15 reg Roomster TSI Steering creaks when turning?!?!?!?

Featured Replies

Hey all,

New to the forum and in need of some expert advice from you all.

I am a proud owner of the Skoda Roomster TSI 86hp, bought it new last year from the cheap deal the dealers had for the last roomsters.

Car have been driving nicely and have been to very long journeys, now racking up almost 20000miles in 1 year.

Recently, well earlier this week, I suddenly hear this weird creaking noise when I turn my steering wheel.

For example when I back out of my parking space, slowly turning the wheel left or right, it makes this scary creaking noise. This also happens when I drive slowly forward.

Now my question is -  Is there a known fault for this cars steering? since my car is only 1 years old, I don't suppose anything will start breaking so soon.

Thanks for all your lovely advise and help in advance  :notme:

I have a slight creak on full lock ableit not every time

It had its first service last week and they said they could find anything

All though Rainworth have dismissed my previous attempts at tracking steering noises down

I'll try another dealer if it happens more often

Thanks for your helps :)

Had a read on the thread posted, so I guess it is a bad part installed.

Will have to bring it into the local Skoda dealer to get them to have a look (still under warranty) and maybe do the second servicing at the same time.

Will update you guys just in case anyone else is having this problem

My 63 reg 1.2tsi had it almost from new. They replaced the steering rack arms under warranty. On mine it creaked when turning the wheel to the right at a very slow speed.
