Auto Perfection - information

Looks to me that they didn't polish fully

Holograms usually occur from not working the polish properly and not refining it with a lighter pad (Two stage)

I would have it repolished with a fine cut polish and finishing pad. This will remove any hologramming ready for your Wax coat

Note: You might want to ask the Mod team (Via the 'Report' button) to remove your question and my answer to a more appropriate thread

  • Well as promised a review into the wax, goes on very easy but uses quite a bit, and the tub showed cracks like dying  out even though 4 degrees air temp, panel temp was 3.2 . Really easy to buff off,

  • On their Facebook page bud. Just send him a pm on there. Same cost as a few bottles of ale, and I've been dry for January so i deserve a treat!

As Chris says, it sounds like it needs a refining polish. Mine has holograms at the moment as I did not have time to do the second stage refining polish on mine.

Alternatively, arr you using two buckets and a microfibre wash mitt to was the car? It could be marring from washing the car.

I just used high pressure handy wash - no touch by hand.

They originally said they use two step polishing but something went wrong.

Today i came back to the place, now they are doing the fine polishing, just waiting for the result.

I am curious if now with wax they again clear the holograms and after washing it will pop up again....

We shall see

Why don't you ask them NOT to wax it, then do it yourself?

Yeah , that would have been a good idea, i forgot this.

Now its finished, they used a softer and thinner material, this should be now okey.

I will come back after the first wash ;)

Hey guys, I've just used Clarity for the first time as Ste (Samuir1974) sent me a sample box to try.

Thought I would share my opinion. It goes on really well. As you spread it around you suddenly feel the MF cloth glide across the paint. Then you are left with an amazing gloss. My wifes focus hasn't seen wax for a few months and there isn't any left on it either. It really needs sorting.

A quick wash later and then a spritz of clarity and we are left with this:

And I got to try out Difinitive Wax Tyre Dressing. A great product; not too shiny!

I need to pick up a full bottle of clarity. I tried my FK425 at the same time and it didn't compare. Clarity is far superior IMO.

Great work mate! Clarity is a very good product! :)

Is this the same clarity that had the issues in the group buy a while back?

No Andy..That was Obsessive Detail Clarity Sealant.

I fell for it too..I bought two lots..

still haven't used up the first one..I wouldn't sell it to anyone...well almost anyone..LOL

I sent them a eMail about it..They never replied

Cheers Chris. Wasn't much use was it?!

Appalling stuff TBH

I couldn't believe how quickly it broke down....and they still continue to sell it to the unsuspecting public

Lasted about a day at tops. I tried it again on a freshly painted panel that had never been touched, wasn't working the next day :(

Very nice Neil...... glad the samples got to you ok.

Good to see you on the mend and back on the detailing buddy!

BTW chaps - I see AP - Intensify is now shipping in glass jars, rather than Aluminium.

So the Aluminium pots are selling off cheap at the moment.

Anyone looking for a good wax to use on their pride & joy - this is highly recommended

Just ordered a couple of these from Auto Perfection. Similar to the Auto Finesse Puck.

I had one on trial from earlier this year and its been superb for applying wax thin and even.

You can change the pad type and also use for polishing by hand.

Thought to share.... going rate is about £7 for now.

Just for completeness - Alternatives to this wax/polish puck include the following....

Flexipads option (called "Palm Grip")

Auto-Finesse option (Handi-Puck)

Lately - I've been discussing with a few mates on plans for stripping the summer/show waxes off the car;

and setting onto the winter protection.... not decided as yet but I was reading with interest an update from AP.

Arron is currently working on a New Hybrid Wax and is aiming to have this wax ready for the winter months.

Has been developing and testing this wax for around 9 months now and AP are currently carrying out the last stages of testing.

This particular Hybrid wax will allegedly have fantastic gloss results and great durability....

Certainly based on how well AP Intensify performed - I for one will be looking to sample this and post up some results!

Saw this on his page this morning. Hope he pulls this one off. Both intensify and intensify DT have been flawless. Will certainly be testing this one once finished!

Managed to use the Handi Puk that Stephen kindly ordered for me . I urge anyone that likes waxing or hand polishing their car to purchase one. Great thing to use.

No strain on fingers or wrist. Easy to glide across the paint. Pads stick very well. Solid bit of kit.

Thanks again buddy!

Good to read this Karl - glad you were impressed with the Handi-puck wax applicator.

As you know - I like testing waxes and since switching to this.... application has been much improved.

Funnily enough - I was talking to Alan (blueR36) about this in the pub last night.

Highly recommended - the AP version (cheapest), Auto-Finesse or Flexipads - all good.

Certainly worth the money. A tonne better than the wax mates and not much more in cost!

Intensify again does the job! Detailed a range rover evouqe today for a good friend of the family. Wasn't interested in leaving it with me for the full weekend, just wanted it too 'look' good and bring back some of the shine... routine as follows..

All wheels cleaned with various brushes, Dooka wheel mitt and decon'd.

Foamed with Auto Perfection - Rinse - Washed with Auto Perfection Shampoo - Rinse - Iron X applied and left to dwell - Auto Perfection Eliminate for tar removal - Whole car clay bared & re-foamed & washed - polished with Auto Perfection Handi Puk & SRP (would of preferred to use a compound or minor cutting polish on the DA but wasn't allocated the time) - Sealed with Autoperfection Pro-Seal & waxed with of course Intensify! - Trims and tyres with my favourites KKD trim X & megs Endurance.

Enjoy the write up & photos!

That looks immense Karl! Great work buddy. New formula SRP is a great AIO and has gone well with intensify by the looks of it! Appreciate you taking the time to post.

I find its good for work like this when people haven't got the time or just as a valet kinda thing but would of preferred to go at it with the DA as the swirls were pretty bad.

I do like SRP though with it's ease of use. Worked very well with the sealant and wax. Alot say white can't shine. Oh oh It can! Haha

Thanks for the positive comments pal!

Awesome work Karl - a great turnaround on that one for sure.

Me and SWMBO are really into the Evoque - but inside they are just too small really.... almost claustrophobic feeling!

Anyways - I'm sure the friend of the family was very impressed with your efforts and products used.

I guess next time makes sure he leaves it long enough for a proper polish with the DA
