Are you happy with your Karoq

I have owned a Karoq 1.5tsi sel since May 2018 and I have been reading the Karoq forum since January 2018.

I have been wondering how many Karoq owners are genuinely happy with their car, I haven't experienced the kangarooing effect or many of the problems other owners seem to be suffering so my question is this, are there more people dissatisfied with their purchase or more that are satisfied. It would be interesting to hear from people who are happy with their car.

I'm happy, a couple of niggles but no more so than any other car I've owned.

Genuine moments where I really can't imagine wanting to drive anything else though

I have a 1.5 TSI SEL DSG in black that i picked up 1.5 weeks ago.  I like the car and it would have been even better if my door handles didn't have some creak in them.  I think the interior light switches could be better too - they feel cheap to me.  Nothing major though.

When i see the Peugeot 3008 on the road i still wonder what if i had got one of those.  I've never been in one but i just remember it would have cost me more to have a similar spec to my SEL with leather.

I am very happy with mine and seem to find something else it can do every day.  I have a 1.5TSI Edition manual and the drive is lovely as it seems to float and I'm cocooned inside with good music playing.  Luckily no kangarooing although first gear revs very quickly but used to that now. I do feel it is the best car I have ever had by far.

I also have the 1.5 DSG and absolutely love it. So far I have had none of the problems mentioned here (first gear, creaky door handles, skoda connect, ...). I have had it for going on 3 months and recently completed a 4 week touring holiday through Scotland where it performed beautifully.

With regards to the 3008 I really like the look of them on the road and they have a certain something. However it took me about 30 secs of sitting inside it to decide it was not for me. It was like a space ship from the movies and was way over the top for my conservative tastes.

100% happy with it.

We've owned all sorts of cars from various marques, Ford, VW, Toyota, Range Rover, Mercedes to name a few and we think the Karoq is the best all round car we've ever owned.

Would we buy another Skoda, yes!

Get past the Skoda stigma and you'll find yourself in a good value well equipped car, sod the neighbours

Glad the 3008 is no good :)

I'm happy with mine in 6 months and 8K miles of ownership. Even happier these past couple of mornings where the heated windscreen has been needed and did it's thing.

How effective is the heated windscreen? I chose the option but can't see it in action until the frost comes.

Seems to be very effective, but we've only used it yesterday and today. It operated slightly differently from the rear screen heater, you don't get patches of melted frost like I expected. Instead it seems to melt the frost against the windscreen across the whole screen but the 'top layer' of frost is not affected, so it looks like its not working! I rubbed my finger over the frost and it slid off easily, so a flick of the wipers cleared the screen with no scrapping or damage to wipers. (I've now set it to be on automatically when cold)

100% good from me. Still enjoying the drive. Probably my best ever car. A great all-rounder. DSG works very well. With the clock change and dark evenings the headlights will be in use constantly for my commute. The cornering lights work well, although I could live without them and probably wouldn't have specified them as an option.

Like Luckypants I have only used the heated windscreen a few times but have been impressed with it.

I have the heated windscreen linked to the heated steering wheel. There are 3 heat settings for the wheel, I may venture up to the middle setting soon.

The wheel acts as another "radiator" - another heat source - always welcome with a very cold start.

If my only real moan is that I have to push the fuel filler flap hard to get it to open, then you get a taste of what im feeling for the car.

Also like FrankfurtDave  I don't do spaceship/bling, I have conservative tastes, so the Karoq looks just about right (inside and out) to me.

So far great experience.  Used Car Wow for first time.  They found a dealer and exactly the car spec I wanted 1.5 petrol blue Karoq.   Also sent a cheque to pay off full amount from Skoda finance which so far was no problem.

The car does not seem to have any problems re first gear etc.

We got ours around the end of July it was registered in March and had around 5000 miles on it, a Quartz grey SE L DSG 4x4 dealer owned.

Paid around £24,800 and got a good deal on my 64 Scout DSG, I see on many dealer sites the same ones are on for much more and registered at much the same time!!

I thought the scout to be the best car I had had but the Karoq is much better for us, info screen is great and to find music albums is much easier, seating being higher is very good, the boot is smaller but ok, the Vario seats are as they say " versatile "but I had the same on a Scenic many years ago so not a new Skoda idea!

I still miss the power of the 184 Scout but the Karoq is still ok and I am 72 so time to hold back a bit;)

My 4th modern Skoda in 9 yrs  3 being 4x4 Octy estates plus 4 others from the 70s to the 90s, yes I do like Skodas.

All in all very happy with the Karoq.

We've had ours since 1st Feb over 6k miles on the clock, no really, really long journeys yet but husband is very happy with it.  He's had Japanese cars for over 25 years and traded in his Lexus for the Karoq.  I like driving it too, the niggles for me are I think linked with it being a European car and built for left hand drive with some items not rearranged for right hand and maybe Skoda niggles, but they are really just like anything when you change brand.

We have heated windscreen when it is on it clears the windscreen internally very quickly apart from 2 slim patches at the side of the windscreen.  We took delivery only  a few days before it snowed last year but it stayed in the garage and haven't had frost for husband's commute home from work yet.

Have the diesel SE-L dsg Karoq since 21st September. Still under 500 miles on the clock and averaging 52mpg. Have set the 'mode' to economy. Still pulls away from lights as fast as others so not holding anyone up. Keeping to 60 on the motorway. I'm hearing a little wind noise around the top of the drivers' window, and there's an occasional rattle from the rear- could be the rear seat frame which I've pushed forward. Maybe the tailgate.

With my creaky knees I love the height for access.

Great turning circle, almost like a cab. Very impressive after my Citroen C5 which needs a wide road.

Something to watch, the 12v accessory sockets are permanently powered so if you leave a dashcam connected it will eventually flatten the battery. Had low battery warning today, it suggested I go for a drive.

The only issue I have is that I should have disconnected the speedo from new.

I love driving my ten week old 1.5 Edition DSG but the odometer keeps telling me I'm doing far more miles than I ever did before - already up to 2600miles

very happy with the car, great value for top trim plus options,

brown colour was loved at first then stopped liking it and now i like it again :)

the only downside is the buying experience is very unexciting (dealer to blame), its like going to Aldi - good products but the stor and staff is not....

I've had my 1.0TSi SE Tech DSG since February. It seems to do every thing asked of it very well, but, after a Roomster and two Yeti's I find the styling a bit mainstream, dare I say it, boring. Would I have another in 14 months? If I get as good a deal, yes. It is a complete car for my needs and my wife likes it, which is handy as my Escort scares her, and she doesn't like my convertibles so won't drive my Golf. So, result!

Love the car apart from the kamgerooing. We have done 3 trips to Kent from Devon and find it a joy to drive. The ACC is great to have for all the motorway journeys and I'm looking forward to using the heated windscreen.

Hi

How do you set the heated windscreen to come on automatically when cold?

Also some people have mentioned the heated steering wheel is like a radiator but mine is nice and warm but I wouldn't say hot like the seats - is this how it should be?

there is a setting which means if the climatic control thinks it will steam up it will switch on, of if you switch it on it stays on for 10 minutes and if you turn off your engine with the heated windscreen switched on and start up your engine within 10 minutes it switches back on.

If you go into the climatronic menu and press the cogs symbol it goes into settings and you turn it on or off from there

Yes I agree.  Perhaps it's me being slow on the take up of new communication, but I really don't get Skoda Connect..  Perhaps one of the expert users could do a video explaining it for simple people like me
