  • You'd have to be a bit daft to think there won't be. Ford has (unlike other car makers) realised that loads of people remap and found a way to influence what people do to their cars. At least by off

  • This is my one, love the little beast.

  • Makes you wonder why so few makers do have an approved remap available. You'd think it would be better for VAG to be involved in a safe remap for it's products that just leave the door open to a mult

Wasn't sure which was the relevant thread to post this, but it's probably this one. It made me laugh and think of a member or two on Brisky :D it comes from Sniff petrol and is part of their fun take on the VW diesel 'crisis'

My cars faster than yours and cost a lot less ;P

or read it below

There was more trouble for VW today with news that a mk4 Golf TDI driven by Gary Kestrel of Coventry doesn’t make the ‘easy 250 horsepower’ claimed by its owner, despite being ‘chipped and ****’.

‘Gaz is always going on about how much power his Golf’s got,’ said a source close to Mr Kestrel, his mate Fat Carl. ‘But then the other night in the Horse & Jockey, Welsh Ken told him he was full of ****.’

The consequences of this remarkable expose are yet to be seen but could sting Mr Kestrel to the tune of 18 billion times he will have to delete a post on an internet forum written under the user name ‘Torquemaster’ and in which he claims to have ‘burnt off’ some kind of supercar.

‘I wouldn’t feel too sorry for Gaz,’ said confident Tony Tits. ‘His Golf still leads the way on other things, like making a kitten huge racket on start up and dumping a massive black cloud of **** behind it every time he accelerates.’

I prefer the Sniff petrol take on the BMW badges & exhaust noises seeing as though the BMW's are so good out of the box the first thing people do is fit different exhausts.............& those same people complain one of the reasons they wouldn't buy the Golf R is it "has a soulless exhaust"..................

As you mentioned the BMW 2 series earlier in this thread....

Two can play this game............

:D  :D

Here you go Keith. Sounds like the 5 cylinder to me :)

Audi TT RS?

Fortunately my current wheels offers me the flexibility of being more sociable to 3 0thers,friends or family. Giving them a similar performance thrill. 5 cyl noise not required,as my soundtracker plays Porsche 911 GT3RS. Oh! and I saved a few grand in the process. Win win,Simples

Sod friends and family, feel the speed!!!!! OMG Jeremy Clonkson is channelling through me.

Seriously though, there was a question as to whether the new RS was going to be a 5 cylinder, I reckon that video shows it is :) If it's more powerful and lighter than the RS3 it should be a rocket ship.

You're a long time DEAD ,get that M3. Now!!!!

I've been doing frantic maths to see if it is at all possible, even tried Man Maths, but it is just too much, even though there are some great deals at the moment. Funnily enough it's not the monthly payments that really worry me, it's the running costs (I struggled to beat 23mpg on the motorway and don't ask what the overall average was :D) and the fear of theft. perhaps if I buy the Vitara outright in a few years then I might go back and re-examine the situation. Mind you, it might be possible to bag an M2 then and it might be more sensible.

It's tough to really enjoy the M3 on most British roads, it's just too much car for them. Smaller cars like the Caymen/Boxster are probably somewhere near the practical pinnacle of these things I guess, and the current bunch of hyper hatches are also in the sweet spot. Actually I can see a super strong case for the Toyobaru and MX5 too. I've driven M3s with the older none turbo 6 cylinder and they were fantastic cars (sounded so nice too), but the leap in performance of the current M3 is huge. Acceleration, grip, brakes, etc are exponentially improved (although steering isn't :( ) but to enjoy a car you need to feel you are challenging it a bit I feel and to challenge the M3 class of cars seems to require an indecent amount of speed. I dread to think how fast cars like the latest GT-R can go with a decent driver behind the wheel. perhaps a C63 then, at least it would sound fantastic at low speed :)

Oh heck, hang on...................... there's a reality check just appeared in the post. Oh well, I guess I'll have to go enjoy my M135 instead :)

Hooray!!!.....................something sensible..............

EVO mag has over the years done various articles about this point & again has come to the conclusion that smaller engined, lightweight cars are better, including old classics such as pug 106 etc............

It's been a mantra of mine, what is the point of all that power when you can't legally use it on our roads & when you do start to use it, it still feels as if you are doing sod all as you are no where near the cars "envelope edges"! Working a smaller engine & keeping it on the boil, timing your gear changes so you don't lose speed etc is way more satisfying!!

Personally if I was to buy a summer fun car it would be a Lotus Exige/Elise............mid engine, lightweight & decent power/weight (enough to USE)................

Some cheap BMW 340i deals starting to appear :)
