Caliper colour

Featured Replies

Ok, this might be posted in the wrong place however I want people's opinion..

Now I understand this isn't my car (although I wouldn't say no ;)) however my question is what do you think about green brakes on a red car?

I might not go for such a bright green if I were to change them..

For those who don't know I have a red Octavia vRS and was looking at doing something a little different!

(mods - if this is in the wrong place please move! thanks..)

Those calipers look good to me.

Black wheels, black roof, black wing mirrors, black spoiler, must be a 230

Mk1 Octavia's had green calipers, worked well on them so why not on the mk3.

Wasn't sure I'd get such a positive response.

I currently have silver wheels, do you think that it would look the same if I changed my calipers or not have the same impact without the black wheels?

  • john999boy changed the title to Caliper colour

Hmm, might depend on the  'silver'.  If its a dark/dull gun metal grey colour then the caliper will still pop against it nicely IMO.  If its a light and shiny silver then you'll need a really bright colour to pop a contrast, i am not sure a darker green would work, althogh that neon green might.  Have you considered gold?  that might pop nicely against silver and go well with the red, and look good against black rims if you were to change them.  its all just personal opinion though, so I hope you enjoy what ever you do, even if others think 'Yuuk!'

You'll need to ask Brimma's permission to use Gold, It's a Brimma exclusive colour

neiln, was thinking green to stick with the Skoda theme, plus I really like the calipers in my picture.

at the minute I have the standard 18" Octavia vRS alloys, so they're not a bright silver.

not changed anything on my car yet as I've only had the car since 22nd December.

Should enlighten you ;)

Match with the green on the vRS badge on the front. The clipers on the Mk Is were pretty close to the green in the badges on them, not to mention the Skoda flying arrow.

Pist0n, that was very enlightening ;).  I see what you mean about asking Brimma about going gold!

Metal, would quite like to match the green of the Skoda badge.

Yeah its a lot brighter on the new badges. Not far from the green on the car pic you posted above.

I always thought the green went well on any of the colours on the Mk I Octavias and Fabias because it was that bit different to the normal reds and yellows. If I keep my Octavia after my lease period is up I will be thinking about painting my calipers a green of some sort.
