Yes. Quality is 100% far better than any others I've seen. It's a remade OEM part, and the paint matches exactly too.

I listed my shopping list from them in an earlier reply ^

Yeh sorry I found that as I scrolled down. I reported myself to try get it deleted.

I got the cheap black ones from online auction place as a stop gap after car for detailed. Still waiting on the Kopacek ones to arrived. Took the chance and ordered the coloured infill too.

How long for delivery on yours  ? I ordered over a week ago and had the text from royal mail to say it's coming but not yet in country.

I best sell some stuff and buy some!! Thanks for that

After having the new (to us) Sportline we have been getting to grips with driving an auto for the first time ever.

Due to Covid the salesman could not accompany us on a drive when we collected the car last Saturday so this has got to be the first time I have actually looked at the owners hand book.

Tried cruise briefly yesterday on the M6 but not sure about the distance radar settings, anyhow would rather manage distance driving myself for now.

It looks as though it needs its first wash due to the dust thats floating about.

Also looking at a bumper top protector, which is a shame as I am not keen but am sure it will become scratched over time with using the boot.

Martin

Took it to distant lands (Castleford) to pick up pick up my daughter's new car. Subsequently embarrassed by the chrome window trim popping off on the passenger side (second time that's happened with same daughter - maybe I'll trade her in) after I parked it up. When I got home I took to the rubber trim for a second time to cut off the offending piece. I'd already trimmed a small piece off some weeks ago when it happened. This time I took the entire chrome trim off the front window, cut it down to a sensible minimum then refixed the chrome.

Though I never had an issue with the driver's side the dealer 'fixed' that (i.e. did a half-*rsed job until I made them do it again) but looks like they never did the passenger side. Odd that it took 6 years to manifest itself.

Where did you order from? I have a set from https://www.officialcarmats.co.uk waiting in my garage already

How have they worn, and what quality did you opt for?

I always seem to cut through any heel pad unless it's metal, which looks rubbish unless you're in a trackday motor

Hey Martin, check my earlier pix, I had a shiny bumper topper already fitted when I got my car. Opted for black to give the monochrome look. Some others here have opted for a clear sticker, which I'd certainly consider if the bumper on mine wasn't already scored.

I just checked and it was the prestige ones I bought. The other 3 all look excellent but the driver's one has the usual dimple from my foot.

I don't know if the prestige mats were supposed to have a double thick area on the driver's mat, but mine does not.

Washed the sportline for the first time since collecting it last Saturday, tried polishing with Auto Glym high definition polish but by 10:30 am it was far too hot on the body panells, only managed the rear bumper.

Cleaned the alloys with Turtle wax RL wheel cleaner which did a good job.

Martin.

Got her to the garage. Prop shaft bearing.

Nearest one is in the Czech Republic.

they reckon it’s safe to drive, which kind of goes against my grain of engineering knowledge around bearings that have failed.

tune in next week for, shopping for new exhaust, transmission, gearbox, pants.

Took our sportline to a local Westfalia approved tow bar fitter this morning to have a vertical detachable tow hook with 13 pin electrics fitted along with the recomended systems coding,I was assured by the Skoda dealer that the car had factory towing preperation fitters said it didn't , they had to fit a new fuse box in the luggage area and run wires to the fuse box, (will check with caravan weekend), didn't want anymore payment for the extra works.

I booked it on-line with a discount code and was quite reasonable.

They spent 10 mins showing how to install the hook, how to get to the fuse box behind the glove box and which the towing electric fuses were and said once the electric's were hooked up an image of a trailer would be displayed on the central screen.

Sounds good to me.

Martin.

Yesterday, I washed the car for the first time in two months. Today, it takes me about 10 minutes to stand up straight.

Yesterday, I filled it with petrol. It was 10 months since my last visit to a petrol pump. It was the most expensive tank ever: £93.61 for 62.87 litres of premium unleaded. 28.7 mpg on my last tankful.

