Bit early for dogging?:tongueout:

@Apprentice

It will be interesting to see what they say regarding your car and any updates,

then you could if need be compare to Victoria Garage in Maud where not only do they have all the gear but more than just an idea.

You don't get much feedback from them other than the job was done and your vehicle has been hoovered and washed.

Edit:-

Just checked location for Victoria Garage in Maud and I see it is near Peterhead which is around 162 miles away according to googull.

It is not Skoda Secret Service although they would like it to be.

Just ask the Service Desk to get a responsible adult with technical knowledge to put in writing the actions carried out and sign it.

Drivers are responsible for safety and other road users and somehow these muppets think your property is for them to know about and you to be grateful.

They forget the Customer is the ones that mean they can go to work.

And that sums it up admirably!!

Someone on the Troc forum is getting a new engine in their 2020 version when its delivered. It is supposed to fix the kangaroo problem.

Edited by tigermad

New engine proper or just a new Engine Control Unit?

@tigermad

I take it that means a MY20 car is arriving with an engine that will be WLTP Approved and comes with RDE2 figures.

That will be the engines any MY20 1.5 TSI EVO models will come with.  Not some special 1 off.

I’m not sure though because the new brochure says it’s not RDE2 so I’m confused.

They have had enough time to sort things considering not all engines / vehicles had the issues.

Then they had Paying Customers as 'Road Test Dummies' trying out the 'Software Updates' if they were still driving these while others have 'Loan cars'.

Vorsprung Durch Technik.  Learn by leaving lemons out on public roads.

Thinking of handing mine back, will have to have a serious talk with Skoda Maidstone about my options or l walk away. Gone on to long with no end in sight.

@Ducked

Skoda UK and the Dealership should be able to source a like for like or better car with no issues from these ones that the Sales People and Management all drive.

There must be so many about that Skoda UK / VW Group still own which are at dealerships where they have never heard of issues and they drive the cars as their daily.

I hope so because we do like Skoda but if they can't help out then it's there loss and they loose our custom

I think the post you replied to was written with a bit of sarcasm 🙂

Hi Ducked. Are you dealing with the best Skoda dealer at Quarry Wood?

It seems mine will be heading straight to auction once it's picked up from the dealer, God help whoever buys it 😲 I think they go through BCA so I shall be interested to see what it  goes for....although they should not be allowed to put some poor unsuspecting soul at risk.

Funny enough my local Dealer has 2 manual 1.5TSi Karoq's for sale at the moment (think we all know why?) and ours may be joining their collection by the end of the month just trying to decide which Octavia to replace it with.:sadsmile:

I'm taking a 2.0 Tdi SE Tech Octavia Estate from the fleet pool for now.....arrives tomorrow!  I enjoyed my last one but it was a bit vanilla, however I'll take steady and reliable with the bags of mid range grunt happily for now!

Arrived at Arnold C around 9.00am yesterday the Karoq ran like the proverbial dream on the 70 mile trip East to the big city much as it has done since passing the 1000 mile mark since the April 30th "hesitation" update.

After speaking to the outfront service people I decided it was financially better for me not to have a diagnostic test done as they wouldn't find anything wrong in relation to post update issues (no longer apparent) and so as the diagnostic wasn't covered under warranty if there were no faults found I would have to pay for the test, either £114 or £140 as I didn't hear too well what she said softly in an Inverness accent.

Just as well I had other things to do plus meeting up for lunch with a couple of friends I hadn't seen since early in June.

Must say the Karoq was fun to drive and great at passing some slow driving tourists in their hired Mokkas etc. doing the North Coast 500 or on their way to the Isle of Skye and all the chaos that ensues when they get there (not all their fault). Fuel consumption was between 43mpg on the way in and 48mpg on the way back.

This has been my experience also. Plenty of power to overtake crawlers when needed.

Initially the car suffered from 2nd gear hesitation but never the kangarooing issue in first gear.

The software update was applied about 1000 miles ago and the 2nd gear problem has never reappeared. As the engine loosens (total mileage now about 4000) so the fuel consumption has  reduced . Driving in very hilly Northumberland a mix of A and B roads returns about 42 mpg so I am completely satisfied, less so with the main dealer but that is another story.

With the price differential between petrol and diesel, fuel costs are now comparable to my previous 1.6D Octavia that used to return 50+ mpg.

Probably the quietest driving car I have owned, but that could be because my hearing is not what it used to be!

It would seem that the software update sorts out the problems in MY19 cars, it certainly has for mine.
