First changes to make

Featured Replies

What changes or additions have you got planned for your Karoqs?

I’ve already ordered an A119S dashcam and some of the air vent covers for the open vent holes in the rear footwells.

Also bought a fork mount to hold my bike upright, need to fit that to a wooden bar when I can measure it up.

Oh, and an obdeleven if I want to play about with the settings.

  • Mrs S has also gone a little slack.... Overuse? Pressing too hard? Not sure.

  • My vent covers arrived a couple of weeks ago. Quite surprised how sturdy they are, thought they were going to be floppy things.   I like the key cover, add to basket!

  • Fitted the vent covers this morning; sturdy and even come with adhesive strips. Really good for the price!

Where did you get the vent covers from?

Its an android based diagnostic tool. Like a VAG com or VCDS.

You can program the alarm beep, needle sweep and all sorts of other stuff.

Only £40 and will come in useful for friends cars too.

No, android only

Bother, thank you.

Thanks for posting a link to the air vent covers, I've just ordered a set for my Karoq. They do look a lot better than just the open vents, even if they're a bit plasticky. Have you used them before on other cars?

No, just thought the holes looked ugly when I sat in the car.

Also stops anything falling down them.

can you share link? Is it generic or made for Skoda?

I cut and fitted my own heavy-duty rubber boot mat. The official Skoda one is currently unavailable, so I ordered this one from Amazon for £13 and adapted it to size. My kids play football/rugby so the boot is regularly treated to muddy boots, balls and kit. A good mat is also useful for carrying bags of sand, cement, tools etc, for whenever the misses decrees my DIY skills need practice. I have also ordered a set of Skoda heavy-duty rubber floor-mats from Superskoda to protect the cabin.

Ordered one of these: https://www.rewiresecurity.co.uk/db3-odb-gps-tracking-device-glonass - obviously any thief worth their salt would find and remove it or even block the signal, but it gives some piece of mind still.

If you have your car connected to the phone app (SKODA Connect), can't you track it anyway or do you need care connect ? :wondering:

'First changes to make' should be the tyres pressures.

Check them at least, that gives an idea of the standard of the PDI, then reset the TPMS.

Check the coolant level cold. and the oil on collection of the car, then after it is used a bit check cold again, and compare when at Normal Operating Temp.

If all is Okey Dokey then make changes all you want.

OBD II,  like WW II,   On Board Diagnostic / diagnosis port, tool, what ever (2),,,,   Like Rocky 2.

I doubt it as you will need a cellular connection and that isn't part of the build process.

Nice idea though.

The website is https://obdeleven.com/en/

It only covers VAG cars so Audi, VW, Seat and Skoda.

You can download the app from the play store and see what functions are available before you decide to buy one.

Those could be fun on a VAG manual, especially as a present to one of your enemies.  What shows "R" for Reverse would be 6th and I'm thinking Reverse would be 1st....  :o
