Roof Boxes on VRS Combi

Featured Replies

Hi guys, Does anyone here have a roof box on their combi, if so which one did you go for and opinion.

I am currently looking at either the Thule motion XL800, Dynamic M 800 or the Yakima Skybox 16 Carbonite.

or any other suggestions. all three have enough room, but would liek to know what it looks like too.

So if you have a photo that would be appreciated!

thanks

Don't know about prices where you are, but over here the Motion XL and the Yakima cost around £430, but the Dynamic is £200 dearer.  However, it has a smaller capacity than the other two!

Photos might come along later when other people get online, but meanwhile there are two UK websites with good pictures of all three on cars - roofbox.co.uk and roofracks.co.uk.

My personal choice would be Thule - the bright red lettering on the Yakima puts me off. But that's just my choice. Thule dominate the market here.

i have a thule - very good piece of kit, not had any experience of the Yakima, sorry. dynamic looks very cool but expensive..

I agree with the red lettering, so i think I've narrowed down to just the Thules. I am going to try out the 2 on the car tomorrow to see how it looks

I have the Thule, biggest one I could find! Half price on eBay for a second hand one and the adjustable boot opening comes in handy as the box is so long to stop it hitting it. Pic attached.

Thule Atlantis 600, had it for several years now:

Thule look good, but they can be quite pricey. There's not exactly much technology in these things, so i haven't convinced myself it's something worth chucking decent money at. I went with a Kamei Delphin (this one), and the service from roofbox.co.uk is pretty good.

I went for the halfords exodus 580 litre on mine, cant fault it so far really, can absolutely lob loads of stuff in there!
