DRLs are on all the time?

I have the same bulbs fitted in the DRL and amber 80w LEDs for fogs.

AMD87 I've removed my amber tint.

Took the car up to knockhill to do the 3rd round of the Scottish Road Car Series

On the road up to knockhill testing out the new diff.

First test was pretty tight and hit a couple of the posts so didn't help my times. Some parts have been retarmac'd and some haven't everyone was slower on each run as on the undone parts we were just pulling up more stones.

Second test the car seem to have developed a snap oversteer issue. If you watch at the zipzaps heading to the other end of the paddock youll see the car oversteer heading into the hairpin

last test

Day out at the The Scottish Performance Show today with Scottish Motor Racing Club in the Autosolo event. Not the longest track in the world but nice and fast just what the fabia likes.

First part was dry till the hairpin then the rest was just mud 😟

Still getting used to the Wavetrac Differentials on the first run being used to the car running wide then taking off the steering as it straightens out, with the extra grip from the diff it kept pulling the car left and i couldn't get the steering lock off quickly enough so had to abandon the gearchange to straighten it then forgot it wasn't in gear 🤦‍♂️ coasted to the finish and some how was second fastest.

With it being so slippy on run 2 i turned on traction control just to see what it would do. Just kept zapping the power and ended up sliding through the finish. so had to work out another way to get traction.

Run 3 lowered the tyre pressures down to 28psi and managed to get faster with some traction but still not the best.

Run 4 tyres down to 24psi on the front to try and get traction and seemed to do the trick fast times but still 2nd.

Run 5 took the front tyres down to 22psi and that seem to do it ended up with the fastest time so far for the car of 17.15

Run 6 left them at 22psi but locked the wheels going into the hairpin and didn't beat the time and sadly one of the Legends knocked me down to 3rd.

Still in a top 3 in a daily driven diesel Skoda Fabia against drift cars and race cars isn't too bad

Shows the great work Richard from Modified Lights UK did putting the engine together. ADE Tuning for the mapping and Darkside Developments for managing to find a way of it to now get the power down! Can't forget Funk Motorsport , Autobeam and Regal Autosport and for the help over the years. Wouldn't be like this without them.

On the way back i had the dreaded flashing coil and was flagging up with this code

Spoke to a couple of friends with garages but they were busy this week so as i still have Skoda Assist i thought they might have an EGT sensor so called them up and the guy turned up and knew the car, not sure if thats a good or a bad thing 🤣. Plugged in his machine and it was reading the exhaust gas at 20oC when it should be about 600-700oc.

Had a look on in his van and didn't have the right one so he ordered it from tps and came back on thursday to my work and fitted it up and all back to normal. Then wanted to go out for a run in it to see what it was like which i was more than happy to do. 🤣

Bit of testing last night at knockhill. Some instruction from Emily who raced my car at Kames last night. Diff has made a huge difference more so coming out of the hairpin instead of spinning it just goes making me feel like i need a 2.5 gear between 2nd and 3rd.

Nearly ran into the back of the GTR going into the chicane as wasn't expecting him to be on the brakes so long and on my fastest lap i had a hesitation at the chicane with the Elise and lifted off for the Exige on the straight.

Cause the facelift which my fabia is has a PQ25 front end and a PQ24 rear end and they said it’s only for the prefacelift which is PQ24 all round.

Might have been a good thing though 🤣

Try Awesome GTI, Bilsteins not listed but KW's are more expensive than bilsteins for the high end coilovers.

i have moderately priced APs fitted to the 5J Mk2 (very stiff) Feel every bump, Wife hates it.

Awesome gti are the same as I was buying them from a sister company of theirs.

Looking at the KW V3’s but need to get the car sorted first and I want suspension where I can adjust bump and rebound.

Well from the picture above you can see the Fabia had to get recovered. For a week or so i kept having an issue with the clutch where i would reverse then try to pull it out and it wouldn't come out. Sometimes when you lift the clutch a little the gear lever will move so did that and the car stalled so biting point was on the floor compared to the usual high up.

After the first time it didnt do it again untill you were doing low speed monuvers or riding the clutch but was normal in normal driving. Spoke to a couple of friends and they said it sounded like the clutch slave cylinder and to test it stick a breaker bar on it over night and look for any leaks. Did this and the next morning a nice spot of fluid on the ground.

Now i knew what the issue was had to get it sorted over the next few days, drove to work and went to pull into a parking space and clutch was gone stuck to the floor. Skoda Assist came out and confirmed that to be the case, tried to phone around a few garages i know to see if they could take it in but they were all full so had to get it recovered to a main dealer. Almost £400 to get it sorted.

Also got my newish tyres mounted up on the wheels

Also had to replace the rear drums, complete PIA actually thinking of doing a disc coversation now just from how annoying it was, also replaced the handbrake cables.

Took the car up to Crail yesterdat. Managed to take 0.110 off my previous best. Trap speeds very consistent at 88-89mph but still slower than the 91mph its done before and finally back into the 2.2 60ft’s.

Had 2 jumps against the mk1 vRS as I was staged too deep.

20mph headwind and overcast so no sunlight to put heat in the ground but still a decent day.

Harder to launch the car like before as with the new clutch and pressure plate the car and can properly put the torque down but it also means that the handbrake can't hold it when you try to build boost to launch it making the starts more aggressive.

48578279602_8f3ca42bd5_c.jpg

nice car 😎

something is not quite running true with those 1/4 mile times

with consistent 15.5's and 89mph teminals I think your down on bhp from your 204bhp (somewhere around 180bhp range)

I had a rr proven 200bhp on my mk1 fabia vrs and I was able to run 14.4s 1/4 mile with a 97mph terminal

unless the mk2 fabia is substantially heavier than the mk1 but with the 1.6 derv I wouldn't think so 🤷‍♂️

so maybe have picked up an issue somewhere
