Very unlikely to be a problem at the ECU end.

Most diesel Fabias seem to suffer the wires breaking at the point shown in my link, many petrol-engine ones do too.

Look at the photos in the thread I linked, and try to see if the wire is broken there. If you find that it is, repair it yourself, or get a friend  who is happy with wiring jobs to help, maybe?

Thanks again, yeah I saw the photos, it's just underneath in the front. I will take a look tomorrow. But, just so I ensure that I communicated it properly, it only appears when it stays for a long time in idle, if I start the car and drive, it does not appear, and also it happens only in the morning (but it can be because only in the mornings I stay with the car in idle for a longer time). Anyway, never seen it to light up during the day. 

I'm not so sure then, usually people report it coming on after 10 minutes of driving.  No harm in having a look though.

yeah of course, but not sure why it would do like that....only when it doesn't move...but thanks for the replies, much appreciated

Just thread a long zip tie or two all the way round it to hold it firmly in place, the ECU holder is brittle plastic and snaps very easily.

"Turn off" the engine is clear enough, we would normally say "switch off".

 

 

Hi, just to update, do not if you really need it, but just in case, I did what you recommended with the wires, cause also needed a new horn so checked also the wires, they were kind of opened but not yet damaged, so just sealed them properly. The issue is still there is the ASR light, but as now I don't really have time to warm up the car so don't stay on the same place with the engine on for longer than 10 minutes it does not light up, or if it does, just switch of and on the engine, and it disappears, don't really know what is the issue there but hope it will not grow in some bigger issue.
