White TDI DSG, Black Pack.

 

Had a blue 57 VRS hatch.  The one car I have kept longer than any other.  Moved to a BMW 1 series M sport and then to a 320d Sport touring.  Went to BMW from Skoda as actually cheaper at the time bizarrely.  Now back and looking forward to this one.

IIRC the GFV does not increase with options over the base spec so that won't help

Correct, the 35% is based on the list price of £26,575.

Sad to say it but, 35% is about right as a trade value,  which makes no sense as people should do the opposite of what VWFS want & pay the ballon payment.

 

Although, once you've had a new car, kinda be cheating yourself to put up with anything less really, I kinda figure they don't build a car that would last me 6 years

It does seem very low, but maybe it is the trade value.  I got a quote with final value of £9,400 after 3 years and 45k miles for a manual estate .  When I look at second hand values of an early 2014 car now with those sort of miles, a private sale price seems about £13k, and skoda dealer about £14.5k.  Way above the £9,400. I guess when a new one reaches 3 years old the next model might be out, which should lower value compared to a 2014 car now.

 

So for me, I think it makes sense to go PCP as I intend to keep it longer, and buying it at £9,400 won't be so bad.  It will still have plenty of life, and I could always go for the 5 year warranty extension at new to keep me warranteed into years 4 and 5.

If the car is worth more than GFV and you would still like new surely best bet is to sell private,pay off ballon. (if you can't afford borrow short term loan). Then pocket the few thousand or so difference you should have made. Then put larger deposit down which means less interest and lower monthly payments over new few years of new car. Reading back I'm wondering why everyone doesn't do this,seems a no brainer. Am I missing something? Or maybe they offer a good enough deal over the GFV to stop you doing this?

I built a newer version of my Octavia in the car configurator and noticed that they appear to have gotten rid of the Pictoris wheel option and the 19's look like they're silver now. It may just be the picture on the site but they don't look as dark as the standard fit anthracite Geminis?

Yep, Pictoris have been removed from vRS and the Xtremes are now silver unless you opt for the Black Pack Plus.

I always wondered what the Xtremes would look like in silver. I take it they're still just anthracite with the Black Pack? And they are still black on the PP version (245). I did check.

Unless you get them powder coated but, those are Gemini's

Diamond cut is the Fn last thing I want, such a PITA to keep looking good & 2 cuts is all you get possible a 3rd if you're really lucky. Anyways on a black car these will looks the ******

Anyone ordered a diesel VRS been given a build week? 

 

I ordered with my dealer on 1st March, there was an initial delay as Skoda weren't accepting orders for the manual diesel but then it was confirmed on March 21st. 

 

I was was told by my dealer initially that it would be a 12 week delivery time, then told I had a build week of week 17 (April 24th). I chased it up today and now been told my build week is week 30 (July 24th). I don't understand how there can be such a delay? 

 

Anyone ever had much luck with getting a courtesy car from skoda? I'm due to return my current car at the beginning of July and therefore can't wait until an August delivery date as I won't have a car. I had planned for a June delivery date at the latest considering 12 weeks would have been end of May from date of order. 

Do you have many optional extras on that ?

 

Maybe Skoda wanted to build a few complicated builds first to check the production line could be done in the times setout by management.

 

Production lines are all about, time on the line & this production manager may have had the pee taken outta him before

Only 2 options (auto mirrors and front & rear parking sensors). Should have got the black pack as well but I forgot, might have time to add it now I suppose. 

 

Just St don't think I'll be wait until August for it so may have to cancel and go car shopping again.

I ordered diesel vrs manual early April,had build date confirmed 2 or 3 days after order for week 20. Had an update email from dealer (sends one every fortnight) 3 days ago confiming car goes into build 1  day next week. 

So no idea what has happened with yours,as said above maybe options. I put DCC,alcantara seats,front assist and rear camera on.

Add the black pack and remove the front sensors. I have them on mine and they're ok but really not necessary. The mirrors with folding and particularly the auto-dim function are one of the best value options imo along with the heated front screen

Having had heated front screen for the last 3 years I won't be getting it again. It was nice to have but I think I only used it a handful of times in those 3 years. Heated front seats though I've used a lot so I'll be getting them! I agree about black pack though, a must.

It depends on personal preferences andwinter conditions. For the cost, I think it's a good safety feature to be able to see where you're going.  I see too many dopes driving with a porthole-sized cleared area on the front screen. The seats are too warm for me after 5-6 minutes even on the minimum heat setting and I usually turn them off after the initial warm-up.

are you guys getting heated seated with fabric or leather? I am getting fabric sports seats in my car.. I have leather in my current car and its heated but didn't think it worthwhile getting heated with fabric... I almost did as I sometimes suffer from lower backpain and thought the heat be a nice option but the order had been closed when I checked. Re the heated screen - this was recommended to me to but I didn't for it in the end.. don't have it in my current car and with the climate control takes no length to clear the screen.. the only time it takes a little longer is if I de ice in the winter but again that's only happened a few times.. I just sit back and listen to the radio for a few minutes..

 

I have asked my dealer to swap off the stock tyres on my car and fit michellin crossclimates. I have them on current car and they are fantastic all year round tyre..

Can you get heated seats without screen? I don't think you can vice versa.

I think you can get either the seats or washer jets on their own but if you want the screen you have to select all three to make the winter pack.
