Need to get mine booked in soon.  3 year warranty is up on 15th Jan 2021 so will get the MOT done as soon as I can in Dec incase it throws anything up that I can get sorted under warranty.  Car only has 23k on it (6k of which I put on it since purchasing it at the beginning of the year) so hopefully should sail through.

Is it worth looking into extending the warranty with the dealers or can you get this elsewhere cheaper....what do people normally do in these situations as this is the first car I've owned that's had any warranty on it.

I did the exact same myself. I did not however look at my mpg...just my oil temp 😉

I'm quite enjoying the even plusher ride on the 17 inch Dunlops. It's like driving a sofa around town!

The winter tyres help a lot because the walls are softer. I'm going to fit all weather tyres to mine when I need to change.

Got a new rear tyre today to replace one bought in August which had two nails in it.

Only got 2400 miles out of the "old" one - dammit!

After a few months of ownership I have got rid of the yellow tinge from the front!

(Yes I know LED will affect front fogs, never used them in 4 years on the last car so can't see it affecting me!)

I mentioned that point upon the 20000 mile service for my MY17 Mk3.

They told that they applied a Service Bulletin to put some grease on the silent blocks for the front sway bar. It solved the problem for some months, but it came back.

I've notice the creaking noise increases, as the weather gets more humid and/or colder...

I'm curious to get your feedbacks about the solution they will propose you.

Car back from the dealers....some good news and bad news.  Emissions light they could not find a root cause for so cleared the fault and told me to call Skoda Assist out if it comes on again, doesn't seem too unreasonable I guess.  The day after the light came on I had to nip out for some bits and the oil level warning light came on so I stopped and checked it and could barely see anything on the bottom of the dipstick so went and purchased some (fairly cheap as I knew it was going in for the oil change service) so wondered if this might be related.  Also made me wonder if it ACTUALLY got serviced by MotorDepot before I drove it away back in Feb this year (done about 6k miles since).

Oil change service all done and dusted, was expecting to pay £184 for the privilege then just happened to check the skoda website for service plan prices and when I entered my reg number in it told me there was already a service plan in place for my car.  Hastily digs out my documentation from when I purchased the car and low and behold there were 2 services purchased by the last owner.  When I rocked up at the garage I asked them straight away to print me a copy of the service history which he duly did, and saw that it had only had 1 dealer service prior to me purchasing it.....so this one is free then I said ?  The bloke wasn't very happy when he checked and realised it was....priceless and a very nice surprise.

Creaking noise from the suspension they put down to the undertray being loose which they secured.  I was slightly dubious at this as you sort of know roughly where these noises/feelings come from.  The car does sound a lot quieter generally now so I'm pretty sure that the undertray may have been loose however the noises are still there so it's gonna have to go back in for them to have another look.  Either that or I get the MOT done somewhere else mid-month next month and see if that flags anything up and then I take it back in for them to sort it under warranty (assuming it's covered of course) which I'd hope it would be on a car that's only done 23k miles and still under warranty.

Will let you know how things pan out.

Creaking sound will be the anti roll bar bushes. Had mine replaced under warranty and voila, creakiness all gone...

Just ordered a Sportline rear bumper diffusor by Superskoda... I don't know if it's 'Black friday', but I've never seen such a bargain: Only 150€, whereas it's around 450€ by my local dealer... I'm eagger to receive it...

Was 249€ when I bought one 2 yrs ago from Superskoda.

About 2 months ago, they reduced it to 150€!!

Would b even cheaper now with the current black Friday 20% off sale!!!

You're right... One day too soon... The Black Friday discounts stacks with very special low price. It's now only 119€ ... :o

I'll contact them to see If I can get refunded from the difference... Who knows...

Well, emissions light is back on so as advised I've called Skoda Assist.  I have to say I'm massively impressed with this service (2nd time I've had to call them in 8 months).  Called them at 9.50am this morning and a Skoda technician turned up just over an hour later.  Hooked his laptop up and straight away found that the Glow Plug control unit is faulty.  Replacement part ordered from the factory and he's coming back out to fit it tomorrow under warranty.  Fingers crossed that sorts it once and for all.  Starting the think the guys at the dealers just cleared the fault last week as they couldn't be arsed to deal with it.  Will ring them up about the creaking noise and get that booked in to be looked at/sorted before getting it MOT'd.

Thanks for all the help/pointers on here....very useful.

Fitted shadow lights, didn’t realise the back door ones are reflectors and have no bulbs 🙄. So I have a pair of spares now I suppose. E5F279CB-72EC-47EA-B386-0C208AA9FE6A.thumb.png.4451fafcde9ef03191683fe3a18da149.png

It can be retrofitted to the rear doors.

I did it a while ago now.

At least your bumper protector fits. Mine was not so successful, stainless steel version from Amazon which does not stay stuck down.

@Colin170CR I bought it 2 years and a half ago from superskoda.com too. It never moved. Fully satisfied with it. 👍😉

Bulk update as I've missed a few...

2nd service on my '19, with the pandemic, hardly made more than a few thousand miles on it.

Mentioned a creaking in the front suspension, speedbump, manouvering etc, noticeable more on lock. They removed and lubricated bits n bobs; service bulletin for superbs. Creaking almost eliminated. More-so if I recall the pre-power steering days of only turning while rolling.

Fitted a superskoda boot lip protector; gloss black for sportline tie in; fitted when it was warmer <10min job. I already have a DIY boot protector in the form of an old wool blanket. I fold it out when I open the boot, and I put it back in on top of whatever I put in the boot. It's held in place by the boot tray and emergency triangle... makes for a nice warm thing to sit on after a walk. Would double up as warmth if I got stuck, I guess if the 4x4 truly failed me I could lay it down to get out of some mud...

On thursday decided to go for a early morning walk, parked up in the 'wrong' layby, facing traffic on the right, about 20m before a blind corner. Excited to go for a walk it was only when I was on the hill it dawned on my that to pull out I'd have to drive the wrong way, with about 20m to the apex of a blind corner, on a 50mhp a road, "stupid boy" rang in my ears. The next layby is where I normally park, I was just half asleep. When I got back, I warmed the engine, while finishing my ribenna, nudged myself back and forth to get a good angle out; dam superminins parking really close boot to nose. Wound all the windows down, when only the sound of trees was heard, went for it. Given the layby was gravel/mud and the road wet, air temp was 0.0... I was happy to be out and across, happier still the 4x4 works :D  I'd been worrying about that 'manoeuvrer' for 4hours while walking. Less happy at the muddy backside It has.

Hi

I was trying to fit into mine but there is no connectors at all. Are they hidden somewhere?

Make sure your boot lid doesn't now touch the protector - adjust the stops at the side if it does. Skoda fitted an original Skoda protector to mine from new and forgot to do the adjustment which resulted in paint chips and rust spots after 6 months. In fairness they did repair it at no cost and I had already adjusted the stops, but something to watch for.

The lights should come with a connector and flying leads which go into a multi-plug inside the door.

The door card needs to be removed and the lights need coding afterwards.
