Why 'Rumours' of Plug in Hybrids, they know if they are doing them or not.

Con anyway as there is no Great Fuel Consumption Reduction with Plug In Hybrids, the public and Governments are not being fooled by them,

they will just be Electric Plug in space hoggers with limit miles covered running only electricity.

The Technology must exist with GPS / WiFi etc that as these enter Towns / Built Up Areas that the ICE is disabled fully and if not then they get no 'special treatment' lower VED as a 'Green Vehicle'.

I'm on day 4 of my updated software and so far its better with no power loss......very early days as only done 100 miles, but local start stop miles are a better test than motorway driving. I've been deliberately pulling away with lower revs to as had been compensating. Its possibly had a slight judder in 2nd but barely noticeable. Still think the 500 mile test so it can learn to my driving style is a joke as my wife drives it as well. I'm not sticking motorway miles on to appease the dealer and do a false test.

My lease company have started talking about a refusal and taking it back.

Trouble is in the company cars world diesels are being battered. The 1.4tsi can only claim 10p a mile where as 1.5tsi is 15p a mile. Makes me think this is why this engine was developed to entice the company fleets in.....should of just made the 1.4tsi a 1401CC and we'd all be happy.

I'll keep you updated on my update.......my lease company had refused me to drive to the south of France in a few weeks and VW assist was providing me a Passat estate for a month as a like for like.....a saloon turned up Monday (no good for a family of 5)....I drove 8 miles in the Passat that came from Bristol (a few hours away) and the dealer called me to collect my Superb and leave the Passat with them. Transpires if the dealer has the car for more than 48hrs they pay for the VW lease/hire.

My 1.5 manual (2019) build had the hesitation software upgrade several hundred miles ago and the fault has not reappeared.

My car has never suffered from the kangarooing, its strange that some cars suffer while others do not?

And yet some models across the VAG range are still being sold to customers with the 1.5tsi............respect?

In Finland all cars still selling with 1.5tsi (except Audi A4)

Absolutely no respect for Finnish customers from VW Group then.;)

They do not respect customers all over the world! And it will not remain without consequences ...

It could be dealer specific than… I'm from Latvia, and its mixed over here - no 1.5 TSI skoda's on the price lists of each model (they are still selling a few they actually have in stock available on the spot), no 1.5 on Audi's, but I still saw 1.5 on VW and Seat price lists. Dunno what would happen you actually called them and asked, maybe they are just lazy with updating their price lists online.

Why not?

I have one that runs great.

Truth be told, mine is a DSG 4x4 with substantial CO2 emissions (149 g/km).

If you feed them, they work. Don't we all? :)

A high percentage of 1.5tsi engines appear to be ok ..........so far ! Just feel sorry for the customers that buy a dud kangaroo and then gets the runaround from the dealers with lies and promises like in the last 18 months!

After months of waiting for the second software update to fix the kangarooing (April 2019 registered complaint) I have decided enough is enough with no sign of any update. 1st software update was for hesitation and has made no difference as foreseen by the service manager at my dealer who was reluctant to do the update as he knew it wouldn't work but was instructed to do do by Skoda.

I formally rejected the car today, so I was shocked to be told by the Skoda head office representative that they regard the kangarooing as a "characteristic" of the engine and not grounds for rejection.

I am disgusted by this change in attitude by Skoda who have encouraged me to wait for the update (due Q2 2019 but who knows when now) and if that's their regard for a loyal, patient customer, then it's confirmed my decision is the right one.

Oh, no, they haven't resurrected the 'characteristic' bollo have they??? I thought that we'd left that one behind now that VW has admitted that there's a problem with the engine. It would be interesting to see how they defended the term 'characteristic' if it ever came to a court case.

That’s crazy. This is a clear message not to buy anything from the VW Group as they aren’t being ethical.

I got mine rejected so how they can say no to you or anyone else is staggering, I’m still waiting for monies owing since rejection in may 23rd which is a disgrace, ombudsman looking at it but at least I’m not still driving it.

They have accepted numerous rejections including mine, they are a utter disgrace going back to that line.

I am absolutely amazed by VW/Skodas attitude to customers complaints, pretty much a could not care less approach, how can a major car manufacturer behave like this?.

If you want good customer care service from a Dealer then only Lexus seem to deliver these days, according to their customers. Auto Express survey this week Skoda slipped another 4 places from 6th last year to current no.10 position.

Skoda could have been up there with a bit of customer care ,would have not cost them a lot compared to the sales/customers they have lost at average £20,000 a pop,if it wasn’t for dieselgate I could have been driving a 1.5 tsi karott, thank f### for dieselgate I could have be kangarooing for the last year.

I am trying to reject my 2 month old Karoq sel 1.5tsi manual at present (fault reported at about 5 weeks) for kangaroo, stalling & being reluctant in 2nd.  Dealer has not seen my car. Had it booked in but had a call a few days before to say not to take it as there was nothing they could do. Wrote to reject car, then they found update for RPM & idle control they want to try. Reluctant because of other reports. Executive office say i need to have it done & fault verified. Dealership say they have been instructed by "the Brand" not to accept the rejection and they would respond to my letter without even seeing my car. I was told regardless of the outcome, the result will be the same. They are still calling it a "characteristic" which is not in any brochure i have seen & i certainly wasn't told about it before i ordered my car.

Yet on the vw troc forum someone has rejected a 3 day old troc and got an excellent deal on a Touareg rline for only £40 more per month instead of £150.

If you have not already done so, read the Which? Magazine advice and similar websites. You have missed the one-month deadline, like me and probably most people who were not pushy and who felt they would give Skoda a chance to fix this.

You are now in the 2-6 month period, where you can still reject, and the law is still on your side in creating a presumption that the fault was there from new. The dealer/supplier is entitled to deduct something from the refund for wear and tear, but I, and others, have not suffered such a reduction.

There is another issue which you now seem to have arrived at.  What you have to do in this 2-6 month period, which is not relevant in the up-to-one-month period, is give the dealer one chance to fix the fault. Tell the dealer you will take the car in and allow them to apply the update, otherwise the law will support them.

If this fixes the car, well and good. If not, then the dealer has had his chance and you are entitled to reject.

The above is a layman's interpretation of UK law and I assume you are putting everything in writing. Best of luck.

There is the Safety issue and VW Group having provided loan cars as drivers are reporting the characteristics as a danger to them, passengers and other road users.

Dealerships and VW UK, Skoda UK need to remember their corporate responsibility.  Buck goes to the top people.

DVSA know the issues, pan off the general public, take the line that VW have feed them.

Chris Grayling MP gone, Secretary of State for Transport is Grant Shaaps MP so get your letters off.

Get in touch with the DVSA.

Known issues, accepted and admitted to to a certain degree, various different owners / drivers being treated differently.

Contact CAB which gets you to Trading Standards or just go right to a Solicitor.

Whether they call it a characteristic or fault is irrelevant. Consumer Right Act is on your side. You can reject as' not fit for purpose/ not satisfactory quality/ doesn't perform as a reasonable consumer would expect/misleading omissions I.e. You were not informed of 'characteristic' before purchase'. Plus precedent has been set.... Lots of successful rejections. Strongly recommend you get in touch with Which? Legal Services. You pay approx £9/mth to be a member (can cancel at any time) and you get free legal advice. They also monitor issues they are dealing with. So too many 1.5 issues and it will kick start a Which? investigation. They gave us brilliant advice when we had to fight to reject out Karoq last year. We had to listen to all the 'characteristic' baloney too and bullying to get us to keep car. Successfully rejected and got a full refund.
