I have a PCP deal currently that is coming to an end later this year. I have a space save spare. If I using my car as a trade-in (as opposed to just handing it back) could I keep the space saver, or would they expect it included?

 

Although thinking about it, if I were to keep the wheel I guess they would expect a tyre repair kit in its place.

You can keep it. The only time it'd have to be there is if you were handing it back to the finance company. I wouldn't even bother leaving a repair kit.

Interesting to hear if your dealer has agreed to change the tyres for your preferred tyres and was there any additional cost i.e. difference in price between stock tyres and the Michellin. I am planning to do the same, but would want Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 fitted. However, I am looking to finance a VRS on PCH and wondered whether the dealer would entertain this request given PCH.

I personally wouldn't have black wheels on a black car which is why I went for the silver Geminis on my car and I think if I were to get another, I would do just the same. I have anthracite ones for winter wheels but I always look forward to getting the summer ones back on.

I'm having to pay extra for it.. 

Can anyone please confirm that the FL vRS doesn't have a CD player anymore?

It does if the Columbus unit is fitted. It doesn't if not. 

I'm swapping my 2 years old Mk3 1.2 TSI Se, (at Alex Lawrie Liverpool 14500 miles on it in silver nice buy if anyone's looking for one) for a 1.4TSI again Se this week. To be honest I'm not sure about the face lift, it doesn't look as nice but looking forward to the extra horse power. The 1.2 is a little under powered for the car in my opinion, although its still a nice car. The 1.0 tsi is good in a smaller car (got told by the dealer that a 150bp is coming out in the fabia next year). 

The SE trim is really nice and enough gadgets to suit my needs, although I'm losing my CD player which doesn't often get used (the S looks like a good value too). The Se L  the Se Tech are out of my budget, but would be nice.  

 

This will be my 4th Octavia had two Mk2's 1.9 & 1.6Tdi's. Its a little boring getting the same car over and over again, but for size comfort and spec I don't think you can buy better for price. The boot size is amazing and its why I'm not driving a Seat Leon (which considered).

Ooooh Skoda have been cheeky and changed the wording on the PDF for the standard spec for vRS and the infamous door mirrors...

When I originally shared the link it was

"Auto-dimming, electrically adjustable, heated and foldable mirrors with boarding spots and memory function"

Today it says
"Auto-dimming, electrically adjustable and heated mirrors", so your £175 optional extra gets you electrically folding functionality and boarding spots

I'd expect them to be folding if it was ordered before the wording change but, feel sure Skoda wouldn't agree, not sure if its a deal breaker ?

Here's the new black RS hatch. Looks so sexy. To bad no black grill frame. But still very hot!

I had silver wheels on my old Black Octy 2 vRS & they really suited the car. 'Tis a personal thing (& possibly age related.....) but I'd not want black wheels on any car, no matter the colour.

I'm currently contemplating a cheapish Cupra ST that's has it's wheels & mirror caps painted orange, & job 1 would be to revert to a sensible colour...

My point is that I don't ever want diamond cut wheels, they are an absolute PITA to keep looking good as the white worm looks terrible.

 

No OEM will cover this defect under warranty if there is a single mark on the wheels hence, my hatred of thee face cut look, its unmaintainable.

Anyone know when the 1.5 supersedes the 1.4TSi?  ie If I order a 1.4 in the next few days might it end up being a 1.5?

Later this year as the Golf MK7.5 is not available in the 1.4TSi to order & the lists etc state 1.5lt available to order- later this year delivery..

The facelift is meant to have a wider track, right?  Really can see any difference in this video.  Am i missing something?  The relationship between the wheel and the arch looks un-changed from the pre-facelift cars?  :-/

Was that a fake exhaust on the right? I knew the pre FL estate models had a fake exhaust but are the vRS hatches now the same? Would be really disappointed if the UK models were like this.

To be specific Mo, the TDI version of the vRS model of the FL octavia has a fake right exhaust

As said. The diesel has always had one fake outlet on the vRS. It's nothing new.

Skoka UK are claiming this is due to Manufacture Year changes, smells a lot of farmyard byproducts to me.

This is so easy to be solved on pre-FL. Spacer + longer bolts, can't be simpler, but this might affect little bit fuel consumption on open road. When I fitted 16mm on all 4 wheels on my Alfa it affected performance and fuel consumption, maximum speed dropped slightly. Though, handling noticeably improved, steering wheel feedback improved.

This makes no sense on this car. Don't do it, you will not achieve anything but looks, as most of the important functional parameters will drop. I don't think you should go above 235 on this car, much better investment is best UHP or road legal semi-slick tire, sized 225-235mm.

Which functional parameters
