How long have you had it? and was it for the kangaroo from cold or the 2 gear issues.

Yes I would agree that the software update applied to my Karoq MY19 has got rid of the hesitation at low revs in 2nd gear issue and yes it is one of the quietest driving cars I have been in. The stop-start system seems to be working the way it should/better than it did initially post that update as well.

I have just received in the post this morning from Ipsos Loyalty Automotive & Services on behalf of Skoda, a letter along with a survey to complete asking for my opinion of my faulty karoq. I wonder how many of these have been sent out? Never had one before.

Skoda latest answer for all Karoqs, all Skoda dealers should know more longer than a week ...

Do you have same information about Octavia MY18 DADA?

I successfully rejected my Octavia 1.5 TSI and got all my money back. I nearly got hit by a truck because of the car not pulling away as it should, it hesitated. And also I didn't want to take possible risk of any problems with the motor or gearbox in the future, due to this kangarooing and hesitation problems. It took about 8 months to finally close the situation.

Are these the supposed fixes?

Did you have any updates on your Octavia at all, or was the one you were told about just withdrawn and then nothing else offered? If you had nothing done, how did you manage to reject it successfully?

I did not have any update applied. They promised in writing that the update will be available by the mid of July, and since that didn't happen, I reported the problem to state institution. Something like "Trade Control Sector, services and consumer protection". Then the dealer agreed with returning the vehicle. And yes, they did not offer any solution to the problem in any way.

@Karr3

Does Ipsos / Ipsos MORI say who their client is,

& is it VW Group?

PS, sorry I see on behalf of SKODA.  So did you give consent for them to pass on your contact information to other organisations?   They are the ones that usually quote Data Protection.

They wrote on behalf of Skoda which is part of the VW Group.

Thank you for your reply.

Did you give permission to SKODA to use other agencies like this market research group?

Bought Dec 2018. Complained ref kangarooing April 2019 and 1st update never fixed it. Fed up waiting for the update that was supposed to be out 2nd quarter 2019. So moving on.

Has anyone else had news of a fix coming through in a bulletin on 20 August?  Dealership advised news came through today. Thought there would be more buzz given the extent of the issues noted here if this was the case.

Yeah, dealer just phoned me to get my Octavia booked in for the update but they must be busy, it’s 3 weeks away. Hopefully the update doesn’t get pulled before then...!

That's really good news from my point of view... I only put in an official claim yesterday about this issue and the very next day there is a potential fix!! I hope they can get to you promptly and that this fix takes care of things!

Is this supposed to be a fix for a Karoq with the roo & 2nd gear problems or something different ?

Yes, this relates to the 1st and 2nd gear juddering and power curve/loss issues in low gears.

Do you know if a version for MY18 is available?

Don't know details I'm afraid. Might be best to give your local dealership a call to check if they've had the relevant bulletin too.

I would but they are useless .

Interesting because I too have been advised by Skoda to expect a call from my dealer. Fingers crossed that this is it.🤞

Sorry to read that. My dealership have done right by me for my last car and sorting out this one. Best of luck, let's hope this fix is "the one"!
