What have you done to your Superb III today?

Spent yesterday prepping the BRB* for our 3,000 mile trip to Sicily. Wash and wax. Cleaned interior and boot. Looks beautiful. Those Alcantara seats buff up nice.

Checked fluids, topped up window washer. Must find a flat spot to check oil. Where I park, if you're on one side of the street the level is too high, the other side it's too low. And the offside front tyre was about 3 psi low, so I'll check it again in a couple days and see if a trip to KwikFit is a good idea. 36 psi all around.

I've got 28 destinations programmed into the sat nav. I numbered them to keep them in chronological order.

I'm pretty excited about this trip. But, one concern is the size of the car. Great for carrying all your stuff, but having StreetViewed some of the places we'll be driving around in Italy, you understand why a Fiat 500 is a popular choice.

Fantastic!

I’ve done the trip twice, once in 98 and again in 2018.

2nd time was in a motorhome, we had a few close calls with width but at least it had aircon that time….

I hope you had an amazing trip!

Side Assist 5Q0 -> 2Q0 swap

Just did it out of curiosity, so far I've only coded everything. Haven't even gone out to test it yet.

Hi,

Just curious. What does the 5Q0 have, that 2Q0 hasn't ?

Nice job!

I have the conversion here too. I'll do it this week. I've had the parts for a while now. The coding and data set were already done in advance. But I did it with a P&P cable set. So I just have to swap the plugs. The exterior mirrors will then both get LEDs from the front-view mirrors: the side ones like the FL Superb and the ones in the glass.

sonax extreme + paint brush = insanely clean wheels.Ready for storage

Perfect weather today to fit this. Bought from Kopacek but like @yesman I had to cut back the 3 prongs on the back to fit as they were too long

Looking good.👍

Yep, definitely worth a test fit after removing the old adhesive. For a supposed original part I was surprised by the longer pegs.

Although the extras you get from Kopacek to fit it is pretty good too. It's definitely going nowhere.

Hi Zacko,

Sorry but nothing to do with your post, just a quick question. After having a towbar fitted I had a rattle behind the bumper, after a quick inspection I found the plug for the rear parking sensors hanging down and what looks like a clip on it for it to clip in a hole on the body work, I think it's the one I have circled in your photo. Not sure they didn't if the hole isn't accessible with the type of aftermarket towbar I have, they are normally very good so I'll be surprised if they missed it.

Am I right, should it be clip securely in to the body

I just got an alcohol wipe! Did you get something else? I didn't really following their instructions to be honest. I butchered the old badge off and used sticky stuff remover to get rid of the left over padding, clay bar, then the alcohol wipe. The instructions said to use primer, didn't bother with that

I got the wipe and a small vial of 3m 94 tape primer, I used it as they'd sent it,

My badge came of fairly easy with dental floss, just used Autoglym tar remover for the old adhesive and a plastic razor blade, which worked out really well.

Ah, just found the primer. Oh well, it's well stuck down without it!

Just had my car locked picked a few days ago to gain access because my key got shut in the boot. (On holiday, no spare...Can't get)

Then on way back, before reaching home, warning lights galore so I suppose I am gonna have to do more things to it soon😂

Ich habe es gerade aus Neugier gemacht, bisher habe ich nur alles codiert. Ich bin noch nicht einmal ausgegangen, um es zu testen.

I've done it now, too. I've cut or reconnected all the P&P wiring harnesses on the vehicle without any connectors. And both LEDs in the exterior mirror are usable.

Yes, this connector has a clip to mount here

Cool, thanks, now a question if I can put it back without removing the bumper!!🫤

Bought a scan tool (carista), looked at battery values which I suspect is source of my fault codes.

Battery ordered from Tayna coming in a couple days. Will fit and code then fingers crossed no more faults....

Battery swapped, coded. All back to normal!

Oil change today, nothing special to report but the front active shocks are slightly misting. That'll be £600 + fitting before next mot for bilstein b6 damptronics as mot history says this is the second pair leaking already.

At the back, i also changed the haldex fluid, checked the filter and replaced seals. Happy to report that was unnecessary as there was nothing on the filter and barely a few bits in the housing

Quite confident now that the recommended interval of 30.000 miles WITH filter cleaning is correct for haldex 5. Main dealer does not clean this which led to a burnt out pump for me only 7000 miles after i paid through the ass for them to service the car

Funnily enough that still works just fine. This is what burnt out my pump

And it was still somewhat working through until the motor gave up

Hi there, tried retrofitting a 2023 Sportline steering wheel to my 2020 Superb. Love the perforated leather look.

Due to maddening rear brakes squeal from pagid pads i put ebc redstuff pads last night. As soon as the bed in coating wore off they started squealing again.. now having put copper grease everywhere necessary i am convinced the only thing left to change is the brake discs themselves. I'm very tempted to find 280ps carriers so i can put vented discs now

Summer wheels back on my Mk3 again.

Brake discs and pads thickness checked. All good for front and rear axles. 🙂

Now just a deep clean of outside and inside before selling it.

A MY2022 Kodiaq TDI200 4x4 L&K has arrived few days ago to replace my "old good" Mk3 Estate.