I blame evaporation and city driving.

Yesterday, I drove to Dungeness with four in the car. Two hours each way. Today, it takes me about 10 minutes to stand up straight.

We had the beach to ourselves and the fish'n'chips was excellent.

Car ran great. 4.5 year old battery fired right up.

I'm with you on the aching & stiff limbs - washing cars is for younger bones!

Surprised your battery has lasted that long. My 2016 L&K battery gave up earlier this year after 6 months of inactivity. Even with regular recharging & trickle charging it still would not hold a charge for more than a couple of days on the drive. OEM batteries seem to fail anywhere from 3 years onwards - i.e. just after the warranty runs out!

Me, too. I keep waiting for it to fail, but it fires up first time, every time, even after sitting outside for weeks at a time.

We're taking a week-long holiday in August. I'm debating whether to replace the battery before we go. In the end, I'll probably wait for the first time it fails and get some use out of this breakdown policy I've been paying for for the past four years and never used. Damn the inconvenience!

Doh. After 3 years of ownership I've just found out I've got a virtual pedal on my 2016 L&K.

I wondered why the tailgate would sometimes close on it's own accord & now I know. I didn't think it was a std fit on an 2016 L&K so the previous owner must have spec'd it. Just have to watch out when I'm loading shopping into the car that I don't accidentally activate it while leaning into the boot. I found all this out while I was removing an old stainless rear bumper protector & installing a new PVC one. The fit of the Skoda PVC one is a far better fit than the old aftermarket stainless but, it's expensive at £64 ish.

The first signs I got that the battery was on it's way out was that the Start Stop would not cut in. TBH I turn the SS off most of the time because it has a habit of cutting the engine before it comes to a stop which, when approaching a roundabout, can be a real pain if you want to move off smartly.

When it became apparent my MK4 Octavia was to be rejected I gave up any care of it in terms of cleanliness, so then add in the six weeks I waited for my Superb, it must have been about 5 months since I last washed a car.

So I'm with everyone else on the agony front, after it got it's first full wash a week ago.

The front alloys were absolutely MINGING from all the dust coming off the new brakes as well !

Glad the car is silver though, it doesn't look dirty at all unless close up!

It's kind of expendable. Warranty would not cover it anyway. ;)

Actually batteries are covered by the warranty.

I had a 5 year warranty from new on my last Superb, and last March, after 4 years and 11 months the battery failed and it was replaced under warranty.

Tinted windows, including the front ones due to the heat and sun that we have in Spain.  My baby was roasting ... Maybe too dark from the outside.  I hope you see the cars at night which is what I said at the store.

Stek nex foil on the front (graphene) and smart 35 on the back.  I insist that maybe I should have put the model 45.

What do you think?

Interesting. It seems to be quite a recent change in Skoda sales policy... or may be just a question of country-dependent strategy...

I don't think this apply to France... I'm going to check that. Thanks for the tip ! ;)

Battery is covered under factory warranty.

My battery was replaced last year at its 3 yr service mark.

Intensive cleaning of the intrior this afternon. It has been way too long I didn't do ti.

Sprayed the front and back seats with Leather conditioner & cleaner from Chemical Guys.

Satisfied with the result, the seats are now correctly moisturized, with a satin looking and a pleasant soft touch.

Also tried these 3D Shadow bulbs on the front doors. A gift from a friend owning a Sportline. He thought a needed 4 bulbs for his Sportline, when he discovered, there were no lights on the rear doors..

May be a bit "too much" for my taste. But I would appreciate the same without the Skoda Logo...

Yesterday me and the Mrs had the first longish drive to the Roman fort Vindolanda near Hadrians wall.

Averaged 43mpg on the M6 and A69.

No better than the old Volvo D5 XC 70 manual but I expect the engine is far from run in yet at 3,240 miles and hope it gets a bit better, although I think its still acceptable as it changes gear down and up which must use more fuel where the Volvo mostly would run in 6th on the same run.
