoping to when the weather improves.  My local dealer changed from Skoda to Dacia-Renault but not the RenaultSport part of it so unlikely to get a Clio RS but perhaps will try and try one in Birmingham.

Six seconds to 60 mph car for a circa £20K car sounds right to me.  Don't expect it to be perfect for that sort of money.  Older Clios felt a bit small for someone over 6ft tall but Mk4 seems better.  Not sure about the sound generator system to make it sound like the Nissan-Renault group's GTR, a bit teenager, now sounding like a V6?

Just driven a new octavia around over xmas, very impressed even though just a 1.6 diesel. Going to have to change my leon in the summer, the octavia put itself back on the radar.

So i see on the other threads that there are Discounts to be had,

like with the M135i, Honda Civic Type R, Golf R / R Estate, Seat Leon Curpa / Cupra ST.

2016, First Quarter, new registrations coming, Demonstrators to sell, Pre Reg and cars built in stock to get shot of.

?

What real  bargains have you seen with these warm / Hot hatches or even the Mega Hatches & Estates, Mercedes A45 / 45CLA AMG,  Audi RS3, Volvo V60 Polestar, etc etc

Any 'Much Cheapness' deals going you care to share?

Sorry i think you missed my point.

Which car from 'Keith's Mega Hot Hatch 2015'  thread is now available in the 'Bargain Bucket' class of 2016.

Greatest thing since sliced bread,

and about to be eclipsed by the likes of the Ford Focus RS / BMW M2 and other greatest things since sliced bread 2016.

George,

Wasn't replying to your question raised

The insert is separate to that.

OK, sorry i  understand,   Hothatch?

Wrong thread then,

Diesel AWD warm hatch from Skoda, heavy and not much poke,  Neither Hot or Mega Hot just some marketing,

and a economic and competent car hopefully.

Might sell like Hot Cakes, and get bought as Keepers.

Roll on Skoda UK Discounting if they do not.
