2nd time he's wasted my time trying to buy a VRS handbrake.. asks for pics.. then doesn't reply for a week.. then asks for more pics.. then minces around for another week.. then wants metal part as well.. then cant reconnect leather to metal bit..

Then wants another VRS handbrake.. so i remove it with metal bit.. then wants more pics!! Then doesn't reply back!!!!

When he does reply his conversations make no sense because he can barely speak English!! Haven't got time for muppets!!

I'm not naming who, as I didn't make the transaction, but a long time member on here contacted me to code their car for a Columbus they had bought from someone on here, advertised in the For Sale section.

 

The unit is faulty - it doesn't communicate on the CANBUS at all - infact, it brings the entire bus down. You cannot access the unit via VCDS, and the unit behaves as if it is connected to power only - it doesn't turn on and off with the ignition and turns itself off after about 20 minutes when you are driving. It doesn't communicate with the Maxidot or the steering wheel controls. The CAN gateway logs an error that it cannot communicate with Radio or Navigation on the Infotainment data bus.

 

The user who purchased it has since contacted the seller, who has refused to refund as they say they 'sold the unit in good faith'

 

Unfortunately, I have hard evidence to the contrary. If a moderator or admin (or even Colin) would like to contact me I can provide this. The seller knew this unit was faulty months ago and removed it from their car. I know this, as they contacted another member for advice and help, who in turn contacted me at the time. Unfortunately for the seller, the internet makes the world a small place. The advert they placed in the for sale section on here even includes a photo of CDs with the handwriting of the member they contacted for help, that I recognise, as they too have provided me with various firmware CDs over the years with the same handwriting on them.

 

I am not going to name anyone in public, as I believe this should be resolved between the two individuals concerned, but I cannot believe that a member from this forum thinks it is acceptable to behave like this in the selling of and falsely advertising of the Columbus.

 

Perhaps an admin, mod or Colin would like to comment on the stance of Briskoda in cases such as this, and what level of assistance they are willing to provide the aggrieved party in recovering their money.
