Mk3 Vrs Bolero, how to change the car picture

Featured Replies

That’s a terrible title

After messing with VCDS and having a poke around I managed to remove the picture of a car on the CAR section of the radio.

managed to get a hatch back on now but it’s not the Vrs.

its annoying me every time I see it now, anyone know how to get it back?

thanks in advance

Did you log all of the changes that you’ve made?  Should be a VCDS log file if this was the case. As a rule of thumb, I always complete an auto-scan before making any changes, then you can see what you have changed for each session.

If you have completed above, then just reverse any coding/adaptation changes that you have made.

That’s a good idea, I’ll do that next time... I noticed that if there’s a drop down menu and you use the up/down keys to scroll through the bytes on long code helper it changes the selection.

Thats what caught me out this time.

i did go through and do a map of the adaptations before I started playing so the original code should be there.

thank you

5F, bytes 0-2: 03 73 51

Byte 0: Brand, 03 = Skoda

Byte 1: Class & Generation, 73 = Octavia  (84 = Superb)

Byte 2: Model & Derivate: 0x = Basic, 4x = Scout, 5x = vRS

and the last bit: 1 = Limousine (Hatchback), 2 = Combi (Estate)

can you code it to change the wheels to Xtremes as well?  :tongueout:

Not that I have found! I’ve given up now, it doesn’t bother me so much anymore.

Sasha to the rescue

before and after...so simple but I’m happy now, don’t see why this isn’t just an option...

had to enter the 5 in the long code at the top.

Thank you very much

Looks pretty much the same to me...

It’s pretty much is, different wheels and the little badge on the grill

And the xenon lights and boot spoiler. It looks pretty much the same as standard in the same way a vRS looks pretty much the same as a standard one in real life.

and a different bumper!

If you can type 13 in there that’ll do it. Why it’s in the firmware and not used is a mystery! Someone made that image and they just decided not to use it!!
