Wonder if the configurator has a sister, could be popular going down as often as it does.

  • Well here she is !  Over the moon with it.   Missing roof rails though and have been told that they should have been there and to await a bulletin from skoda about them ( mind you i like it without

Very nice, well wear :) Won't be too common on Irish roads either which is a good thing IMO.

I just wonder if in the fullness of time whether non 230 owners could end up being able to up the ediffs on their car.

Love the car man! just ordered mine a few weeks ago, can you tell me what spec came with yours in Ireland? I think UK gets a better spec by default :(

I only speced Canton upgrade and tint from b pillar on rear windows as extra and footwell lights in rear and Heated seats front and rear...so obviously they dont come as standard..nor does amundsen or columbus..but to be honest a waste imho with smartlink..you just connect your phone and use google maps as sat nav.:) also acc is an extra here too...and lane assistant is an extra..and nearly 1200euro for a sunroof..no thanks..i like the dark interior and we dont exactly have that much use for one ..had them before but didnt use it much...preder to use the 1200 towards tax insurance and PETROL :)

nice! I went for corrida red, heated front seats, keyless entry and push button start. Estimated delivery date is early March, not sure if date is accurate or not. You loving yours so far? anything bugging you or all good?

That pic.was the press /demo model.. another friend had it for a few days as they ordered their vrs late November and as they had been given by their garage the Skoda press car for reviews etc..they knew i was after same and gave me the opportunity to see hear and feel what the car was like like in the flesh so to speak..and i took a couple of quick pics of the car too before waving it goodbye..like yourself waiting on delivery..around same time as yourself i suspect..just wanted to share the images to give an idea what car looks like in normal fading light with no added camera filters.

thanks for sharing dubhman, I got an email from dealer today and mine has been scheduled build week 5 (1st week of Feb) hope to have it end Feb.

Went down and saw the 230 estate in meteor Grey down my local dealership while confirming a couple of bits with my order.. it looks lovely and the VRS logo's on the seat which are now coloured look fantastic!

Cheers Devl - i'd forgotten you'd posted those.  I still haven't seen a UK 230 in meteor so i have no idea what colour my stickers are going to be.. i guess i'll find out when the car arrives.

Found this one in stock at Listers..  looks like meteor gets a black "230" decal:

We were thinking of test driving & possibly purchasing this car, but the decals would have to be removed to clinch the deal.

If anyone on here has / is going to drive it, please let us know your thoughts / opinions.

The decals can be removed very easily. It took me less than 30 seconds to do it. Nothing other than a thumb nail was needed.

would they budge on the price? 30k for nearly new seems a bit expensive to me.

I haven't read all 67 pages just last few. I like the new octy, had a hire car 1.6 diesel while my cupra 280 was having a new turbo fitted. Has anyone done a comparison drive between the cupra st and the octy 230? I agree with the sentiment that the extra 10bhp over a std vrs is rather pointless, but unsurprising given VAGs expert model delineation, so I doubt you'll ever see one with the same engine specs as the R or 280. The VAQ is brilliant though.

Probably not but it is loaded with options.

I've had a list from the dealer, DSG, Front Assist, Power Tailgate, Canton, Columbus, posh Bluetooth, Winter Pack, Pan Sunroof, Rear Parking Sensors, Heated Rear Seats & Kessy.

I've not added this lot up, but it's not going to be a cheap car at the list price.

If it was Red we would be taking a serious look, but Meteor Grey is a bit of a no-no, especially for me.

Think you could get it slightly cheaper via brokers for example drivethedeal

Was going to say the same. Haven't priced it up on there but would think it would be a little cheaper and obviously brand new. The only draw back being the wait.

Reading the EVO reviews, it appears that the diff lock is not the same as the golf gti / cupra 280. Plus it understeers somewhat, definitely not a track car they say. More worrying the cupra 290 has the same electro mechanical trick diff....

So the cupra 290 has a different slip diff than the 280? Where did you find this out?

I didn't, but if you read the EVO article you'd come to that conclusion. I don't think it is, all of them are using the same "half a Haldex awd" system utilising clutches.

& Your comment was???

The list on-the-road price for this car is circa £34k, If you qualify the the £1k loyalty bonus, the £500 fuel contribution & can squeeze another £1k from a dealer, then you may as well buy a new car instead.

My comment was 30k for a nearly new 230 seems a bit expensive to me..... Thought it was a pretty easy comment to understand and your response seems to confirm it as well.

You could also get it brand new from drive the deal for less than 30k.
