Ive had the camera installed for over a year now and not working as id lost all interest . I had seen so many people with the same issue its just finding someone with VCP and the know how . Its all correctly wired up just needs the camera flashing . Did you end up getting yours refunded .

I'm kind of sad that I didn't query the seller over the camera issue. I just cracked on and got it sorted. It's working,so can't really try and get my money back now. Have a look in the Diagnostics and VCDS forum for the VCP map and see if someone is near you. If you're ever near Cheltenham I can recommend the chap who helped me.

So I lent the Octy to my OH and she has kerbed a wheel and taken a good chunk out of a tyre! I'm glad this has happened this week and not next week! There will be a long awaited update on the car coming soon as over the weekend it'll be jacked up, put on stands, the wheels removed and sent away for a refurb, 4 new tyres fitted and I'll finally be doing the rear brake upgrade and treating the car to a quick detail. I've been very busy lately getting a new company off the ground and spending what was supposed to be our next house deposit on branding and company supplies. As the Octy is now technically my company car, it may be gaining some branding to liven up it's very grey exterior lol :D

Introducing the hover Octy haha  Here’s how it’s going to sit for a week while the wheels are away getting refurbished. I have until tomorrow at 8 in the morning to finalise a colour and then plenty of time to wonder if I’ve made the right choice. At least I have my brothers Fabia vRS to hoon around in in the meantime :D

You could spray the tyres the same colour as the refurbed wheels then they would look like a Range Rovers (22"):notme:

Might follow you noticed white worm appearing under the diamond cut parts of my new wheels after just 4,200 miles and they haven't been on the car since mid-November. Oh well.

I have been looking at upgrading my door controllers to Highline ones and have found some with the correct part numbers

5Q0959592B

 5Q0959593A

but they are listed as Mk7 golf parts for a reasonable price but if I search for Skoda ones with the same part numbers the price doubles will the golf ones work in my Octavia or do you think it will have to be Skoda ones. Also as my car is only an SE it doesn't have any of the wiring loom for puddle lights or the lights in the bottom of the door is this part of the loom separate from the rest or is it part of the mirror loom. I wasn't going to go for the power fold mirrors just yes due to the cost of parts but figured upgrading the door controllers would future proof me for when I can get some

Hi I just re read your post regarding your mirror upgrade and while I am not in the position to search and retro fit power fold mirrors I would like to retro fit the red warning lights in the front doors and fit the puddle lights into the mirror housing. I am 99% sure I only have low line door controllers and noticed you had the warning lights and puddle lights with your midline controllers. Would you still have the controllers you removed kicking around?

I have no idea how the wiring goes for that, but if you have a look at the part numbers for the door controllers and get back to me, I can let you know if they are different. If so, I still have them and I can send them out to you for much cheapness :)

Just checked my car with my obd11 and it looks like I have midline controllers so it's just the wiring that's missing and a but of coding. So I will be looking at a trip to TPS to see if they can get the correct plugs and pins and the wiring diagram Screenshot_20190326-153117_OBDeleven.thumb.jpg.11819c2c04c6685e65be41e81394d6de.jpgScreenshot_20190326-153117_OBDeleven.thumb.jpg.11819c2c04c6685e65be41e81394d6de.jpg

They are the part numbers I had, should be just a few sections of wire and bulbs you are missing to get them going :)

I have a friend who drives all over the country for work in her Citigo and I do feel sorry for her at times. There is nothing wrong with the car, quite the contrary it's a cracker, but doing battle with wagons can get wearing if you havn't got the oomph to create road space for yourself. Having run a Citroen Dyane and a very low kit car I built I know all about feeling a bit vulnerable on motorways.

The Octy looks good, mainly because it is good ! Enjoy it and give a little wave across the menai to my little yacht in Beaumaris ( it's not posh, believe me).

I didn't mind the Citigo as a motorway car, just the lack of cruise control got me in the end. Then again, as you'll know, there aren't any motorways in North Wales, we have the A55 trunk road and that's not too bad all in. Day 3 as a Hover Octy (TM of course :)) and it's starting to get bored now. Don't think the poor car has stood still this long since I bought it haha!

Perhaps you should fit Tank Tracks and a bit of camouflage on the bodywork and it will be good to go anywhere.:bandit:

There was a noted incident at the launch of the Volvo 740 many years ago when a Volvo company exec asked a journalist what options would suit the UK market. The journalist drew a turret and gun on a photo of the car and handed it to the exec.:D

What make and size did you go for? 225/235 width.

235/35/19 Toyo Proxes Sport. The whole tyre thing turned into a right debacle. I ordered Michelin PS4S in 235, they got cancelled as they had no stock. I went somewhere else, as the first place was only cheap on Michelin tyres and tried for Uniroyal RS3’s in 235 and they took the money, sent me a message to say they were being sent out and only 3 arrived. That was yesterday and I refused the delivery, much to the annoyance of the driver (been there, I know it’s a hassle but he also knew it was more of a hassle for me to accept them and fight the refund and re ship) and I had a very heated discussion regarding expediting me a set of 4 tyres because I don’t own a Reliant Robin and it turned out that all they had that they could get to me today in 225 was P Zero’s at a good price but I really don’t get on with them. I asked about 235 and I was annoyed that they did Vredestein tyres with a big cash back but they weren’t going to be shipped for 4 days so I ended up with Toyo’s. They seem decent but not as long lasting as I might like but at least they are the size I want so I can stick with that size now for future tyres.

Noticeable improvement going from 225/35 P Zero on my original Extremes then 225/40 P Zero (on still 7.5J but 18" alloys over winter). Now back on the excellent Michelin PS4S 235/35R19 on wider 8.5J rims everything is better from turn in to corner speed. Best tyre I have ever bought in 36 years on the road and worth the extra plus does a great job deploying my insane 336bhp. Very happy again, only downside noisier than the P Zero.

Camskill?

I'm hoping to make use of the £80 pre-paid debit card Vredestein offer in the next couple of days.  I'm just waiting to confirm whether or not the upcoming Quatrac Pro will be available in 235/40 R19; if not then I'm going to get some Quatrac 5's again.

I will deffo be in a position to go for it with the PS4S on the next tyre change :)

How often do you lot change summer tyres?!?  Mine seem to last about 4 years with switching to more suitable rubber in the 'colder' months.  Means everytime I replace them I have to do much homework on newer models.

This is the third set of tyres I’ve put on this car, I do about 30k miles a year. I bought the car with part worns, the wheels came with tyres which were nearly new so these are the first new tyres on the car that I’ve bought.
