Happy Birthday Briskoda

Happy First Birthday, Briskoda!

Briskoda is One Today! Who would have thought a year ago that this forum would be as popular as it is today. Membership is thriving and is well on the way to reaching 1000 shortly, with members in 6 of the 7 Continents. (We have yet to have anyone join from Antarctica!). Current membership numbers 924, with September's record figure of 113 new members already beaten by this month's figure of 136 as of now. There are significant numbers of members in some non-UK countries - including Sweden, Greece, Holland and Singapore - and Briskoda's presence and influence in the worldwide Skoda community is increasing by the day!

Many congratulations to the 3 founding members (Colin, Huck and Ian) without whom Briskoda would not exist, and to our tireless Webmaster-in-Chief (Colin) who has done us all a wonderful service by creating, developing, maintaining and hosting the site. And to literally all the members who have supported Briskoda in so many ways, even if by just being a member, many thanks are due to you too for helping make Briskoda what it is today - a wonderful, warm, brotherly community of Skoda owners and enthusiasts, and more. Where would Briskoda be without us all?! rolleyes.gif

Well done Colin.

Doesnt seem like a year ago since we were using vwvortex and there were not that many of us.

Just about 18 months ago we had our first national meet (vortex days) and virtually every member if I remember correctly showed up (about 12 people if I remember). Things have come a long way since.

Members have come and gone, some have come back for more. Long live Briskoda and all that join.

:bouncer: HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! :bouncer:

I didn't realise that this momentous date was approaching... :D

Anyone care to guess the general guise of Briskoda.net come 21/10/04?

I'll add my thanks to all that make this place what it is. Colin is the obvious person that sticks in our heads and he has done an amazing job. Let's remember all those that work tirelessly and unselfishly in doing such things as:

-organizing meets/routes

-group buys

-contributing to add to our growing knowledge base eg, by posting, links section, sharing knowledge and experience. It's totally appreciated!

-etc, etc,etc!!

Wll done everybody!!! :D

Like the first child, it hurts a little to see it stand on it's own two feet, but as you see it falter once or twice, then become stable, and before you know it running of it's own accord - you can't help but feel proud.

Thanks all!

:happybday:

:drive:

..and I think this one sums up briskoda rather well!

:bigcrowd:

Bloody fantastic!!! Let's make year 2 even better- and I have made it my mission to recruit someone in Antarctica now!

So that is how I found Briskoda!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

And a big Thank You to everyone who has made Briskoda what it is.

:happybday:

Happy Birthday!

It's great to see so many members have made it what it is today.

And I feel obliged (honest, I really really do!) to thank all the founding members, particularly Colin, Ian and Huck for their hard efforts. All their efforts have really paid off - just see the number of members.

I probably wouldn't have bought the Skoda I really wanted if it wasn't for the knowledge of people like Denis, k et all, and thanks to you guys, I have my dream car with the bits I wanted.

I almost feel morally obliged to buy a large-sized windscreen sticker and make a donation! ;)

Also, which forum wouldn't be complete with a true, honest and overall helpful genuine Skoda CS rep!

And, also Jason, who often brings a tear to my eye for his wonderful naive posts in an attempt to break the alltime forum post count :p

Many many thanks again, and I look forward to a meet where I'll be able to put faces to nicknames :D

I'm probably repeatidly repeating myself but this site Rocks and I thank all who make it what it is.

Long live Briskoda. :)

Xavier

A big thank you to all involved with the birth and rising of Briskoda, may the growth be continuous and the events a plenty

1= naivety is something I never thought I exuded, but after some time and seeing what people do with their cars, and what I can't, I've resigned myself to this. I'm hoping this naivety will start to fade as I learn more about cars in general and get more and more "techy" :D I'll have to as my car gets older and starts to show all those little querks it's not worth visiting a garage over.

2= whilst Denis is a mod of this forum I shall never be able to break the alltime post count...

Happy birtday indeed Briskoda!

Thanks to everyone who brought Briskoda into the .net world, thanks to everyone who contributes.

and thanks to Ian whos fault it is that im here - poaching me from buying a Seat.

"Bloody ell, that Skoda dont alf shift!"

BRING ON 2k4!

As one of those that joined many moons ago when we moved over from the volkswagen forums, may I wish Briskoda a VVVV Happy Birthday!!!!

Good to see that we have Bretheren .......and Sisteren in many countries around the world!!

I am proud to display my Briskoda.net sticker and well done to Colin, Ian, Tavia RS, Denis and Huck and well as many others.

Roll on our 10th Anniversary............Now that'll be one to remember!!

I too joined nearly a year ago from the link on the old VW boards. I can't believe the site is one year old and I still haven't made it too 500 posts! A big well done to all the people involved in setting up the site. It wasn't something you had to do you did it of yor own backs in your own time and here it is a year old. Well done.

Well done everyone

That Vortex post was certainly a blast from the past!

:happybday:

And congratulations, and many thankyou's to all those who made it possible.

Here's to year 2, and long may it continue

Just in time to add my congratulations - happy birthday Briskoda, you're a quick learner. Just 1 year old, and it's able to stand up and talk.

And talk.

And talk.

And talk.

And talk some more... :D

Hi all, indeed what a great year, as always my thanks goes to you all for coming along and as Mattijs says; talking. So on to next week and the next year...

Wonder what Briskoda is getting for it's 1st Birthday...

:happybday to Briskoda. It has been good watching it grow into what it is now. Lets hope that it continues just as much as the resurgence of Skoda continues!

Actually. Forget that last bit. We don't want to let everyone into the secret do we! ;)
