The wife was 50 last month and she's nearly as HOT as Tina was 32 years ago. Might have something to do with the heat outside. Glad I'm not at work today.:tongueout:

Apologies for being off topic but..

I remember those  1980s days well, Prior to the NEC I saw Iron Maiden, Saxon, Gary Moore, Blackfoot, Scorpions, Thin Lizzy, Motorhead etc at the old Brum Odeon. NEC I saw Iron Maiden, The Who, Alannah Myles, Robert Plant, Rush etc. Monsters of Rock at Castle Donnington, in 83 and 85 with ZZ Top, Whitesnake, Marillion, Magnum and a load more. THE gig that I cannot forget was Status Quo on there 1st fair well tour in 84 and had Phil Lynott and..Chaz and Dave supporting them at Crystal Palace football stadium, totally bonkers. I'm mid 50s now and I still listen to em all.

UPDATE: Miss spelt the name Gary More unfortunately missing the r. Thanks xman for pointing this out.

I wouldn't, he was a very good axe man, it might hurt if he was woken all of a sudden. 😊

Back to the 1.5tsi, add the Skoda Scala to the list where the 1.5tsi has been deleted.

So far 1.5tsi suddenly gone missing in action in

Skoda Scala

Skoda Superb

Skoda Kodiaq

Seat Tarraco

Seat Leon

VW Passat

Audi A3

There may be more casualties

Draw your own conclusion

Add the Seat Arona to the list as well.

Lex called me yesterday and Skoda have agreed to the rejection and offered a bit of compensation, glad they have done the decent thing.

Question is what to get next, I need as much space as possible but a low BIK.

I beleive so myself. You cannot have different behavior in the same engine with the same ecu version. Unless there are mechanical diffeerences or different fine tuning in mechanical parts.

Late comment from me on this issue.  My Superb Estate 1.5 TSi manual (successfully rejected) included optional extras of pano roof and retractable towbar. As I understand it, this meant that the WLTP process was different than for a "standard" 1.5 TSi manual. After all, the car would have weighed more than the standard model and the fuel consumption and emissions figures would have been different. I would not be surprised if you told me that the ECU contained different programming from the "standard" model.

(Aside: my dealer told me in passing that he was not allowed to accept orders for a Kodiaq with towbar on account of WLTP issues.)

When the Kodiaq was released there were certain models that weren't type approved for tow bars which was crazy. I don't know what the situation would be if you fitted an aftermarket one?

Well as a new Karoq owner 2.0LTdi Scout I feel for all you guys that have kangaroos, why you may ask? We have recently rejected our 1.5 TSI Evo after 6 months of ownership fantastic car except for the judder, highlighted issue after attempting to overcome the stutter for the first month believing it was something my wife or I was doing with a new different model?

Kept a full log of visits calls and contacted persons as a record even allowed garage to try to repair car but unfortunately they where unable to do so. Took 5 months and 10,000 miles but finally got a full refund! This is a definite fault and god knows what the kangarooing 🦘 is doing to drivetrain and was something I wasn’t prepared to live with,or risk issues further down the ownership life!

New Karoq feels a more sorted car and so far very very happy with it!

How is the Tdi in comparison, kangaroo all gone? I had a 2.0Tdi in my 15 plate Octavia Estate (before the Karoq) is it still the same engine as that pulled really well?

After I rejected my 1.5 earlier this year, long process but worked out well in the end and got all payments back, I purchased a Tdi Sportline 4x4. It’s a great car, lots of torque, quick enough for everyday driving. I get anywhere between 42mpg to 51 mpg although this seems to be improving all the while. Got it in March and have 6000 on the clock now, cracking car and banishes all of those kangarocking moments!

interesting  you say that. My Superb has a factory fit towbar.

I'm at home awaiting VW support to drop me off a long term Passat as loan at the moment, for at least until after I drive to the France as I have no trust in mine. Lease company have refused me driving the Superb. Its having a software update and then want me to drive for 600 miles before I decide if I'm happy.

