Eastbourne, and the weather's been perfect for it today 👍

I've been at Southend on Sea airport where the typhoon, red arrows and the Battle of Britain memorial flight have been based for the air show.

After not seeing this absolutely divine Cheddar in a local supermarket for so long it was pure heaven for me having a cheese and onion roll in crusty bread.

They were also selling Kerrygold Original Irish butter but upon checking the ROI code on the back it turned out it was made in Germany so I bought the cheaper Dairygold brand Irish butter which was made in Ireland.

Amazing seeing images of Rudi Sweatiani having their mugshots taken. Why aren't the likes of Johnson and Patel and Hancock facing the same humiliation?

This one would be Priti Patel. Always smirking.

Impressive bit of kit is that.

This is the beginning of my first foray into Astrophotography. What you see is almost €1000 of telescope, finder scope, viewfinder, Equitorial mount and attachments to connect a DSLR.

And this is at the budget end :D

When Mrs Gaz was at Wimbledon, our Lady E said 'Guess where I was working...' (or words to the effect of).  I took that as meaning she was at Wimbledon, but then realised I had one less slice of pizza than I thought I had when I went out to the kitchen for seconds.   Just sayin'

Finally the last bits of my order have arrived so I've set up what will, hopefully, be the beginning of a new hobby so I've assembled them all together for the first time.

Annnnnd it's cloudy a/f and the weather for the next few days isn't helpful.

Now to save €500 or so for a tracking mount. FML 🤦

Very nice! Something I have always wanted but never quite managed to justify because I know I won't like the 'working' hours required to use it :) .

I can count the number of times I have experienced a totally cloud and moon free night with no light or air pollution on my digits. Looking up is really is like standing on the edge of the Universe and almost vertigo inducing. Only twice in the UK and the rest in Australia where there are far more opportunities and even more spectacular than the Northern Hemisphere because you are looking into the centre of the Milky Way.

There is a designated Dark Sky region 90 minutes away from where I live and one really cold night I spent half-an-hour on the warm bonnet just marveling at the sky. The air was so clear that you could barely see the beam of a powerful torch shone into the sky as there were no particles to reflect off but it is very rarely that good.

You might like to listen to Space News Podcast (spacetimewithstuartgary.com) which is issued about three times a week.

Sounds wonderful! Hoping to head over to Adelaide next year, you'll have to send directions to this place:o

Here you go:

Home | River Murray Dark Sky Reserve

In October we've booked a short break up North at a remote outback station called Arkaroola with an agenda of astronomical evenings, 4wd tours, walking and a general appreciation of the natural environment allied to aboriginal culture.

A small challenge is that we have to navigate over 100km of dirt roads in our fwd Octavia to get there :) . We may have to go to plan B if there is rain 😟

Sent off to post production and post production (me) have said that they (me) will get round to it once a single decent shot from the camera crew (me) and the director and producer (also me) have gone over the footage after a team meeting with his self.

I think I must have worked with you before?   :D

I keep hearing on the Radio about some African leader and warring.

I liked Ali Bongo when young and his kind of magic & i believed he died in 2009.

If he just did an illusion and vanished he must be 94 year old or so.  Never went up in a puff of smoke at the Broken Wand Ceremony.
