Fabia Monte Carlo Finance malarky

Featured Replies

I had an email from my local Skoda dealership saying they'd be willing to buy mine back in exchange for taking out a PCP on a brand new Skoda (as they're "running out of quality used Skodas on the forecourt"), only thing is there was no option to have another Fabia which kind of made it useless for me as I do rather like the new Monte and the Octavia is a bit much for me at the moment (I'd want the 'RS), oh and I'm only about half-way through my 3 year term which I thought was a bit strange as I still owe them roughly £2800.

Left a copy of paperwork with dealer to work out the VT ratio, he was more interested in telling me what car I wanted: a brand new white Monte looked really smart but our budget is £11k. They cannot transfer a used Monte from another branch we only want blue green grey so I might have to drive 200 miles to find the colour we want.

well finally found a blue metallic 110bhp dsg Monte reg sep16, £12.5k 2000 miles at Manchester branch lookers / Skoda. Had to VT the citigo only owed £67. Took the car over 5 years personal loan no pcp. Only paying £60 per month. No bloom payments... Will start new thread in mk3 forum. Happy days

How much deposit did you put down to get the payments that low?

Paying £12.5K over 5 years (60 months) with own personal loan 3.5% with our bank. Own new monte car outright at end of bank loan, so dealership has been paid 100% in full.

Citigo was on dealership PCP. with VW finance ( lot higher APR) we got to nearly 50% paid off & now Voluntary terminated. we were almost exactly half way. Dealership is letting us leave the citigo car with them for finance company to collect. We collect new car next friday.

That sounds like a good deal you've got yourself, I do like the look of the monte carlos but don't know if I'd be able to live with the 1.2 engine.

Luckily my VRS still running reasonably well, so we got a performance RS rally car for me (200bhp) and a not so fast but sporty looking 110bhp for the missus. Will only be doing basic cosmetic stuff to the monte. LED lights, Mud flaps etc.. Bigger alloys.

They do reach 140 with a remap, and 180 with hybrid turbo.

Just a pity they don't put the Polo GTi engine in straight out of the box

Mmmm a remap would be a tempting option. Maybe if I hang onto my vrs for another couple of years Skoda might have produced a more powerful mk3 :)