If it goes back i'm the same as earlier thread.....loads if space and low BIK.....government seems to want to hit diesels with company car tax. Although I borrowed my parents caravan in the 1.5 and 400miles cost me about £100 at under 25 mpg

As regards you guys changing the 1.5 for a diesel, that's fine if you do enough miles to not have DPF etc. problems but if you don't then where do you go? I considered a 2.0 petrol though didn't want AWD really and definitely didn't want a panoramic roof so I was stuffed.

I'm borderline really only 10k per year hence I went for the 1.5 Petrol, I'd imagine the emissions would be  too high to make the petrol 2.0 a viable option as a company vehicle.

With the diesel bashing and penalties increasing year on year I might well end up opting out of the car scheme and taking a non plug in Hybrid on a PCP deal so if the technology changes to say Hydrogen fuel cell then I'm not stuck with an expensive lemon, all electric would be no good as they just don't have the range (yet)

(Mine was  a Superb, so this may not be relevant to you.)

I was prepared to replace mine with "nearly new" rather than brand new.  I spent a couple of weeks looking for a late 1.4 TSi as I could have picked one up with similar mileage and age to my early 1.5 TSi, which was six months old and I had done 8,000 miles from new.  Even though that mileage may seem high, it was a bit of a one-off period/pattern and so switching to diesel really wasn't an option for me.  But once my rejection was accepted, I felt I couldn't go on waiting for the right car to materialise, so I have now switched makes altogether.

Edit: I didn't really want to go to 2-litre, the only other petrol option on the Superb, on account of fuel economy costs.

I bought a Karoq Scout (2 ltr 4x4 diesel) back in April and have had major stall problems. The dealership have tried to blame it on my 'driving style'. What I have established to date is that if you turn off  the 'start - stop' feature the problem goes away. Strange that - my driving style which I have developed over the last 58 yrs is capable of changing itself each time I press a button. Personally I think it is 2 features fighting for control of the throttle and my favourite pair is the 'hold' feature and the 'start and stop'. Those folks who say it doesn't apply across the board is because the feature is not available on the basic entry level car. What say you? This problem will not  go away and whilst I like the car I will start looking into returning it and getting my money back. There are so many entries in this one forum that surely Skoda can't continue to ignore it or have they got a fix and just haven't released it yet. I had another example today of pulling out into a stream of traffic and it stalled with a large lorry bearing down on me, Not safe, not comfy and not acceptible

So you are saying you have the same problem in a 2 litre car?

Get your left foot and leg checked at your MD. orthopedic  2.0 TDI is absolutely different powertrain in comparison to 1.5 TSI

Just look at non-turbo 2.0L petrol Mazda's. The small cx-3 already has like 140 CO2g/km, larger models have even more.

I'm in the same boat with diesel bashing especially in the company car market, plus I'm not looking to change make as The Superb itself  is a nice motor and equivalent size as a company car in other makes was about £200 a month more for less spec...

Anyway, back to the issue in hand. Mine had the latest software update yesterday and I've been asked to run for 500miles as a test so it can relearn my driving style. (Don't see the point as my wife drives it as well and my driving style doesn't cause the power loss). That said although its very early days we both think it's smoother. I've been testing by pulling away with less revs and so far so good.

Skoda / VW UK are simply clever.

If they leave Updates to the 3rd Quarter then the Cold Weather / Cold Start issue if relevant is likely to not be occurring.

I only got my car 1st May so all problems have been in warmish weather anyway. My loss of power is after I've driven for a bit and engine is warm, the kangarooing is on a cold engine. When starting now I noticed it sits at 1100rpm for 30sec or so before dropping. (Learning my style is bull. Shouldn't loose power whatever the style)

I'm sceptical judging by this thread it will be resolved. Been told its approx. 1 in 100 cars so in theory be ok if they change the car. On the upside its been cleaned 3 times by the dealer.
